Jeff leatham(제프레섬) 화예디자인과 조형세계

본 연구는 제프레섬의 작품특성을 해명함에 있어서 제프레섬 작품의 대한 이해를 기본에 두고 조형성 및 연출기법을 분석하여 작품사례를 유형화하여 특성을 고찰하였다 제프레섬의 작품을 조형적 관점에서 재조명함으로써 화예 매체를 통한 공간연출의 확장 가능성을 제시하여 실무에 활용 될 수 있다. 따라서 제프레섬의 화예디자인의 예술적 가치를 논하기 보다는 공간연출로서 가지는 플라워디자인의 조형성과 연출기법을 중심으로 문헌고찰 하였다. 또한 제프레섬의 화예디자인을 가장 최근 출판한 2014년도 작품집인 ‘JEFF LEATHAM Visionary Floral Art and Design’의 사례 중심으로 분석하였다. 따라서 분석대상은 제프레섬이 연출하는 설치미술, 웨딩 및 파티공간, 테이블으로 제프레섬이 아트디렉터로 활동하는 파리의 포시즌 호텔과 한국의 신라호텔의 사례를 중심으로 하였다. 그리고 각 연출공간에 적용된 화예디자인의 분석요소는 선적요소, 색상, 소재, 연출기법, 조형원리, 조형특징으로 살펴보았다. 따라서 2장의 1절에서는 화예디자인의 조형성과 연출방법에 대해 이론적 고찰을 하고, 2장의 2절에서는 제프레섬의 전반적인 작품세계를 알아보기 위하여 문헌, 인터뷰 및 작품집을 선행연구 하였다. 3장에서는 문제 제기와 문제의 설계를 통하여 분석틀을 도출하였다. 4장에 서는 선정된 18개의 조사 대상을 분석하여 특성을 도출하고 5장에서 결론을 맺는다. 이러한 연구는 세계적인 플로리스트의 작품을 조형적으로 분석함으로써 실무 및 교육현장에서 독창적이고 새로운 표현기법 개발과 미적인 조형계획 설계에 활용하는데 그 의의가 있다. This study aimed at contemplating characteristics of Jeff Leatham``s work by categorizing his pieces as well as analyzing formativeness and production techniques based on the understanding of his creations to explain his work. Refocusing Jeff``s work in the formative point of view can suggest possibility of more diverse spatial expressions through the floral media so that florists can use them. Therefore, this study focused on the formativeness and production techniques of floral design, which represent spatial expressions rather than discussed the artistic value of the floral design of Jeff Leatham. In addition, his floral design was analyzed using creations from the 2014 anthology ‘JEFF LEATHAM Visionary Floral Art and Design’, which is most recently published. Installation art, wedding and party decorations and tables were subjects of the analysis. Pieces that Jeff arranged for The Shilla Seoul Hotel in Korea and Four Seasons Hotel Paris, where he works as an art director, were used. Linear factors, colors, materials, production techniques, the formative principle, and formative characteristics were utilized as elements of analysis of floral design applied to each space. Formativeness and production methods of floral design were theoretically considered in section 1 of chapter 2. Documents, interviews, and collections were discussed in section 2 of chapter 2 to understand Jeff``s work. Chapter 3 provided an analysis framework by raising and designing problems. Chapter 4 analyzed 18 research subjects selected to derive their properties and chapter 5 made a conclusion. This study finds its significance in that a world-class florist``s creations are formatively analyzed for practitioners and educators to develop new expressive methods and design aesthetic formative plans.
