In this experiment porous calcium silicate (PCS) powder prepared by using a 50 mesh sieve was spread on top of chick droppings to investigate the odor from the manure. Zeolite was used as a comparative purpose. Reduction in ammonia production from chick droppings shortly after the PCS and zeolite application was evident (P<0.05), but there were no difference among treatments afterwards. hydrogen sulfide level was significantly lowered by both PCS and zeolite treatment(P<0.05).

This study was conducted to determine the effects of pig manure composting on emission of dinitrogen oxide ($N_2O$) that is greenhouse gas. Fresh pig manure was mixed with sawdust as bulking agent and moisture content of mixed compost was adjusted by 61.9%. After mixing bulking agent with pig manure that was left to compost with aeration in composting chamber for an initial period of 30 days. At the end of this period, that was decomposed and a second period of composting was conducted without aeration for 60 days. Temperature during the initial composting period was above $55^{\circ}C$ for 7 days. Moisture reduction rate by composting pig manure was 36.7%. $N_2O$ Produced during composting was 0.043g/T-Ng.

PCS와 zeolite 첨가급여가 육계의 성장능력, 유해가스 및 파리발생에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 대조구, PCS구, zeolite구를 두었으며 처리구당 4반복, 반복당 브로일러 12수씩 총 144수를 완전임의 배치하여 사양시험을 실시하였다. PCS 급여구는 증체, 사료섭취량이 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 적었으나, 사료효율은 현저하게 개선되었으며 (P<0.05) zeolite와 증체 및 사료요구율은 통계적인 차이가 없었고, 사료섭취량은 감소하였다. 암모니아 가스의 농도는 PCS 급여구와 대조구 간에 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 그러나 PCS 처리구는 zeolite 급여구에 비해 2, 3주령에 현저하게 높은 결과를 보여주었지만(P<0.05) 5주령에는 유의적인 차이가 없었다. PCS 첨가수준이 육계의 성장능력, 유해가스 감소 및 파리발생에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 대조구, PCS 1.5%구, PCS 3.0%구, PCS 4.5%구를 두었으며 각 처리당 4반복, 반복당브로일러 12수씩 총 192수를 완전임의배치하여 사양시험을 실시하였다. 시험 결과 PCS 1.5% 급여구는 증체량, 사료섭취량은 대조구에 비하여 낮은 경향을 보였지만 통계적인 차이가 없었으며, 사료요구 율은 PCS 3.0%에서 다른 처리구에 비하여 개선되었다. 영양소 소화율과 에너지 이용율은 PCS 처리구에서 대조구보다 높았으며, 3.0% 처리구에서 제일 높았다. 계분에서 발생되는 암모니아 농도는 5주령에 PCS 1.5와 3.0% 처리구에서 대조구에 비하여 현저하게 낮았으며 (P<0.05), 황화수소는 PCS 처리구간에 일관성은 없었지만 1.5% 급여 구에서 대조구에 비하여 현저하게 낮았다(P<0.05). PCS 입자도별 급여가 브로일러의 능력, 유해가스 발생 농도 및 파리 발생에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 대조구, PCS 20, 50, 90 mesh구를 두었으며 증체 및 사료섭취량은 대조구에 비해 모든 PCS 입자도(20, 50, 및 90 mesh) 급여구에서 유의적으로 감소하였다. 그러나 사료 요구율은 대조구와 처리구들 사이에 유의적인 차이를 나타내지 않았으나 PCS 20 mesh를 급여한 구에서 다소 개선되는 경향을 보였다. 이상의 실험 결과를 토대로 PCS 육계의 영양소 소화율은 대조구보다 개선되었고 암모니아 및 황화수소 농도를 낮추는 경향을 보였으나 이에 대한 더 많은 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다. Three experiments on the addition of Porous Calcium Silicate (PCS) to broiler feed were conducted at different time periods in the same house. Each treatment had 4 replicates with 12 chicks in each treatment. Weight gain and feed intake were higher ($P{\le}0.05$) in the control groups. Feed conversions' were better ($P{\le}0.05$) in the PCS group, 3.0% PCS and 20 mesh size of PCS than the control group from 21 to 49 days, and for the overall period. $NH_3$ and $H_2S$. gas production were decreased ($P{\le}0.05$) when zeolite was added in broiler feeds. 1.5% or 3.0% PCS in broiler feed was better ($P{\le}0.05$) than the 4% PCS. More than 90 mesh size PCS was better ($P{\le}0.05$) in controlling $CO_2$ production in the 5th period than the 20 or 50 mesh size or control groups. The control and PCS groups produced more flies ($P{\le}0.05$) than zeolite group during the 2nd and 3rd weeks. The 3.0% or 4.5% PCS or 50 or 90 mesh size of PCS in broiler feed produced more flies than the 20 mesh size or control groups although 50 or 90 mesh size of PCS during 5th week tended to have lower fly production than the 20 mesh size of PCS and control group.
Preparation of Large Area $TiO_2$ Thin Films by Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition

Chemical vapor deposition using titanium tetra isopropoxide(TTIP) was employed to investigate effects of process parameters on the uniformity of $TiO_{2}$this films deposited on Indium Tin Oxide (ITO)coated glass. Deposition experiments were carried out at temperatures ranging from $300^{\circ}C$ to $400^{\circ}C$ under the pressure of 0.5~2 torrin a cold wall reactor which can handle 200mm substrate. It was found that the growth rate of $TiO_{2}$was closely related to the reaction temperature and the ractant gas compositions. Apparent activation energy for the deposition rate was 62.7lkJ/mol in the absence of $O_{2}$ and 100.4kj/mol in the presence of $O_{2}$, respectively. Homogeneous reactions in the gas phase were promoted when the total pressure of the reactor was increased. Variance in the film thickness was less than a few percent, but at high deposition rates film thickness was less uniform. Effects of reaction temperature on $TiO_{2}$ thin film characteristic was investigated with SEM, XRD and AES.
유기사료 급여가 거세한우의 성장 및 도체특성에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 유기사료 급여가 거세한우의 성장 및 도체 특성을 구명하고자 거세한우 30두에 대한 사양시험 결과는 다음과 같다. 1, 거세한우에 대한 유기 조사료 및 농후사료 급여 시 관행구에 비해 유기구의 발육성적은 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았으나 사양시험 종료 체중이 유기구의 T1 및 T2의 581.5kg 및 573.3kg으로 관행 597.5kg에 비해 $2.7{\sim}4.1%$ 감소하였다. 2. 일당증체량에 있어서는 유기구인 T1 및 T2의 0.80 및 0.78kg에 비해 관행구는 0.83kg으로 통계적인 유의차는 인정되지 않았으나 대조구에 비해 일당증체량이 $3.6{\sim}6.0%$ 감소되었다. 3. 도체등급에 있어서 1등급이상 출현율은 관행구 T1이 50%이었고 유기구인 T2 및 T3이 각각 50% 및 70%이었다. 4. 등심부위에 대한 관능검사 결과 다즙성, 연도, 향미는 관행과 유기구간 차이를 보이지 않았다. 이상의 실험결과를 종합해 볼 때 유기건초 및 유기 옥수수사일리지 위주의 양질 조사료 사육과 볏짚 위주의 일반 관행사육 간에 성장 및 도체특성에서 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았으나 양질 조사료를 급여한 유기구에서 근내지방도가 개선되는 경향을 보였다. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of the organic feed on weight gain, feed conversion rate, and carcass characteristics of Hanwoo steers. Three feeding treatments(T1 : rice straw and commercial concentrates, T2 : organic hay and concentrates, T3 : organic corn silage and concentrates) for 22 months (from 6 to 28 months) were used. As a result, weight gain was not significantly different among treatments throughout this study. Also T1 tended to improve weight gain and daily weight gain without significance. The percentage of meat quality grade over the first grads ($1,\;1^+,\;1^{++}$) were 50% in the carcass of Hanwoo steers fed T1 and T2, and 70% fed T3, respectively. T2 and T3 tended to improve marbling score and oleic acid content.
變形된 活性汚泥法과 톱밥 土壤濾過法을 利用한 畜産廢水處理에 關한 硏究

In order to investigate the purification effects of livestock waste water, Modified Activated-Sludge Process(MASP) containing marine silica and volcanic ash-rock as the contact media and Sawdust-Soil Filter Method were used. The results obtained are as follows: 1. MASP which treated two metric tons' livestock waste water a day decreased BOD by 97.5% from 4,400.0mg/I to 108.8mg/I and SS by 98.0% from 5,335.0mg/I to 111.0mg/I. 2. MASP decreased BOD by 93.9% from 2,549.1mg/I to 156.6mg/I and SS by 96.3% from 3,521.9mg/I to 132.0mg/I when ten metric ton's livestock waste water was treated a day. 3. BOD and SS were decreased by 83.4% from 45.1mg/I to 7.5mg/I and by 83.4% from 47.5mg/I to 7.9mg/I when the supernatant layer treated by MASP was purified by Sawdust-Soil Filter Method.

Bone scan is one of the most frequently performed studies in nuclear medicine with few adverse reactions for the examination of pathologic conditions of bone. Diffuse liver uptake of Technetium-99m methylene diphosphonate (Tc-99m MDP) is a rare occurrence with only a few reports in the literature. Furthermore, there is no report of Tc-99m MDP-induced liver injury. Here we report a case of acute hepatitis with diffusely increased uptake of Tc-99m MDP in a hemodialysis patient.
