If a failure occurs in the power system, the electrical output of the generator changes, which can be regarded as a result of an external disturbance input. This paper presents a fault detection method and its application to the out-of-step protection problem by using a PI observer that estimates the magnitude of the disturbance. The performance of the designed observer is verified by computer simulations of the single-machine infinite bus power system. Simulation results show that the disturbance can be estimated successfully within the critical fault clearing time and the estimated disturbance can be used to predict whether the system maintains synchronization after the operation of the circuit breaker.

In most electro-mechanical systems, robust controller design is an important issue to deal with various uncertainties including external disturbances. The sliding mode control is widely known as a robust control technique for many practical control applications. In applying classical sliding mode techniques, however, the chattering phenomenon caused by switching operation is a main factor that deteriorates the control performance. To achieve the desired control performance with a relatively low switching function gain, this paper presents a robust position controller for a class of mechanical systems under parameter uncertainties and an external disturbance by using an integral sliding mode controller combined with a sliding mode disturbance observer. The sliding mode controller is adopted to reduce the steady state error. The sliding mode disturbance observer is designed to estimate the relatively slowly varying part in an equivalent disturbance. The control objective can be achieved with a relatively low switching function gain by compensating the disturbance through the proposed sliding mode disturbance observer that constructed without using the switching control input. To verify the performance of the proposed controller, comparative computer simulations are carried out with classical sliding mode controllers for a position control system. The control performance of the proposed controller is confirmed through analysis of the simulation results.

Old buildings are at risk of falling into crime-rich zones in cities, collapsing due to failure etc., while destroying the image of the city. In Western Europe, we began to utilize "rebuilding architecture" as a measure to solve these problems quickly. Recent Residence includes cultural art creation space such as art space, the complex cultural space as various alternative spaces tends to increase as a means to raise the cultural standard of citizens and solve the requirement, these Residences Consider that artists and general people from space create and experience culture together In this research, we combine the characteristics and benefits of creative type residence with Korean style guest house through regeneration of aged apartment to combine the residence for the creation of local artists and the characteristics and advantages of the guesthouse for travelers to form a new shape The purpose is to provide a cultural tourism experience center which is a complex cultural space of the city, to achieve the transformation of the backward building and the revitalization of the region.

According to the increase of electric power demand in the modern society the power system is gradually expanding. This results in a growing need for an intelligent method of fast determination and protection against various failures in the power system. As the computer platform is improved, the system fault detection and reliable protection devices have been trying to enhance their performances using artificial intelligence techniques. If a failure occurs in the single-machine infinite bus(SMIB) system. the electrical output of the generator changes, which can be regarded as a result of an external disturbance input. This paper presents a line fault detection method by using a reinforcement learning-based disturbance observer that estimates the magnitude of the equivalent disturbance. Reinforcement learning is an algorithm that models the relationship between the behavior of an agent and the reward from environment. This paper has adopted the Deep Q-Network for training of the proposed disturbance observer. The performance of the proposed reinforcement learning-based disturbance observer is verified by computer simulations. The results show that the disturbance can be estimated successfully and the estimate can be used to detect the line fault.

Background/Aims: Drug-eluting stents (DES) are superior to bare metal stents (BMS) in reducing restenosis rates across a wide range of patients and lesion subsets.This study compared the clinical outcomes of DES versus BMS in patients with large coronary Methods: The study compared 134 patients (59.9±10.6 years, 90 men, 44 women) who underwent single vessel angioplasty with DESimplantation in large vessels with 115 patients (60.3±8.9 years, 82 men, 33 women) who received BMS. The clinical outcomes at 12 months were compared between groups. The study end points were major adverse cardiac events (MACE), including cardiac death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, and the need for target vessel and target lesion revascularization. Results: The baseline clinical coronary angiography and procedural characteristics were similar in both groups. The duration of dual antiplatelet therapy was longer in the DES group than in the BMS group (240±2.7 vs. 348±1.7 days, p=0.042). During the 12-month clinical follow-up, MACE were observed in 13 patients (11.3%) with BMS and 12 patients (9.0%) with DES (p=0.486). Conclusions: For coronary stents implanted in large coronary arteries, DES seems to be more favorable, although no significant differences were observed in the clinical outcomes between DES and BMS during a 1-year clinical follow-up.
