        고유수용성신경근촉진법 운동이 만성허리통증환자의 통증과 기능장애지수에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: This study attempts to identify the effects of stretching and core exercise using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) on the pain and functional disability index of patients with chronic lower back pain. Methods: A total of 20 patients with chronic lower back pain were randomly divided into either the experimental group (n=10), who received PNF stretching and core exercise, or the control group (n=10), who received conventional physiotherapy. Both interventions were applied three times a week for six weeks. The visible analogue scale (VAS) was measured in order to determine the level of pain, while the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) was used to measure the change in the functional disability index. We conducted a paired t-test to compare the within-group change before and after the intervention. To compare the between-group difference, we used an independent t-test. The statistical significance level was set at ${\alpha}=0.05$ for all the variables. Results: The experimental group showed a significant within-group change in both the VAS and the ODI (p<0.01). The control group also showed a significant change (p<0.01). A significant difference was observed between the experimental group and the control group with regard to the change in both the VAS and the ODI after the interventions (p<0.01). Conclusion: In this study, the application of stretching and core exercise using PNF for subjects who complain of chronic lower back pain proved effective in reducing both pain and functional disability. We therefore expect that this intervention can be applied in the future as a useful program for patients with chronic lower back pain.

      • 고유수용성신경근촉진법 아래다리 테이핑적용과 트레드밀 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 보행능력과 균형능력에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was both to examine the effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) lower leg taping and treadmill training on the gait and balance abilities of patients with hemiplegia resulting from a stroke and to provide a taping method based on the PNF concept. Methods: Twenty patients with hemiplegia resulting from a stroke were randomly and equally assigned to a control group (n=10), which received treadmill training, and to an experimental group (n=10), which received PNF lower leg taping and treadmill training. The intervention was conducted five times per week for six weeks. In order to measure changes in the gait ability of the subjects, a 10-meter walking test (10MWT) and a 6-minute walking test (6MWT) were conducted, and in order to measure changes in the subjects' balance ability, a timed up and go test (TUG) was performed. In order to compare differences within each group before and after the intervention, a paired-t test was carried out, and in order to compare differences between the two groups, the analysis of covariance was utilized. All statistical significance levels were set at ${\alpha}=0.05$. Results: There were significant differences before and after the intervention within both groups in changes of 10MWT, 6MWT, and TUG (p<0.01). Regarding differences between the two groups, the experimental group underwent more effective changes than the control group in 6MWT and TUG (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study applied PNF lower leg taping and treadmill training to patients with hemiplegia resulting from a stroke, and this resulted in improvement in the subjects' gait and balance abilities. Taping and treadmill training based on the PNF concept is considered to be usefully applied as one of the programs to improve hemiplegic patients' gait and balance abilities.

      • 뇌졸중환자를 대상으로 한 PNF 적용 치료사들의 중재 내용 분석

        Purpose : The purpose of this study was to record, analyze and describe in detail, content of PNF intervention for recovery of function after stroke using SPIRIT intervention recording tools. Methods : A convenience sample of 21 physical therapist from a rehabilitation hospital recorded the intervention for 69 patients with stroke who treated during 30 minutes. The content of the treatment sessions was recorded using the Stroke Physiotherapy Intervention Recording Tool(SPIRIT). Descriptive statistics assessed for describe the intervention. Results : A convenience sample of 21 physical therapist from a rehabilitation recorded the interventions for 64 patients with stroke who treated during 30 minutes. The content of the treatment sessions was recorded using the Stroke Physiotherapy Intervention Recording Tool(SPIRIT). Descriptive statistics assessed for describe the interventions accurately and investigate the difference according to time since stroke. Conclusion : Facilitation techniques were the most frequently used intervention(n=1226,35.6%), practice(n=967, 28.0%) and exercise(n-670, 19.4%) in clinical practice of physical therapist. In contrast, Teaching careers and health care professionals to do or assist category is not frequently used intervention(n=5, 0.1%). Therefore, We need to be careful again with category of teaching careers and health care professionals.

      • PNF를 이용한 과제지향훈련이 만성뇌졸중환자의 상지기능과 일상생활수행능력에 미치는 영향

        Purpose : The aim of this study was to compare the effect of task-oriented training using the PNF(proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) and task-oriented training with chronic stroke patients. Methods : Sixteen chronic stroke patients participated. Participants were randomly assigned to the control and experimental group( 8 experimental, 8 control). All of participants were in-patients at local hospital and had been received training appropriate to the purpose of each group program. Experimental period was carried out 30 minutes/ day, five days/week, during four weeks. The experimental group trained the task-oriented training using the PNF and control group trained the task-oriented training. Fugl-meyer assessment scale and Modified Barthel Index was measured to compare the upper arm function and activities of daily living. We were measured before and after the training. Results : The results of the study were as follow: Fugl-meyer assessment scale was significantly increased both groups(p<.05), and significant between groups(p<.05). Modified Barthel index was significantly increased both groups(p<.05) and between groups(p<.05). Conclusion : PNF can be effective in improving upper arm function and ability to perform daily life of chronic stroke patients. .

        고유수용성신경근촉진법 운동이 급성 목부염좌 환자의 통증과 목 장애지수 및 심부목굽힘근 지구력에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) exercises on the neck disability index and deep neck flexor endurance of acute whiplash injury patients and to provide basic data for PNF exercises for musculoskeletal system disorder patients. Methods: Twenty acute whiplash injury patients were randomly assigned to an experimental group (n=10) and were treated with PNF exercises whereas a control group (n=10) underwent general exercises. Each session lasted 15 minutes and was performed five times a week for two weeks. The degree of pain was assessed using a visual analogue scale (VAS) and the degree of neck disability was measured by the neck disability index (NDI). Craniocervical flexor endurance (CCFE) tests were conducted to measure deep neck flexor endurance. Results: In terms of the intragroup changes in VAS, NDI, and CCFE, there were significant decreases in both the experimental and the control groups. After intervention, there were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in terms of intergroup changes in VAS, NDI and CCFE. Conclusion: Although the exercises that are generally applied to acute whiplash injury patients are effective on the whole, PNF exercises are considered to be beneficial, given the improvements in the neck disability index and deep neck flexor endurance.

      • 보강적 피드백의 형태가 편마비 성인의 운동학습에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate whether it makes difference to use of the Augmented Feedback Type(Verbal Feedback, VTR Feedback and Verbal & VTR Feedback) to hemiplegic adults on learning of motor skill. For the purpose 15 hemiplegic adults who are received rehabilitation program at H hospital in Hong-Sung, Choong-Nam Province. Subjects were classified into three groups by random assignment; the Verbal Feedback group, the VTR Feedback group and Verbal & VTR Feedback group. Each groups received 5 subjects from hemiplegic adults. Subjects were tested by Timed Up and Go test for 9 weeks. And to find out the improvement measured by Pre-Test, Acquisition Test and Retention Test. To find out the improvement of each group's measures took average and standard deviation. To probate the significance of difference between the improvement conducted the one-way ANOVA and to probate the significance of difference of Acquisition Test and Retention test conducted paired t-test. The results of this study were as follows; First, All of Augmented Feedback Types had a positive effect on hemiplegic adults to learning of motor skill. Second, The Verbal Feedback group and the VTR Feedback group had no significantly difference at Acquisition Test, But They had the most improvement at Retention Test. Third, In hemiplegic adults, the Verbal & VTR Feedback group had the highest Retention Effect.

        The Effects of Walking and Turning and Treadmill Training on Postural Balance and Walking in People with Parkinson’s Disease

        Purpose: The aim of our study was to evaluate the therapeutic effects of walking and turning plus treadmill training on the functional balance and walking ability of individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Methods: Twenty-four participants with Stage 1 to 3 (2.13 ± 0.64) PD based on the Hoehn and Yahr scale were randomly allocated to the experimental group (EG) and control group (CG), with 12 participants in each group. The measured outcomes included the motor subscale of the unified Parkinson’s disease rating scale (UPDRS-M), the Berg balance scale (BBS), the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test, the 10-meter walk test (10MWT), and the 6-minute walk test (6MWT). Results: Pre-to-post intervention improvements were noted for all the outcome measures for both groups (p < 0.05). Post intervention, there was a significant improvement in the EG compared to the CG for the following measured outcomes (p < 0.05): UPDRS-M (p = 0.021; 95% CI, 0.081–6.519), BBS (p = 0.042; 95% CI, 1.375–4.541), TUG (p = 0.034; 95% CI, −3.315–−0.143), 10MWT (p = 0.011; 95% CI, −2.032–−0.289), and 6MWT (p = 0.002; 95% CI, 24.39–91.273). Conclusion: Our study suggests that walking and turning plus treadmill training improves balance and walking compared to treadmill training only in patients with PD.

      • 뇌졸중 환자의 보행능력 증진을 위한 ICF(International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) Tool을 적용한 중재전략의 증례

        Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify functional problems, including walking ability, of patients with strokes using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) and to present a method that could solve functional problems, thereby determining the applicability of the ICF to increase the quality of evaluation and intervention in clinical fields in the future. Methods: Information on stroke patients who were admitted and treated in a hospital was collected. The authors conducted evaluations, interventions, and measurements of the results of the ICF tool in order to improve gait abilities of patients. The subjects were trained using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) one hour a day and five times a week for four weeks. The result measurement variables were a six-minute gait test, 10 m velocity test, gait instability test, and measurements using the ICF sheet. Results: In the six-minute gait test, gait distance increased by 48 m, from 102 m to 150 m. The gait velocity test result showed an improvement from 0.36m/s to 0.44m/s. The subjects performed a gait instabilitytestwithacupfilledwith50mmwater. In the gait instability test, the amount of water was 38 mm before the intervention; however, it was 50 mm after the intervention. The gait velocity with a cup filled with water improved from 0.25m/s to 0.31m/s. Conclusion: An evaluation and intervention were designed with the ICF tool for stroke patients. Gait abilities improved when the PNF technique was used. The IFC method can be used for evaluation and intervention, and it could help improve gait abilities of stroke patients. .

        MSMPR 반응기와 쿠에트 - 테일러 반응기에서 기 - 액 반응성 탄산칼슘 결정화

        Rusgtib형 MSMPR 반응기와 쿠에트-테일러 반응기에서 이산화탄소와 수산화칼슘의 기-액 반응에 의해 생성되는 탄산칼슘 결정화에 대해 체류시간, 교반속도, 계면활성제의 종류와 같은 조업변수가 미치는 영향에 대해 실험적으로 연구하였다. 온도와 농도가 일정한 MSMPR 반응기에서는 계면활성제의 종류가 평균 입자크기에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 이를 평균 제타전위로 수치화하였다. 교반속도의 증가에 따른 평균 입자크기는 물질전달 저항의 감소로 인해 증가하였다. 쿠에트-테일러 반응기에서는 와류 흐름의 효과는 기-액 반응성 탄산칼슘 결정화에 대해 독특한 특성을 나타내였다. 쿠에트-테일러 반응기에서는 와류에 의해 균일한 혼합조건을 얻을 수 있었고, 이로 인해 MSMPR 반응기의 경우보다 입자의 크기분포가 매우 균일하게 나타났다. The effect of the operating variables such as mean residence time, agitational speed and surfactant type, on the precipitation of calcium carbonate was experimentally investigated in MSMPR and Couette-Taylor reactors. The precipitates was produced by the gas-liquid reaction of CO₂gas and Ca(OH)₂aqueous solution. Under fixed temperature and concentration in MSMPR reactor, it was founded that the surfactant type had the greatest influence on the mean particle size and this effect was represented numerically by the zeta potential. With increasing the impeller speed the mean particle size increased due to decrease of the resistance in mass transfer processes. The vortex flow in Couette-Taylor reactor affected the precipitation of calcium carbonate complicatedly. The homogeneous mixing owing to Taylor vortex in Couette-Taylor reactor led to the more uniform particle size distribution than that in MSMPR reactor.
