We have analyzed the three-dimensional thermal conduction in anisotropic materials using nonsymmetric-Fourier transforms. And a complete theoretical treatment of the photothermal deflection spectroscopy has been performed for thermal conductivity measurement in anisotropic medium. Thermal conductivity tensor was determined by the deflection angle and phase angle with the relative position between the heating and probe beams. The influence of the parameters, such as modulation frequency of the heating beam, the thermal conductivity tensor, was investigated.
R-404A/POE 오일 혼합물의 기-액 평형과 상용성에 관한 연구

The vapor-liquid equilibrium and miscibility measurement apparatus was developed and used to obtain data for refrigerant/oil mixture. The vapor-liquid equilibrium and miscibility data for R-404A/POE22 and R-404A/POE32 oil mixtures are obtained over the temperature range from -20 to 60℃ with 10℃ intervals and the oil concentration range from 0 to 90 wt%. Using the experimental data, an empirical model is developed to predict the temperature-pressure-concentration relations for R-404A/POE oil mixtures at equilibrium. In the R-404A/POE22 oil mixture, the average root-mean-square deviation between measured data and calculated results from the empirical model is 3.56% and in the R-404A/POE32 oil mixture, that is 3.24%. Flory-Huggins theory is also used to predict refrigerant/oil mixture behavior. Immiscibility for R-404A/POE22 oil mixture was observed all over the oil concentrations. Immiscibility for R-404A/POE32 oil mixture was observed at the 10~70 wt% of oil concentrations.

The comprehensive model for the thermal diffusivity measurement using photothermal displacement method was developed. In previous works, the thermal diffusivities for solid metal with a finite sample thickness was determined by comparison between the calculated phase curve and the measured one. Therefore, primary error are caused by the finite sample thickness. In this study, a theoretical and experimental treatment of the photothermal displacement technique has been performed for thermal diffusivity measurement in semi-infinite solid materials. The measurement of thermal diffusivity using semi-infinite solid model have the more accurate value because the thickness effect does not exist. In results, the measured values for a semi-infinite materials have the accordance with the literature values within 1% standard deviation, while those for a finite materials show about 3% one.

The underbody catalytic converter(UCC) has a problem that the flow entered monolith is concentrated in the center section of monolith. It lead to the decrease of lifetime of UCC by the local deterioration of monolith and the low conversion rate of exhaust gas. In this study the frame with parallel bars was installed in diffuser for the effective flow distribution. Finally. by removing the fixed frame between monoliths the velocity distribution becomes uniform with minor increasement of pressure drop.

The interferometer method with nano-scale spatial resolution has been developed in this study. To enhance tile accuracy of the previous developed method, tile 14 bit cooled CCD camera with 1280 by 980 spatial resolution was applied to tile measurement. And optical alignment has been carried out on tile highly accurate position sensors with 500㎚ resolution so as to be able to calibrate the detected interference image with the field of view. Also the measurements were applied to the ultra thin oil film between tile Al coated cylinder mirror with 38.1 ㎜ radius and 0.5㎜ cover glass to verify the developed method. The measured result showed the good agreement with he used cylinder curvature with ±5.18㎚ uncertainty.

In present study, a temperature field of specimens which was coated with fluorescence dye such as Rhodamine-B(Rh-B) has been measured, based on the fluorescence intensity. Silica(SiO2) nano porous structure with 1um thickness was constructed on a cover glass, and fluorescence dye was digested into these porous thin films. To optimize manufacturing coating process, various solvents, Rh-B concentration, and other chemical materials were applied to fabricate the specimen and all specimens were measured on the various temperature conditions. For the measurement, a 14 bit cooled CCD camera with 1600 by 1200 spatial resolution is equipped with epifluorescence microscope to obtain only fluorescence intensity from 1.2 ㎜ by 0.9 ㎜ field of view of the illuminated coated specimen.

As the target size of measurement objects lessened to the micro-scale, it is impossible to apply the classical contact methods into temperature measurements. Recently, the LIF technique using fluorescence dye has been used in many research fields to measure temperature. In this study, the specimens with the nano-sized porous thin films are manufactured by injecting fluorescence solution into the glass plate. The optimized manufacturing conditions are determined by the analysis of all parameters that influence to the emission intensity and the experiments are carried out with the specimens produced in the optimized conditions. Then, the deviations of the fluorescence intensity are measured at several different temperatures, and the visualizations of the temperature field are performed by taking intensity distributions from the specimen at various temperature fields.
