        Pediastrum simplex Meyen 의 분류학적 연구

        In order to reexamine the Pediastrum simplex group in Korea, 11 strains of Pediastrum simplex group from 11 different locations in Korea were isolated and cultured in the laboratory. 3 species 1 variety of Pediastrum simplex group reported in Korea; P. simplex, P, simplex var. duodenarium, P. biwae, P. clathratum were reexamined and classified as P. simplex var. simplex and P. simplex var. pseudoglabrum according to their marginal cell shape and cell wall ornamentation. The existing taxonomic characteristics such as cell number, colony form, presence or absence of cavity were variable within the same culture. The cell wall ornamentation and the marginal cell shape were the most distinctive and decisive characters for the infraspecific classification of P. simplex.

        Scenedesmus quadricauda var. biornatus Kiss 의 형태변이

        6 strains of S. quddricauda var. biornatus Kiss which is new to Korea were isolated from 6 different localities in Seoul and Kyunggi-do area in order to examine their taxonomic identity. Morphological variations of the coenobia, percentage of coenobia formed and the ultrastructure of the cell wall were observed in both synchronized and stationary cultures. Three different coenobial types, i.e. abundans type, biornatus type and quadricauda type were produced in all isolates. The percentages of coenobial types produced in different strains varied depending on the culture period. The cell wall structure of all but one (st. QB-6) strain were identical and constant through out the culture period. The cell wall structure of S. quadricauda var. biornatus were unique in its smooth surface and the presence of 1 or 2 rosette, and could be easely distinguished from those of S. quadricauda, S. armatus, S. ellipsoideus and S. intermedius which produce biornatus type coenobia during early log phase of growth.

      • 한국산 토양조의 분류학적 연구

        서울, 경기, 충청지역에서 채취한 토양에서 조류를 분리, 배양하고 그들의 생활사를 추적하여 16종을 분류하였다. 16종 중에 남조식물문 1종, 황녹색조식물문 1종과 녹조식물문 11종 도합 13종의 담수조가 한국산 토양조의 목록에 추가되었다. 16 species of soil algae were isolated from the soil sample collected in Seoul, Kyunggi and Chungchong area and cultured to examine their life cycle. Of the 16 taxa reported 1 species of Cyanophyta, 1 species of Xanthophyta and 11 species of Chlorophyta were newly added to the soil algae list of Korea.

        한국산 훈장말속 식물 중 Pediastrum simplex 분류군을 재정리하고 분류학적 식별형질을 재검토하고저 한국내 11개 지점에서 11개 분리군을 분리, 배양하였다. 이미 발표된 3종 1변종, P. simplex, P. simplex var. duodenarium, P. biwae, P. clathratum은 군체의 외각 세포의 모양과 세포벽의 미세구조에 따라 P.simplex var.simplex와 P.simplex var. pseudoglabrum의 두 분류군으로 정리하였다. 기존의 식별형질인 세포의 수, 군체의 모양과 군체 내 세포 공극의 유, 무는 동일 분리군 내에서도 다양하게 나타났다. 세포벽과 군체의 외각세포의 모양은 분류군에 따라 일정하여 P. simplex의 종내 분류에 가장 중요한 식별 형질임이 확인되었다.       • 한국산 녹조 Pediastrum duplex Meyen의 분류학적 연구

        한국내 서울, 경기도, 전남 등지의 호수 및 연못 20개 정점으로부터 Pediastrum duplex의 21개 분리군을 채집, 분리하였다. 실내배양을 통해 분리군의 군체 형성, 세포 모양, 주사전자현미경을 이용한 세표벽의 미세구조 관찰을 실시한 결과, P. duplex에 속하는 5변종이 밝혀졌다. 세포벽의 미세구조와 연변세포의 모양은 P. duplex의 분류에 있어 가장 중요한 식별형질이었다. Twenty-one strains of Pediastrum duplex were isolated from twenty different localities in Korea. The isolates were cultured in the laboratory and classified by observing the process of coenobia formation, shapes of the cells and ultrastructures of the cell wall using SEM. Five varieties of P. duplex were identified. Ultrastructures of the cell wall and shapes of the peripheral cells were the most reliable features in P. duplex taxonomy.

      • Pediastrum tetras (Ehrenberg) Ralfs에 대한 分類學的 硏究

        In order to re-examine the taxonomic characteristics of P. tetras group (P.tetras, P. teras var. tetraodon) in Korea, 9 strains from 9 sites were isolated and cultured in laboratory. The morphological characteristics which have been applied for delimiting species or varieties of P.tetras, I.e., degree of incision, cell form and size of processes in marginal cells were not stable enoughto delimite species or varieties of P. tetras. All the strains examined produced colonies of both P. tetras type and P.tetras var. tetraodon type in the same culture. There were three types of cell wall ornamentations; wrinkled (st. 1,2,3,4,5), reticulate (st. 8,9), smooth (st. 7) and smooth and wrinkled (st. 6). Although the ultrastructures of the cell wall were variable among and within the strains, the wrinkles and reticulations are unique characteristics of P. tetras which can be applied to delimite this species from others. The 8 isozyme banding patterns of 9 strains examined were identical. Therefore, the 9 strains of P. tetras group were identified as one species, P tetras (Ehrenberg) Ralfs.
