To evaluate the relationship between dynamics of cyanobacteria and odorous compounds, a monthly monitoring of water quality and phytoplankton were conducted at the three serial lakes (Lake Ui-am, Lake Cheong-pyeong and Lake Pal-dang) in the North Han River for 11 times from May 2014 to March 2015. In the three serial lakes, phytoplankton communities showed that seasonal changes in Bacillariophyceae- Cyanophyceae-Bacillariophyceae. Anabaena and Pseudanabaena were dominant species in August and September 2014. At the same time the odors (Geosmin, 2-MIB) were also detected with high concentration. Relationship between environmental factors and cyanobacterial abundance showed a significant correlation with Anabaena circinalis and geosmin (r=0.983, p<0.01). In the case of Pseudanabaena limnetica showed a signi- ficant correlation of total nitrogen (r=0.685, p<0.01) and NO3-N (r=0.723, p<0.01). In addition, similarly Pseudanabaena limnetica and 2-MIB (r=0.717, p<0.01) was high. The odorous compounds appeared in the North Han River water were considered to be a direct relationship with cyanobacteria.

Peri implantitis is an inflammatory disease of the peri implant tissue by bacterial infection or other factors, which results in peri implant bone loss. Many nonsurgical treatments were tried on initial to moderate peri implantitis lesion to reduce the inflammation. Some of these treatments made effective results, however, they were not definitively predictable. To prevent peri implantitis and further peri implant bone loss, early intervention is the most important. Early detection of peri implant infection through the regular maintenance care can make it possible to do early nonsurgical intervention. Nonsurgical intervention is effective on peri implant mucositis and can also be effective on initial peri implantitis lesion. If the peri implantitis is not resolves by nonsurgical treatment, surgical approach should be considered.
하수처리수의 인 제거에 미치는 Al(III) 응집제 염기도의 영향

다양한 염기도를 가진 PAC 응집제를 이용한 응집실험에서, 염기도를 낮게 함유하고 있는 PACB (Polymeric Aluminum Chloride Basicity)의 경우 염기도가 높은 PAC 보다 유기물과 인에 응집효율이 높게 나타났다. 저 염기도의 PACB는 고 염기도의 PAC보다 monomeric Al(III) 가수분해 종을 많이 함유하였다. 하수처리수의 응집에 있어서 전하중화와 sweep floc 형성에 따른 응집효율은 저 염기도의 PACB가 고 염기도의 PAC에 비하여 다소 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 PACB와 PAC를 이용한 응집실험 결과 Al₂O₃ 농도가 유사한 경우 고 염기도의 PAC에 비하여 저 염기도 PACB가 탁도, CODMn 그리고 TP 및 PO₄-P에 대하여 보다 우수한 응집효과를 나타내었다. According to the coagulation tests for PACs with various basicities, the PACB with lower basicity showed higher coagulation efficiencies of organics and phosphorus than the PAC with higher basicity. The PACB contained higher amount of monomeric Al (III) hydrolytic species comparing with PAC. In case of the coagulation for the sewage treated water, the coagulation efficiency by the charge neutralization and sweep floc formation was higher with PACB than with PAC. Accordingly, when Al₂O₃ concentration was similar in the coagulant, PACB showed higher removal efficiencies of turbidity, CODMn, TP, and PO₄-P comparing with PAC, especially in the lower range of coagulant dose.
