Commercial vehicle ESC assessment for curvature road was conducted. The previous study of ESC activation condition for losing controllability utilizing the test protocols of double lane change and sine with dwell method was conducted without considering the geometric complexity of roadway design. Since critical rollover accidents were frequently observed in the exit ramp zone, variety of curve, slope and bank have been added for analysis conditions. Detailed feature of the ramp including location, dimension and design characteristics have been analyzed from the typical trumpet type ramp design. Analyzing accident data from 2008, two specific ramps have been selected due to their complexity in design and severity in steering operation.

Recently, in order to reduce traffic accident related fatalities, increasing number of studies are conducted regarding the vehicle safety enhancement devices. But very few studies about test procedures and requirements for vehicle safety systems are being carried out. Since BSD, as one of the most important safety features, is installed on a new vehicle, its performance test method has to be evaluated. Independent factors irrelevant to the device types including collision position, vehicle speed and closing speed are used to calculate test distance away from the current vehicle. Effect of roadway geometry as radius of curvature is introduced to propose possible misjudgement of following vehicle as adjacent one. The study results would be utilized to enhance the test procedure of BSD performance.

In this study, the flame factor which has been a primary parameter in the simulation of internal combustion engine was estimated by a function of the ratio of turbulent intensity to laminar flame speed. This model could give more accurate flame factor than the previous models. The turbulent flows in the cylinders are generated by three types of flows, swirling flow, tumbling flow and unstructured flow. However turbulent kinetic energies can be generated by the difference of a flame propagation speed and burning speed. The simulation showed that the turbulent motions generated by the flame had play the most important role in combustion process.<br/>

This study is to predict the roundness of Numerical Control Machining Tool and set up a displacement error database so that helps the operator to choose the right machining conditions to produce a product within the given error limits. Principles of learning of neural network is mostly based in Backpropagation Theory. From this study. the base was set to setup the database to produce precisely machined product by predicting the rate of error in the fabrication facility which does not have the environment to analyze it.

The purpose of this study is to enhance the gear tooth machining process outcome by identifying the correlation between the product qualityand machining condition. A surface profilometer exclusively used for tracing and extracting key characteristic parameters from the gear tooth surface profile is facilitated. In order to replicate the professional gear tooth machining process, a cylindrical grinding machine was used. Separate approaches using two types of surface roughness measurement machines are introduced to characterize the product surface. Tentative results revealed that chatter could be observed in higher cutting speed or in poor gripper condition. A neural network tool was used to define optimal process condition area for best process output quality.

In order to improve the performance of the flexible disk grinding system for process automation, nonflat zone is analyzed. Process product profiles for various cutting speed, feed, depth of cut and disk engage angle are checked using projector in order to identify characteristic points corresponding to flat zone dimension. Flat zone dimension trends are correlated with various process conditions. The advantage of this process would be the facilitation of the conventional process condition in maximizing the product flat zone quality.

Rollover accidents are a common occurrence on the highway ramp section. At highway ramp section, unexpected situations might occur due to demand on complex steering control unlike routine driving maneuver in the main streamline. Commercial vehicles have higher risk of rollover due to their high center of gravity. In this study, the lateral acceleration causing rollover would be found. In addition, sections would be classified as dangerous and safe ones by confirming the maximum lateral acceleration for various speed and curvature.
화상처리를 이용한 유연성디스크 가공 평면구간 측정에 관한 연구

The goal of this study is to simplify the measurement process of the flat zone length produced by a flexible disk grinding system for the process automation. The image of workpiece in the grinding process is obtained, and the cutting speed and the feeding speed are controlled carefully to maximize the flat zone length. The gradient, the inflection point and the length of the line in the image are calculated, and the length is also measured by using a projector. Processing conditions and inversely proportional to flat zone length was changing. The flat zone length is estimated by Neural network algorithm considering the process conditions with the estimated error range as 0.06~3.61%, the Neural network algorithm for the grinding process estimation is found to be useful for building the process automation database.
