        합곡(合谷), 삼음교(三陰交) 자침(刺鍼)이 백서(白鼠) 자궁(子宮) 운동(運動) 및 Cyclooxygenase-2 발현(發現)에 미치는 영향(影響)

        By the activation of ovary hormone, many morphological changes occur in the epithelial cell lines and muscle cells in rat uterus. These two cells in uterus are important to the implantation of embryo, maintaining pregnancy and starting parturition. One important change associated with the morphological change of these two cells in uterus is the change on prostaglandin(PG) metabolism. Its presence and synthesis in endometriurn and myometrium in uterus affects estrous cycle and the start of embryo implantation in uterus. It also performs as an important modulator in parturition. So the abnormally weak expression of PG causes difficulty during labor and over-expression causes pre-term labor. PG biosynthesis starts from either free or liberated arachidonic acids from membrane phospholipid by phospholipase. Such arachidonic acids are converted into PG catalyzed by Cyclooxygenase. Under normal physiological condition, Cyclooxygenase-1(COX-1) having 602 units of amino acids controls the synthesis of PG. It acts as a local hormone regulating vasomodulation of blood flow, flexible muscle movement, increasing the blood permeability and contributing the protective role in preserving integrity of the stomach lining and Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is induced by the inflammation, pregnancy and increased its expression until parturition. Lipid metabolite like PG is located in uterine and expression of COX-2 increased with pregnancy. Increased expression of COX proteins in epithelial cells and myometrial cells are told to increase the muscle contractility in uterus but decreased right after the labor in rat. It is a good sign indicating that COX proteins are deeply related to the start of labor. Currently, Several studies report the use of PG and COX-2 inhibitor as medication for controlled abortion or to prevent pre-term labor but they entail various side-effects. Our study proposed to suggest use of acupuncture as an another mediator to control abortion or pre-term labor without causing unnecessary side-effects by those medicines. Two acupuncture sites, LI-4 & SP-6 were selected due to their known efficacy. From the immunohistochemical staining of COX-2, normal expression of COX-2 protein in nonpregnant SD rat's uterus revealed that COX-2 protein was primarily detected in the lumina epithelial lining and in the epithelial cell lining contacting the stromal cells. High resolution optical microscopic scanning revealed distinguishable staining in the myometrial mucosa. LI-4 acupuncture administered nonpregnant rat's uterus showed strong expression for COX-2 in endometrium contacted with lumina epithelial lining of rat uterus and in myometrial mucosa. Stromal cells showed more staining than untreated nonpregnant rat's uterus and stronger staining in stromal cells contacting myometrial layer compared to untreated nonpregnant rat's uterus. SP-6 acupuncture administered nonpregnant rat's uterus showed weak expression for COX-2 in myometrial layers and stromal cells but no staining was visible in lumina epitheliai and glandular epithelial cells. Few stromal cells and myometrial mucosa were positively stained for COX-2. Pregnant SD rat's uterus was also immunostained for COX-2 expression after 18 days of pregnancy. Unlike to untreated nonpregnant rat's uterus, luminal epithelial cells were not positively stained for COX-2 but stronger staining for COX-2 was revealed in stromal cells. LI-4 acupunctured SD rat's uterus had very strong expression of COX-2 in luminal epithelial lining. Few stromal cells showed stronger positive COX-2 staining and myometrial layers also showed more expression than untreated pregnant rat. SP-6 acupuncture administered pregnant SD rat's uterus showed positive expression of COX-2 in epithelial cells of luminal mucosa layer but weaker than that of LI-4 acupuncture treatment's case.         The Association of the -675 4G/5G and A-844G Polymorphisms of the Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 Gene with a Risk of Ischemic Stroke in Korean Population

        연구배경 : 플라스미노겐 활성 억제인자-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor-1; PAI-1)은 허혈성 뇌경색의 발생의 원인이 되는 섬유소 용해작용의 저하를 매개하는 인자로서, PAI-1의 작용이 촉진되면 섬유소 용해기능이 저하되어 관상동맥 및 뇌혈관질환의 발생을 증가시키게 된다. PAI-1 유전자의 촉진자(promoter) 영역에는 -675 4G/5G (4G/5G)와A -844G (A/G)의 두 개의 유전자 다형성이 존재하며, 이는 PAI-1의 유전자 전사과정에 영향을 미쳐 혈청 PAI-1의 농도를 증가시키고 결과적으로 허혈성 뇌경색의 발생확률을 높이는 작용을 하게 된다. 연구방법 : 허혈성 뇌경색으로 진단 받은 167명의 환자와 173명의 건강인의 말초혈액에서 DNA를 분리한 후 PAI-1의 4G/5G와 A/G 유전자 다형성에 대한 연쇄중합반응 및 제한효소 절편길이 다형성 (polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism; PCR-RFLP) 방법을 이용하여 허혈성 뇌경색 발생과 유전자 다형성과의 관계를 비교 분석하였다. 결과 : 허혈성 뇌경색 환자에서의 4G/4G의 유전자형의 빈도는 15.0%으로 정상 대조군의 33.5%에 비해 현저하게 낮게 나타났다 (P < 0.0001). 각각의 유전자형과 허혈성 뇌경색의 발생 위험도 (odd ratio ; OR)와의 관계를 분석했을 때 4G/4G 유전자형을 가질 경우 위험도는 0.35배로 현저하게 낮아졌으며, (P < 0.0001), 5G/5G 유전자형을 가질 경우 위험도는 4.49배 로 현저하게 높아졌다 (P < 0.0001). 그러나, A/G 유전자 다형성과 허혈성 뇌경색의 발생과는 유의한 연관성을 발견하지 못하였다. 결론 : 이상의 결과로 볼 때 PAI-1 유전자의 4G/4G 유전자형은 허혈성 뇌경색의 발생 비율을 감소시키는 작용을 하는 것으로 여겨진다.

        봉독약침이 장기환자의 LFT와 RFT에 미치는 영향

        Bee-venom Acupucture has good effect on pain control but We may be anxious about the problem of Liver and Kidneys on many times treated patients. Therefore, In order to analysis the clinical form, We have observed the LFT, RFT of 37 patients who visited Won-Kwang University Kunpo Oriental Medical Hospital and treated Bee Venom therapy over 20 times from March 1999 to February 2000. The results were summarized as follows 1. The distribution of sex was 25 females, 12 males, and the average of patients age was 42.3 years 2. The distribution of disease was degenerative arthritis, HIVD of L-spine, HIVD of C-spine, spinal stenosis, RA, etc. 3. The total treated times is 1464 and the average of treated times is 39.6 times 4. The results of the LFT(AST, ALT) of 37 patients showed that normal impression is occupied 91.9% and abnormal impression is occupied 8.1%. 5. The results of the RFT(BLTN, Creatinine) of 37 patients showed that normal impression is occupied 100%. 6. The results of treatment using BV-acupunture showed that 81.1% achieved above excelent recovery 13.5% achieved above good recovery, 5.4% achieved fair recovery.

        라만과 적외선 분광기를 이용한 P<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>-Na<sub>2</sub>O-MgO 유리의 이상성에 관한 연구

        용융법으로 제작된 인산염 유리시편의 조성변화에 따른 밀도와 물에 대한 안정성 및 각각의 구조변화를 조사하기 위해 Raman과 적외선 흡수 스펙트럼이 측정되었다. 그 결과 $P_2O_5$가 60mol% 부근에서 밀도와 물에 대한 안정성이 급격히 증가하는 구조적인 이상성을 나타내었다. 이러한 변화는 $Mg^{2+}$ 이온을 중심으로 DBO(Double-Bonded Oxygen)이 배위하면서 유리구조의 강한 수축을 유발시켜 나타난 구조변화에 기인하는 것으로, $Mg^{2+}$ 이온을 배위하고 있는 DBO은 이중결합의 성격을 잃어버리고, 다른 하나의 NBO(Non-Bonding Oxygen)과 함께 공명구조를 이룬다고 생각된다. Density, water resistance, Raman and infrared spectroscopy were used to investigate the change of structural characteristics with the composition of phosphate galss samples made by melting method. The structural abnormality of the density and water resistance were rapidly increased and shown near the 60mol% of $P_2O_5$. This result could be explained by the structural changes owing to the strong shrinkage of glass network by the coordination of DBO(Double-Bonded Oxygen) around $Mg^{2+}$ cations. In addition, it seems that the DBOs coordinating $Mg^{2+}$ cations lose its characteristics of double bonding and resonate with other NBOs(Non-Bonding Oxygen).

        자유전자레이저의 개발현황과 전망

        자유전자레이저는 고에너지 전자빔의 운동에너지를 빛 에너지로 바꾸는 장치로서, 다른 어떤 종류의 광원으로도 제공할 수 없는 넓은 범위의 파장가변성과 우수한 분광특성을 갖고 있어, 기초연구에서부터 산업응용에 이르기까지 다양하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 이 논문에서는 자유전자레이저의 원리와 특성, 요소기술을 소개하고, 최근 주목받고 있는 테라헤르츠파 자유전자레이저와 에너지 회수형 고출력 자유전자레이저에 대하여 자세하게 소개하였다. Free electron lasers (FELs) are promising sources of coherent radiation that can provide users with radiations having a wide-range frequency-tunability and good spectral characteristics for basic science and industrial applications. Especially in Terahertz or X-ray ranges of spectrum, FELs can generate much stronger radiations than conventional light sources. In this paper, we introduce the working principles and key technologies of FELs, the status and the prospects of FEL developments.
