The service life of the urban rail car was uniformly set up to twenty five years before the revision of the related laws in March 19, 2009. However, as the rail car design, manufacturing technologies and maintenance skills have improved, it was revised as its designed service life, listed on the manufacturing specification of the urban rail car and according to a precise diagnosis result, it can be extended up to Maximum fifteen years. It is prescribed that the use of extension should be determined by the precise diagnosis guidelines of the urban rail car. The detailed process and methods to determine the use of extension are as follows. After the inspection of its appearance, dimensions, defects, and corrosion is done, the worst condition is selected for the heat deterioration about high-voltage power lines / auxiliary power cables. Then, the actual moving stress is measured through structure analysis. By the evaluation of remaining life based on this data, the use of extension can be predicted. This study, according to the related laws, analyzes the cases of the precise diagnosis and the evaluation of remaining life and predicts the service life for Seoul Metro line No.2 rail cars.

In the fire of wildland, the wind field is one of the most important media. Especially in the transition from ground to crown fire, the vertical wind produced, in the wake of trees is predicted to play a very important role. Through this investigation, the CFD techniques are shown to be applied to the research of fine propagation. and the physics in the regime from laminar to turbulent flow is qualitatively explained while the obtained data are compared one another quantitatively.
산불 열영향 범위 산정을 위한 실험 및 FDS 데이터 비교

This research deals with the combustion experiment of pine trees, which are the most representative species in Korea. Experimental data are compared with theoretical ones using Fire Simulation Program(FDS). It is considered that horizontal/verticaltemperature distribution and radiant heat influence on adjacent areas in fire scenes. The linear function for separation distance totemperature was drawn by applying Stefan-Boltzmann``s law; y=112.13133×(σT4)-0.52916 for calculating the separation distance. Incombustion experiment, the radiant heat came to 1.4∼1.5kW/㎡ in case of the separation distance by one meter. The numerical valuesmean that human body show the critical level of pain after one minute without a protective equipment.
