        청소년기 휠체어 사용 지체장애인의 이미지 메이킹에 관한 연구

        청소년기에는 신체의 빠른 성장이 이루어지고, 변화된 신체를 이미지메이킹(Image Making)하게 된다. 하지만 지체장애인의 경우 비장애인들과는 달리 휠체어를 사용하게 되는데 휠체어는 장애인과 비장애인을 구별하는 매우 강한 도구이기 때문에 청소년기의 지체장애인은 자신의 외모에 대한 강한 불만을 표출할 가능성이 높다. 이에 본 연구는 현재 가장 광범위하게 사용 중인 휠체어 디자인의 문제점을 파악하고 휠체어의 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 또한 지체장애인의 삶의 만족도를 높이기 위하여 휠체어를 중심으로 긍정적인 이미지메이킹에 대한 방향을 제시하고자 하며 이는 궁극적으로 지체장애인의 삶의 질 향상을 목적으로 한다. 휠체어는 지체장애인의 부자유한 신체를 지지해주고 이동할 수 있는 도구로써 삶의 만족도를 높이는데 매우 중요한 생활필수품이다. 행복한 사회생활을 영위하기 위해서는 자신을 자연스럽고 당당하게 표현할 수 있는 사회적인 분위기가 조성되어야 하고, 신체의 일부분이라고 할 수 있는 휠체어를 패션으로 표현할 수 있는 소재들이 개발되어야 한다. 휠체어의 사용이 부끄럽지 않을 때 지체장애인의 생활 만족도 향상 뿐만이 아니라 보다 적극적인 사회참여가 가능해지리라고 본다. Most adolescents grow up fast to make an image for their changed bodies. But the physically disabled adolescent are apt to have a strong dissatisfaction with their appearances because they have to use their wheelchairs that are very powerful tools separating them from the non-disabled on this study, I would like to grasp the design problems of wheelchairs broadly used and present improvement of them. also, I would try to suggest a course of positive image making with wheelchair boosting satisfaction of the handicapped as the center, aiming to improve the quality of disabled life in the end. Wheelchair is one of the most important daily necessaries for the disabled as the tool supporting their bodies and making their movement possible to lead our social life satisfactory, a social atmosphere should be established in which we can express ourselves naturally and confidently. Thus, it is needed to develop a new material that could express wheelchair fashionable as wheelchair could be called one part of our body. When the disabled are not ashamed of using their wheelchairs, they could take an active social participation as well as their satisfactory life is possible.

      • 임진의 [Two Movements for Orchestra]에 관한 분석 연구

        This work was composed based on Korean traditional music. Eb 3 eum Kyemyeonjo (Eb - Ab - Bb) and C pŏngjo (C-D-F-G-A) out of normal scales in Korean traditional music are the main tones. This work has been written by transposition of the notes of trichord and C septachord, and constituted with 8-tone structure and nonachord structure transported by pentachord organization scale and octachord structure and nonachord structure. Two Movements for Orchestra is constituted by different musical ideas. While the first movement was divided into 4 meaningful parts, spring, summer, autumn and winter, in order to put the 4 natural phenomena of human life on the same line, the second movement was grounded on the changgo rhythms of Sujecheon, which is the representative masterwork of Korean music positively illustrating the irresistible natural flow, birth, aging, sickness, and death. This work contains 3 parts portraying the unchangeable phenomenon of birth, aging, sickness and death harmonized in a round form by irregular combinations of Korean rhythmic patterns. It is true that this work has been composed by notes extracted from Korean traditional music. However, it at no time followed only the pitch of Korean tones but concentrated on presenting Korean colors, even though it is performed with western instruments.

        장애인의 삶의 질 개선을 위한 장애인용 공중화장실에 관한 연구

        사회적 합의를 바탕으로 조성되어진 공중화장실의 수준은 그 지역사회의 문화적 성숙도와 국민인식의 수준을 가늠할 수 있는 척도가 되기 때문에 장애인용 공중화장실은 그 사회의 복지수준을 나타낼 수 있는 지표라고 할 수 있다. 장애인용 화장실을 개선하여 삶의 질을 높이기 위해서는 첫째, 장애인용 화장실보다는 장애인, 어린이, 노인등이 사용할 수 있도록 다기능 화장실로 변경하면 타인의 시선의 부담에서 벗어날 수 있고, 관리가 잘 이루어져 쾌적한 사용이 가능할 것이다. 둘째, 장애인용화장실 본래의 기능성을 높이면서도 조형미와 재미를 부여하여 삶의 질은 높일 수 있는 방법이 연구되어야 한다. 다양한 색채의 활용과 함께 지역성과 고유성을 살려줄 수 있는 디자인 모색이 필요하다. 장애인이 사회의 일원으로써 만족스러운 사회생활을 영위하기 위해서는 자신이 장애를 가지고 있음을 잊을 수 있을 정도로 자연스럽고 당당하게 표현할 수 있는 사회적인 분위기가 조성되어야 할 것이다. The restroom for the disabled could be a indicator of the level of public welfare, because we could measure the cultural maturity of the local community and the awareness level of the people with the standard public restroom based on the social consultation. To raise standard of the handicapped`s living through improving public restroom for them, First, rather than the disabled only, making alterations to a restroom for the disabled, the elderly and the infirm altogether could lighten the burden of other`s eyes and avoid neglecting the management, so make a pleasant use possible. Second, a study on the way to raise the quality of the handicapped`s life by enhancing the original function of a restroom and adding aesthetic value and interest to it should be done. We need to find a way to design manifesting regional characteristics and endemism, at the same time making full use of color. A social atmosphere needs to be established for the disabled to live their lives as satisfactorily as they forget their disorders, as part of a community, and behavior naturally and always be in their high spirits.

        도시재생 과정을 통한 전통시장 비주얼머천다이징 성공사례 연구

        Purpose - In urban regeneration projects, considerations for rejuvenating traditional public markets are becoming increasingly important. That is because the traditional market is not just a commercial space but also a living center for local people’s existence. Cultural contents like these are invaluable assets in the contemporary economy. However, traditional markets are gradually declining because of changes in distribution systems and consumer lifestyles. New distribution systems such as modern distribution markets, home shopping, and online shopping malls made traditional markets less competitive. Further, traditional markets have not been able to adapt to the changing consumption styles of younger generations. Some say that it is a natural phenomenon that cannot be stopped. However, traditional markets are not just another distribution system but also a valuable resource that encapsulates the local people’s tradition and history. Thus, a revitalization strategy for traditional public markets has become an urgent task in contemporary urban regeneration projects. This study aimed to find ways to activate traditional public markets by making it a community landmark based on visual merchandising perspectives. Research design and methodology - This study focused on analyzing Granville Island (Vancouver, Canada) as a role-model project for rejuvenating the traditional market. It investigated Granville Island both with walk-through evaluation and literature reviews. Results - We found that it has been developed not only to improve visual aspects, but also to promote cultural contents with high value added. For example, the developers maintained the visual elements that tell the original history of the site as an industrial factory. The renewal project had a balance between improving the outer look and creating attractive contents. The following are the merits of Granville Island that Korean traditional markets should note. First, they kept the whole area clean and hygienic. Second, merchants are well educated, business-savvy, and consumer-oriented. Third, the area’s total environmental designs were done by professionals of a high caliber. Fourth, the city government and the merchants’association were collaborating well in their efforts to accommodate the changing needs of consumers. Conclusions - This study made the following suggestions as a conclusion. First, it will be a very powerful tool to rejuvenate the traditional market if we can discover unique cultural resources and develop them as cultural products, experiences, and events. Consumers of the 21st century have a strong tendency to consume not only material products, but also the experiences and memories attached to them. Second, in order to maintain the unique characteristics of traditional markets, fostering the viability of the merchants’ association and local residents’ society would be essential. Third, it is necessary to make the traditional market into a cultural place not only for the shopping patronage of local residents, but also for attracting tourists to increase sales. Finally, professional management and design approaches are needed in order to make the traditional market a pleasant space from a visual merchandising standpoint.

        Study on the Need of Developing Manuals for Visual Merchandising for Traditional Market: Focusing on the Korean Rice Cake Shop

        Purpose - Korean traditional markets are falling behind the times, because they have not met the demands of social changes including: an overall improvement in standards of living, shift in purchasing form and propagation of cars. It is one of the most indigenous and conventional foods of Korea, taking a seat far in the corner of Korean traditional culture. Research design / data / methodology - Korean traditional rice cakes however have their limits. They are produced and sold by independent shop owners who cannot compete with the brand power of franchise organizations. The leadership of adminstration is needed for these shop owners particularly in visual merchandising related to interior design and display. Results - Additionally, the advent of major company-run rice cake cafe adds fresh fuel to the problem in addition to small but luxurious packaging. Small business owners need packaging technology for overall quality improvement of sales of rice cakes. Additional help is needed with the mode of packing to promote sales and win consumer confidence. Conclusions - Further assistance with marketing for seasonal displays is needed as well as teaching business owners how to read graphic data. Regular specialized education for visual merchandising of rice cakes could help independent market owners win the competition against franchise-based organizations.

        유니버설디자인 관점에서의 사이버교육의 접근성에 대한 연구 : 장애인 당사자주의를 중심으로

        장애인에게 있어서 교육은 그들이 당당히 사회에 통합되기 위하여 가장 절실한 부분으로 장애인들이 지금까지 접근하지 못했던 영역으로의 진출을 가능하게 한다. 하지만 지금까지 장애인들은 장애인이라는 이유로 사회로부터 격리되고 소외당하며 많은 기회를 제한받았다. 특히 교육영역은 비장애인들과의 분리 속에서 많은 기회를 박탈당하고 있다. 장애인들이 비장애인들과 함께 사회에 통합되기 위해서는 교육환경에 대한 물리적, 심리적, 제도적 요건이 마련되어진 상태에서만 가능하다. 1900년대 중반 이후 장애인들이 사회로 참여하기 위한 여러 가지 환경이 조성되고 있다. 특히 유니버설디자인은 장애인, 노인을 포함한 사회구성원 모두가 사용하기 편리한 환경을 조성하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한 장애인들은 장애인당사자주의 관점에서 복지제도와 사회구조 개선을 요구하고 있다. 사이버교육공간은 사회의 변화추세를 반영하는 새로운 교육방법이라고 할 수 있으며, 정규과정 교육 참여에 어려움을 겪고 있는 장애인들의 시간, 공간, 지리적인 문제를 한꺼번에 극복할 수 있으며 무한한 교육기회를 제공하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 장애인들이 사이버교육공간에서 교육을 받기위한 환경요소 중에서 유니버설디자인의 관점에서 기본요건을 점검해보고자 한다. For the disabled, education is the most needed part to be integrated with our society. That would allow them to access some limited area. However, they have been isolated, neglected and restricted from the society. Their chances are also limited because they are the handicapped. Especially in education, so they have. To be united with the non-disabled, the physical, psychological, institutional conditions for the educational system should be set-up first. Since mid 1900s, many kinds of trial circumstances have beeb made in which the disabled could participate. Above all, universal design set up a purpose for the everyone including the handicapped and the old to have environment conveniently. Besides, the handicapped request the improvements in the welfare and social system from the raised consciousness point of view. Cyber space for education could be the new way of teaching reflecting our social transitions, and it could get over the problems of time and space in which the disabled have many difficulties in joining the regular education system. This study has set the goal at inspecting the necessary requisites of cyber education system for the disabled in the view of universal design.

        A Study on the Necessity of the Design of AAC from the Perspective of Universal Design

        (Background and Purpose) Humans communicate and form social relationships with others by expressing their emotions and desires through words, actions, and facial expressions. However, an alternative is required for those who have difficulty communicating through words, an alternative that can be replaced is required, and AAC(Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is one of the most effective methods of this alternative. (Research Method) This study was conducted as follows. In Chapter 2, the concept of AAC and the assistive devices are explained, and in Chapter 3, takes a deeper understanding of those who use AAC and identifies their needs from the perspective of universal design. In Chapter 4, AAC symbol is analyzed from the semiotic point of view. Chapter 5 concludes, summarizes the research results and presents future research tasks of AAC. (Result) First, before designing an AAC, it is necessary to conduct extensive research on the subjects who use it. It is desirable to design the symbol from the perspective of universal design considering not only the intellectually disabled with cognitive impairment, but also the elderly, foreigners, and speech-impaired people. Second, AAC Devices should consider the 'user interface' that sufficiently reflects the functions for user convenience. It should be designed that is faithful to the function while considering the safety and refined appearance that can increase user satisfaction and reduce the stigma effect on non-users. Third, the pictorial symbol should be designed to convey Korean expressions and emotions in consideration of cultural aspects. People with disabilities may have different perceptions of the objects represented by AAC symbols and may feel the burden of re-learning if the symbol is changed. Therefore, various symbols should be developed and distributed. Fourth, a national-level approach is needed. Free apps and affordable devices can be distributed with the help of state support with its advanced technology and abundant resources as an IT powerhouse. (Conclusion) As a visual language, AAC is a symbol that is understood through intuition beyond words. It should be designed so that people with disabilities or communication difficulties can understand readily with minimized education. A universally designed the society needs to consider various ways to improve the quality of life for all humans. Special school administrators, speech and language therapists, and universal design experts should play a leading role together to systematically develop the AAC.

        공공디자인 관점에서 본 유니버설디자인 접근 - 송탄관광특구 골목상권 개선사례를 중심으로 -

        (Background and Purpose) Alleys are living spaces and communication channels for local residents, and when such public space meet business, they become alley commercial areas. This study aims to identify the problems of the commercial alleys and find ways to improve them, focusing on the Songtan Special Tourist Zone, and to find an international way to revitalize the alley commercial areas considering the characteristics that Songtan Special Tourist Zone is a foreign street adjacent to a large-scale U.S. military base, and many foreigners including the U.S. soldiers gather. (Method) In Chapter 2, a literature review is conducted to understand the alley commercial areas and their meaning. Chapter 3 presents the details required to improve the commercial alleys and a plan to express as world streets, especially in New York Alleys. In Chapter 4, the design installations of the Songtan Special Tourist Zone, focusing the contents of murals, are explained. Chapter 5 summarizes the research results and the significance of this study. (Results) Along with the image-making of alley commercial areas, the efforts to construct alleyways that are easy to walk for all, including the elderly and the disabled, and to create scenic commercial districts require long-term strategies. Merchants also need to work from a new perspective, and then the government or municipalities should have faith and plan for long-term support through their researching marketing and demonstrating improved service to consumers, Since Songtan Special Tourist Zone is a place where many foreigners visit, additional platforms, such as language learning clubs and websites displaying foreign languages and Korean, are necessary. (Conclusion) Alley commercial areas with rich cultural resources play an important role in urban regeneration by circulating the local economy. In particular, the commercial alleys of Songtan Special Tourist Zone, located in front of the US military base and visited by many foreigners, have different characteristics from the other alleys. First, since places have lost their vitality due to COVID-19 and the number of foreign visitors has significantly decreased, each alley has been colored with the unique characteristics of the world streets of New York, London, Paris, and Rome. Second, the revitalization plan will be sustainable when merchants and residents lead in transforming commercial alleys into cleaning public streets where all visitors want to walk. Third, most elderly merchants in the alleys are sticking to old-fashioned sales methods and applying outdated offline marketing due to the deteriorating store environments. Therefore, the current supplier-centered paradigm should be changed to suit the needs of consumers, and continuous management by municipalities and professionals is required. Recently, local brands that capture the unique atmosphere of each region are gaining popularity among consumers, and Songtan Special Tourist Zone needs to be improved in consideration of these consumer trends. (연구배경 및 목적) 골목은 그곳에서 생활하는 지역주민의 생활 공간이자 소통창구로서 공적인 공간이 상권과 만나 골목상권이 된다. 본 연구는 송탄관광특구를 중심으로 골목상권의 문제점을 파악하고 개선 방안을 모색해보고자 한다. 송탄관광특구는대규모 미군기지와 인접한 외국인 거리로서 미군을 비롯한 외국인이 많이 모인다는 특성을 고려하여 국제적인 형태의 골목상권의 활성화 방안을 찾아보고자 한다. (연구방법) 본 연구의 2장에서는 골목상권에 대한 파악과 골목상권이 가지는 의미를 중심으로 이론적인 고찰을 하였다. 3장에서는 골목상권을 개선하기 위해 요구되는 내용과 월드스트리트로서 특히 뉴욕 골목으로의 표현을 위한 기획방안을 제시한다. 4장에서는 송탄관광특구 골목상권에 설치된 벽화 내용을 중심으로 설명한다. 5장은 결론으로본 연구의 결과와 의의를 정리하였다. (결과) 골목 이미지 개선사업과 함께 노인이나 장애인 등 모두가 걷기 편한 골목길, 경관이 아름다운 골목상권을 조성하는 노력은 하루아침에 이루어지는 것은 아니기 때문에 장기적인 계획이 이루어져야 한다. 또한상인들도 지금까지와는 다른 새로운 관점에서의 노력이 필요하다. 그들의 마케팅에 관한 공부와 소비자에 대한 서비스 변화를보여줌으로써 정부나 지자체가 믿음을 갖고 장기적인 플랜을 세워야 하기 때문이다. 특히 송탄관광특구는 외국인의 왕래가 많은곳이기 때문에 외국어를 공부하는 학습동아리와 외국어와 한국어가 함께 표시되는 홈페이지 등의 플랫폼이 필요하다. (결론) 골목상권이 지닌 풍부한 문화자원은 경쟁력이 있으며 지역경제를 선순환시키고 도시재생의 중요한 과제로 되고 있다. 특히 송탄관광특구의 골목상권은 미군 부대 앞에 위치하고 외국인의 이동이 많은 지역으로 기존의 골목상권과는 다른 특징을 가지고 있다. 첫째, 송탄관광특구 골목상권은 코로나 19등의 직접적 영향으로 외국인의 이용이 급격히 줄어든 상태로 운영되어 골목상권의슬럼화가 진행되고 있기에 이를 월드스트리트의 개념으로 컨셉화하여 뉴욕 거리, 런던 거리, 파리 거리, 로마 거리 등의 이미지메이킹 적용을 통해 각 골목 마다 색다른 성격을 부여하고 있다. 둘째, 골목을 미군뿐만이 아니라 모든 이용객을 위하여 환경을개선하고 걷고 싶은 공공의 거리로 재디자인되는 과정을 골목 상인과 주민이 주체가 되어 활성화에 앞장설 때 골목의 슬럼화 등문제가 해결되고 지속 가능할 수 있다. 셋째, 대부분의 골목상권 상인들의 노령화로 오래된 판매방식을 고수하고 있으며 매장환경의 노후로 시대에 맞는 오프라인 마케팅이 적용되지 못하고 있다. 이에 공급자중심의 패러다임에서 소비자들의 니즈에 맞는변화가 요구된다. 또한 이러한 부분은 지자체와 함께 전문가들을 투입하여 개선하고, 유지하도록 지속적인 관심이 필요하다. 최근 지역만의 특별한 분위기를 담아내는 로컬브랜드가 늘어나고 있다. 최근 소비자들 사이에서 지역적 특색과 라이프 스타일을살린 분위기 체험을 추구하는 로컬 브랜드가 인기를 끌고 있는데, 송탄관광특구도 이러한 소비자의 심리를 고려하여 개선되어야한다.

        유니버설디자인 관점에서 AAC 디자인 개발 사례에 관한 연구

        (Background and Purpose) This study seeks the direction of effective AAC design by involving design students in the AAC development process with disabled people from the universal design perspective. It aims to develop a Korean version of AAC design that can express our national sentiments and feelings by utilizing the existing AAC, which tends to lack facial and emotional expressions. (Research Methods) Chapter 2 explores the concept of AAC and its users, the elderly and disabled. Chapter 3 examines four AAC design cases from the perspective of universal design. Chapter 4 summarizes the study results and suggests future AAC research directions. (Results) From 2021 to 2023, 2nd and 4th-year students of the Department of Universal Design at H University in Gyeonggi-do and Makerspace (UD Dream Factory) took the lead in developing AAC design. The most important part of this project was designing the faces of Koreans and the expressions they show. FGI was carried out to design faces of Korean men and women who can express emotions so that people with disabilities in various fields can understand them, and the final decision was made after several consultations with experts. ATRAC Gyunggi, and the Gyeonggi-do Safety Experience Centre cooperated in this process. In this project, disabled people and non-disabled students discussed and proceeded together, which served as an opportunity to broaden the understanding of disability. Producing three different AAC designs allows students to think about universal design by understanding the barriers disabled people face in communication. In addition, through the process of deriving the most effective design results, it is of great significance to practice social responsibility for the underprivileged and learn how to use design in a valuable way. (Conclusion) First, extensive user research should be conducted before designing AAC. Symbols should be designed from the perspective of universal design so that the elderly, foreigners, and people with language and intellectual disabilities can easily understand. Second, AAC assistive devices should adopt a User Interface Design that provides convenience and safety in consideration of the user's physical and mental difficulties. In particular, it is necessary to increase user satisfaction and reduce the stigma effect by providing a sophisticated design rather than emphasizing only functions for the disabled. Third, symbols should be designed considering Korean culture. Most AAC symbols currently in use cause confusion since they are imported from the US or Europe and do not reflect our culture and sentiment. Therefore, it is necessary to design and optimize their expressions or colours according to our culture. Fourth, a national-level approach is needed. As an IT powerhouse rich in resources and technology, Korea should pay more attention to AAC and support inexpensive devices and free downloads of symbols.
