Two different types of plasma probes have been developed and are currently in operation on board the KOMPSAT-l. One is the cylindrical Langmuir Probe (LP) that measures the electron density and temperature from its current-voltage characteristics in thermal plasmas, and the other is the Electron Temperature Sensor (ETS) which directly gives the information of the ambient electron temperatures. These plasma probes provide the electron properties of the local nighttime ionosphere at the KOMPSAT-l altitudes. In this paper we briefly describe the probes and the initial results obtained from these probes since the beginning of their normal operation in April, 2000.
BLDC Fan Motor의 소음원 규명 및 동특성 분석

This study researched cause of resonance noise for BLDC motor used in the refrigerator. it is difficult to measure dynamic characteristics for small sized fan & rotor system with conventional excitation method. Therefore this study performed electric exiting method and natural frequency method using microphone instead of conventional excitation and showed validity of these methods. Study result showed that tortional vibration frequency of fan & rotor system and natural bending frequency of the fan were matched with exciting frequency of BLDC motor caused by commutating ripple torque. And this frequency match caused resonance of the system. The study analyzed main parameters of this phenomenon and suggested alternative solution.
코깅토크 저감에 의한 BLDC Fan & Motor의 공진 소음 개선에 관한 연구

It is very important to diminish noise source of electric motor systems that are used for home appliance area. We have studied on the noise reduction of BLDC motor, mainly focusing on reducing noise source from cogging torque. This noise source causes resonance of fan & motor systems. This study showed that the higher harmonic component of the cogging torque was the main factor for noise generation. Therefor, to reduce noise of bldc motor for refrigerator, this study suggested peanut shaped magnet which surface flux has similar sinusoidal wave form.
