In this paper, with analysis of the power ratings of electric motors and the dc-link voltage for the inverter systems in recent hybrid vehicles, the trend for the state of the art will be predicted. One of the leading companies for the hybrid vehicles tends to increase the power rating with the higher dc-link voltage in the inverter system. However, other most companies tend not to increase the power ratings. This paper explores such a trend and looks into the loss of power devices and the copper loss of the electric motors with various dc-link voltages. In addition, the proper dc-link voltage will be determined by the power rating of the electric motor with simulation results.

The hybrid power system consists of batteries and super capacitors. The super capacitor contributes to the rapid<br/> energy recovery associated with regenerative braking and to the rapid energy consumption associated with<br/> acceleration in electric vehicles. In this paper, the physical property and equivalent model of super capacitor is<br/> included. The soft switching bi-directional DC-DC converter is used to connect the super capacitor with the battery<br/> for the controlled instantaneous electric power flow. The hybrid power system is analyzed and verified by<br/> experimental results from the 10 kW proto-type.

화석연료 자동차의 배출가스로 인한 환경오염이 갈수록 심각해짐에 따라 미국, 유럽, 일본 등은 기후변화에 따른 온실가스 감축을 목표로 친환경 자동차 개발에 많은 투자를 하고 있다. 내연기관에 보조 구동원으로 모터를 사용하는 소프트 타입 하이브리드 자동차에서부터 전기만을 주 동력원으로 하는 전기자동차까지 인버터에 전력을 공급하는 배터리는 잔존량을 관리 예측하여 안정된 영역에서 사용하고 셀 간의 전압 편차가 발생했을 경우 셀 전압 편차를 밸런싱하여 특정 셀의 과충방전으로부터 배터리를 안전하게 관리하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 배터리의 잔존량을 측정하고 밸런싱하기 위해선 배터리 단위셀의 전압, 배터리 모듈별 온도와 배터리에서 부하로 충방전되는 전류량이 필요한데, 기존에 사용하던 방식은 단위 셀마다 개별적으로 포토모스 릴레이를 사용하고 별도의 외부 아날로그/디지털 컨버터로 셀 전압 측정을 수행하였기 때문에 측정 속도가 느리고 정밀도도 낮아 배터리의 정확한 잔량 측정이 어려웠다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 8채널의 셀을 빠른 속도로 스캔하는 Mux와 셀 전압 측정용 아날로그/디지털 컨버터를 내장하고 있어 속도가 매우 빠르며 높은 정밀도를 가지는 전용칩을 적용하여 BMS ECU를 설계, 제작하였고 차량을 모사한 인버터 연계 시험을 통해 기본 성능을 평가하였다.

The power supply devices for battery charger of a green car are required for high efficiency and higher power density. Interleave PFC and LLC resonant converter come into the spotlight for battery charger of a green car, because the conventional PFC and the PSFB (Phase Shift Full Bridge) converter have difficulties for high efficiency and low switching noise. In this paper, the Development result for 3.3kW battery charger on green car is demonstrated and verified through an experimental result.

The power supply devices applied to the electric vehicle are required for high efficiency and high power density. This paper presents a digital controlled ZVS DC-DC converter. The proposing system using synchronous rectifier has advantages of high efficiency, simple circuit, and lightweight. The operating principle, theoretical analysis, and design guidelines are provided in this paper. The simulation waveforms of the proposed converter are shown to verify its feasibility. Regarding the control of the converter, only one 32bit Tricore microcontroller is used for the feedback control of output power and driving all switches. Therefore, the simplest digital control block for this DC-DC converter is established. To verify the performance of the proposed converter, a 1.7kW DC-DC converter was made and tested. On the result of the test, it is obtained the maximum efficiency of 95%.

Nowaday, the increasing global competition put much pressure on increasing the efficiency and quality at all stage in the life cycle of manufacturing systems e.g., (re)design, implementation and operation. To increase efficiency, there is need to minimize the time and cost for development and operation of a manufacturing systems. Therefore, it becomes more and more to important to analysis and test a manufacturing system before a large investment.<br/> In this paper, to apply laser welding to car body welding, we introduce method for generation and group of laser welding stitches and procedure for digital manufacturing and OLP for high efficiency. And, according to these procedures, a digital laser welding cell was implemented using IGRIP and CATIA V5 as an example.

Recently, according to Eco-technology accelerating, new types of the traction motor with the high efficiency and power are demanded. This paper presents that the Hairpin winding is applied to a design of the electric vehicle traction motor for the high efficiency and power density. Generally, the winding method using the toroidal coil has the restriction which exist the unnecessary space between coils. But the winding method using the Hairpin reduces the gap between coils, whereupon the space factor is higher than others. However, because of using the full pitch winding and wave winding, this method has the disadvantages of increasing the THD of back electromotive force and torque ripple. Thus, to minimize the THD and torque ripple, the full factorial method, Response surface method and the step skew to the rotor are used. The paper presents the motor having the Hairpin winding for the high space factor, and the analysis result by using RSM, the method shows the reduced space harmonics.
