In this study, it is investigated the operating characteristics for refrigerated warehouse applied thermal storage system (TES) based on latent heat material (LHM). LHM has the phase changing temperature of –21℃ and heat of fusion of 227 J/g. It is stored the cold heat by refrigerated system during the night, and maintained the internal temperature of refrigerated warehouse by LHM during the day. In the case of the spring-fall season, the average internal temperature and power consumption (electricity cost) of refrigerated ware house are analyzed as –15.9℃ and 186.7 kWh (11,985 won) for non-TES and –20.6℃ and 153.9 kWh (8,101 won) for the TES, respectively. TES reduces power consumption by 27.4% and is effective for peak electric load shifting.
