        득량만의 수질과 식물플랑크톤 적조

        본 연구는 1998년 7월부터 9월까지 득량만 19개 정점 표층에서 수질, 식물플랑크톤 군집의 구조와 동태 및 적조의 특징을 규명하였다. 조사기간 중 월별 평균 수온은 24.0∼28.6℃, 염분은 25.0∼28.6‰로 월별 및 정점간 변이가 컸다. 본 해역의 Chlorophyll-a의 농도는 7월과 8월에 평균 11.59 ㎎/㎥, 7.52 ㎎/㎥를 나타내어 일차생산이 높았으며, 9월의 수질은 부영양화 단계에 있었다. 조사기간 중 출현한 식물플랑크톤군집은 돌말류가 89종류, 와편모조류가 19종류, 규질편모조류가 3종류 등 총 111분류군이었다. 식물플랑크톤 현존량은 최저 1.3×10 exp (4) cell/ℓ(9월, 정점 17)에서 최고 3.8×10 exp (6) cell/ℓ(7월, 정점 10)까지 변화하였다. 7월에는 거의 전 해역에서 황갈색의 적조가 발생되었고, 평균 현존량 1.8×10 exp (6) cells/ℓ을 보였으며 이때 적조원인종은 Prorocentrum minimum, Chaetoceros curvisetus, Ceratium furca, Thalassiosira sp. 등 이었으며, 만의 상부에서는 P. minimum, 만의 중앙부와 만 입구에서는 Ch. curvisetus, 녹동항 주변에서는 C. furca와 Thalassiosira sp.에 의해 적조가 각각 발생되었다. 본 해역에서 질소와 같은 영양염류의 분포는 만의 상부와 녹동항 주변에서 높았고, 적조발생시 수온 23.8∼ 29.7℃ 그리고 염분 23.1∼27.0‰였다. In order to clarify water quality, dynamics and structure of phytoplankton communities, and red tides, the present study was carried out monthly form July to September 1998 at 19 stations in Deukryang Bay. Water temperature varied from 24.0℃ to 28.6℃, and salinities ranges from 25.0% to 28.6%. During red tides in July, chlorophyll-α contents were rather high in August, it showed that phytoplankton controlled primary production in this bay. Phytoplankton was composed of 89 diatoms, 19 dinoflagellates, and 3 silicoflagellates. Phytoplankton standing crops varied from a minimum of 1.3×10 exp (4) cell/ℓ(Sept., St. 17) to a maximum of 3.8×10 exp (6) cell/ℓ(July, St. 10). Red tides occurred in July when the standing crops averaged 1.8×10 exp (6) cells/ℓ. Leading the causative organisms of red tide were Prorocentrum minimum in the upper bay, Chaetoceros curvisetus in the mouth and middle part of the bay, Ceratium furca and Thalassiosira sp. around Nokdong Harbour. Concentration of nutrients such as nitrogen was high in the upper bay, during red tides, water temperatures varied from 23.8℃ to 29.7℃ and salinity were 23.1% to 27.0%.         선진 외국의 동물대체시험법 개발현황과 전망

        The recognition of welfare for experimental animal based on 3Rs principles has been spreading throughout the developed countries and therefore, on the demand of alternatives to animal experiments have been continually increased, especially in advanced countries. Recently, EU prohibited animal uses for developing cosmetic products at any level and some other countries applied already or are trying to setting the similar level of limitation of animal uses for cosmetic industries. According to the global trends, the marketing ban for animal used cosmetics will be applied soon in Korea. In this study, we summarize the polices, regulations, research developments, and validation processes of the animal alternatives methods of foreign countries and use those as a basal information for improving the alternatives regulation and developments. This research project was mainly focused to summarize and analyze related topics including, 1) Investigation of current policies of alternatives in EU, Japan, and USA etc. 2) Investigation of current regulatory trends of alternatives in foreign countries. 3) Investigation of current research trends of alternatives in foreign countries 4) Investigation of current validation processes of alternatives in foreign countries. Investigating the latest data on the status of animal alternatives methods and based on those, someone could use our study for setting the important research theme, roadmap for long-term development strategy of animal alternatives. However, due to the dynamic update trends in the alternative methods in many countries, the newly updated documents could be released at any time.

        북한 담수 식물플랑크톤의 분포

        In order to reveal the distribution on freshwater phytoplankton of North Korea, the present study was carried out at 8 sites of inland and lake waters from 16 May to 31 May 1991. A total of 162 taxa of phytoplankton communities, representing 11 taxa 6 genera of cyanophytes, 2 taxa 2 genera of dinoflagellates, 4 taxa 3 genera of euglenoids, 1 species 1 genera of xanthophyte, 30 taxa 19 genera of chlorophytes, and 114 taxa 37 genera of diatoms, were identified. Chlorophytes were predominant in the rice field of Pyungyang, Chungchon River and Sanju Fall, cyanophytes and brackish diatoms were dominated in salt pan pool of Nampo. Sodongjung and Samil Lake were poor in phytoplankton flora but maintained a good water quality, while Mureung Fall of Mt. Myohyang was rich in biota, and suggested a poor water quality based on an ecological habit in species occurrence. Sijung Lake was abundant in brackish phytoplankton species and was thought to be exchanged by seawater. Because of disconnection of information between North and South Korea, no information on freshwater algal flora of North Korea was available for 50 years. We expect that this investigation wlll help us contribute to the understanding of a phytoplankton distribution and ecology of North Korea in part.

        인천항 선거내의 식물플랑크톤 돌말류의 적조

        In order to understand the dynamics of the phytoplankton diatoms, the present study revealed species composition, fluctuation of phytoplankton standing crops, variation of the dominant species, and the causative organisms of red-tide, charateristics of red-tide due to Skeletonema costatum during the period from January 1990 to December 1991 in Inchon Dock of Korea. During these studies, phytoplankton diatoms were identified 99 taxa, representing 2 order 4 suborders 14 families 2 subfamilies 47 genera 93 species 1 variety 1 form and 4 unknown species. Phytoplankton standing crops varied from a minimum of 3.3×10 exp (3)cells/c (St. 1-B, Sept. 1991) to a maximum of 1.2×10 exp (7)cells/^2+ (St. 1-S, Aug. 1990). The first and the second dominant species were Skeletonema costatum, Paralia sulcata, Licmophora abbreviata, Chaetoceros curvisetus, C. lorenzianus, Eucampia zodiacus, Achnanthes brevipes, Asterionellopsis gracialis and Melosira borreri. The causative organisms of red -tide occurred a total number of 33 taxa and showed high frequency of Skeletonema costatum and Cylundrotheca closterium. Some environmental factors, water temperature, NO_3-N, NH_4-N, and SiO_2-Si had predominantly influenced on Skeletonema costatum red-tide.
