        스쿠버 잠수활동과 안압, 시신경 및 시야의 변화

        Purpose: To examine how SCUBA diving activities in high-pressure underwater environment affect their intraocular pressure (IOP), visual field (VF), retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), and the shape of optic disc. Methods: We performed visual acuity and refractory test, IOP test, VF test, RNFL photography, optical coherent tomography, and 3D optic disc photography for a group of 32 people and a control group of 32 non-divers, and analyzed the differences between the two groups. For the diver group, we conducted a questionnaire survey on the patterns of diving and diving experience, and analyzed their correlation with results of test. Results: Compared to the Control, the diver group showed significant difference in the mean IOP (diver group: 15.71 ± 2.54 mmHg, control group: 14.23 ± 2.15 mmHg, p = 0.019), and abnormal visual field (diver group: 7 eyes (11.3%), control group: 0 eye (0%), p = 0.006). 85.7% of abnormal visual field belonged to early defect. The diver group did not showed significant difference in the shape of optic disc (p = 0.546), but the optic nerve atrophy in shape of optic disc test field (diver group: 8 eyes (12.9%), control group: 2 eyes (3.1%), p=0.042) was significantly different. Conclusions: Divers who did SCUBA diving activities need to have a glaucoma test regularly. Additional research and large cross or longitudinal study are needed to evaluate causes that scuba diving activities affect. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2010;51(12):1598-1605

        인공 삽입물을 이용한 안와골절 수술 후 급성으로 발생한 안와농양 1예

        Purpose: To report a case of acute orbital abscess after Medpor? implantation for orbital floor fracture repair. Case summary: A 15-year-old boy who was punched in the right orbit visited our clinic because of diplopia. An orbital CT scan demonstrated a fracture of the right orbital floor. At surgery, a Medpor sheet was placed over the orbital floor defect. Over the first three days, clinical improvement was gradual, but at four days postoperatively, depression of the right eye was restricted, and lower lid edema and proptosis was present in the right eye. At eight days postoperatively, the orbital CT scan showed a large cystic mass surrounding the Medpor sheet and fine needle aspiration cytology showed a number of inflammatory cells. Because systemic antibiotics were ineffective, the Medpo? sheet and the cystic mass were removed through a transconjunctival approach to the orbit. A culture of the removed Medpor? sheet grew Staphylococcus aureus and signs of inflammatory cells in the tissue were present. After removal of the abscess, most clinical symptoms showed improvement except for the remaining depression of the right eye. Conclusions: Symptoms of eye movement restriction, lower lid edema, and proptosis may be uncommon after orbital floor fracture repair but can occur. We should also consider the possibility of abscess formation due to infection of the implant and emphasize the importance of prompt diagnosis and treatment of such a case.

        부분디자인의 디자인권리보호와 권리가치 확대에 미치는 영향과 시사점

        지식재산권의 분쟁에 있어서 디자인권의 보호에 대한 관심이 증대하고 있는 가운데, 현재까지 이어지고 있는 애플과 삼성의 지식재산권의 분쟁은 디자인권과 특허기술을 포함한 복합적인 분쟁이라는 점에서 기존의 지식재산권분쟁에서 주로 다루어지던 특허기술의 분쟁과는 차이점을 보이 있다. 아울러 이번 분쟁만큼 디자인특허침해로 인한 법적인 권리와 배상액수의 규모에 대해 국제적으로 비중 있게 다루어진 경우도 흔치않은 사건이었다. 본 연구에서는 애플과 삼성에 의해 현재까지 국내 · 외에서 동시다발적으로 진행되었던 제품디자인에서의 디자인권을 포함하여, 패션제품에서의 디자인권 분쟁사례와 판례 및 주요 국가별 디자인관련 비교법적 고찰을 통하여, 다른 산업재산권에서는 존재하지 않는 부분디자인제도라는 디자인만이 가지는 특성을 고려하여 디자인보호법상의 디자인권리에 대한 확장가능성을 검토해 보았다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다고 하겠다. 아직도 디자인의 복제에 대한 업계와 사회의 불감증이 팽배한 현실에서 디자인권리보호의 확대가능성을 검토해 보고자 한다. 본 연구는 디자인에서 지식재산권의 중요성이 높아지는 상황을 고려하여 향후 발생할 수 있는 디자인권리분쟁에 대해 선제적이며, 전략적인 방어수단으로서 디자인개발 초기부터 디자인권리보호 및 방어차원에서의 활용이 가능할 수 있도록 각 국가별 제도의 특성 및 제도의 적극적인 활용을 필요로 한다. As the interest for design rights protection on IPR related disputes increases, the IPR related dispute between Apple and Samsung, which is continuing to this day, distinguishes itself from other IPR related disputes, which cover patent technology, in a way that it is a complex dispute that includes design rights and patent technologies. Moreover, this is a rare case which substantially and internationally covers the legal rights and amount of compensation caused by the infringement of design rights. This research has a significance in a way that it has examined the expandability of design rights on Design Protection Act, considering the system of granting design rights for part of an article, which is the unique characteristic of design that no other industrial property rights don’t have, through the comparative consideration of design system of major countries and cases and precedents of design right disputes in fashion products including design rights dispute on product design simultaneously and internationally conducted by Apple and Samsung. This research will like to examine the expandability of design right protection in a reality which society and business world are still insensible to the duplication of designs. This research is in need of characteristics of each country’s system and the active usage of them, which can be used as the anticipative, strategic protection method against future design rights dispute to be used at the beginning of the design development on the design right protection and defense method, considering the importance of IPR in the field of design.

        갑상선 기능항진증과 동반된 양안 재발성 후공막염 1예

        Purpose: Posterior scleritis is known to be a rare disease. The authors of the present study herein report a case of posterior scleritis, which occurred in a patient’s eye, accompanied by hyperthyroidism and recurring in the other eye one year later. Case summary: A 39-year-old female patient visited the hospital for ocular pain in the left eye and a headache. The patient was diagnosed with posterior scleritis through fundus examination, ultrasonography, CT and MRI, and an effective outcome of treatment was obtained by oral administration of methylprednisolone. Four months after discharge, the patient received left subtotal thyroidectomy for thyroid papillary cancer. Seven months after surgery she visited again, due to ocular pain that started 1 week earlier in the left eye, as well as a headache, and was diagnosed with posterior scleritis upon fundus examination, ultrasonography and MRI. Methylprednisolone was administered orally and an effective treatment result was obtained. After discharge, the patient was followed up for 5 months and did not show any signs of recurrence. Conclusions: When a hyperthyroidism patient has ocular pain or a headache, the possibility of posterior scleritis accompaniment should be considered, as well as the possibility that posterior scleritis, which already occurred in one eye, may recur in the other eye.         리튬-황 전지용 프리스탠딩 플렉서블 S/CNT/NiO 전극의 제조 및 전기화학적 특성

        수열합성을 통해 합성한 다공성 NiO는 리튬 폴리설파이드의 용출을 억제하기 위하여 리튬-황 전지의 전극에 사용되었다. 리튬-황 전지의 전극은 경제적이고 간단한 진공 여과 방법을 이용하여 집전체와 바인더가 없는 프리스탠딩 플렉서블 전극으로 제작되었다. 다공성 NiO를 첨가한 S/CNT/NiO 전극은 순수 S/CNT 전극에 비해 125 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> 증가한 877 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> (0.2 C)의 초기 방전용량과 200 사이클 후 84% (S/CNT: 66%)의 우수한 용량 유지율을 나타내었다. 이는 방전 과정 중에서 NiO와 리튬 폴리설파이드의 강한 화학적 결합에 의하여 리튬 폴리설파이드의 전해질로 용출되는 것을 억제하여 나타난 결과이다. 또한 S/CNT/NiO 전극의 유연성 테스트를 위해 1.6 × 4 ㎠의 파우치셀로 제작하여 폴딩한 상태와 하지 않은 상태에서 모두 620 mA h g<sup>-1</sup>의 안정적인 사이클 특성을 나타내었다. Porous NiO synthesized via hydrothermal synthesis was used in the electrodes of lithium-sulfur batteries to inhibit the elution of lithium polysulfide. The electrode of the lithium-sulfur battery was manufactured as a freestanding flexible electrode using an economical and simple vacuum filtration method without a current collector and a binder. The porous NiO-added S/CNT/NiO electrode exhibited a high initial discharge capacity of 877 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> (0.2 C), which was 125 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> higher than that of S/CNT, and also showed excellent retention of 84% (S/CNT: 66%). This is the result of suppressing the dissolution of lithium polysulfide into the electrolyte by the strong chemical bond between NiO and lithium polysulfide during the charging and discharging process. In addition, for the flexibility test of the S/CNT/NiO electrode, the 1.6 × 4 ㎠ pouch cell was prepared and exhibited stable cycle characteristics of 620 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> in both the unfolded and folded state.
