아달랴 브레너 교수의 지도 아래 이경실(39세) 교수가 쓴 박사 학위 논문은 “구약의 관계절에서 화법 구조와 언어학적 분석”이다. 이경실 교수의 본 논문은 성경 히브리어의 관계절에 대한 구문론적 구조와 실제적인 활용을 다루고 있다. 특히 짧은 형식의 소설 기법을 언어학적으로 연구한 촘스키의 방법론을 토대로 성경 히브리어의 관계절을 연구했다. 이경실 교수는 먼저 히브리어 성경에서 관계적으로 사용되는 모든 단어와 구문에 대해 각각의 구조와 활용을 대표적 예문과 더불어 총괄적으로 정리한다. 다음으로 히브리어 성경에서 이와 같은 관계절이 어떻게 문장에 영향을 미치는지, 또한 어떤 방식으로 문장을 생성시키는지에 대해서도 명시한다.

모바일 트래픽 폭증으로 인한 망 과부하와 서비스 품질 저하 이슈가 부각되면서 이에 대한 해결 방안으로 펨토셀이 새롭게 부상하고 있다. 전 세계적으로 펨토셀을 도입하는 사업자 수가 빠르게 증가하고 있으며 글로벌 장비업체뿐만 아니라 다양한 제조업체들이 펨토셀 시장에 진출하였다. 2012년에도 펨토셀 수요 증대 및 인지도 향상, 대규모 서비스 전개 등이 펨토셀 시장의 성장을 이끌 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 확산 추세에 힘입어 펨토셀은 향후 우회망 역할을 넘어 다양한 유무선 융합 서비스를 실현하고 새로운 수익 창출의 기회를 가져다 줄 것으로 기대된다. 본고에서는 펨토셀의 개념 및 관련 현황을 개략적으로 살펴보고, 국내외 펨토셀 업계 동향 및 시장 전망을 분석하여 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

Purpose: The aim of this case report is to present a case of incomplete bone formation after sinus augmentation. Methods: A patient having alveolar bone resorption of the maxillary posterior edentulous region and advanced pneumatization of the maxillary sinus was treated with sinus elevation using deproteinized bovine bone in the Department of Periodontology,Kyung Hee University School of Dentistry and re-evaluated with computed tomography (CT) follow-up. Results: Even though there were no significant findings or abnormal radiolucency on the panoramic radiograph, incomplete bone formation in the central portion of the augmented sinus was found fortuitously in the CT scan. The CT scan revealed peri-implant radiolucency in the apical portion of the implant placed in the augmented maxillary sinus. Nevertheless, the dental implants placed in the grafted sinus still functioned well at over 15 months follow-up. Conclusions: The result of this case suggests that patients who received maxillary sinus augmentation may experience incomplete bone formation. It is possible that 1) osteoconductive graft material with poor osteogenic potential, 2) overpacking of graft material that restricts the blood supply, and 3) bone microbial contamination may cause the appearance of incomplete bone formation after sinus augmentation. Further studies are needed to elucidate the mechanism of this unexpected result and care must be taken to prevent it.

Background: Chronic diseases are a significant burden on the healthcare system. Nutrition counseling plays a pivotal role in the management and prevention of chronic diseases. Despite its importance, primary healthcare clinicians face practical challenges in providing effective nutritional guidance owing to time limitations, lack of information, and resistance of patients. Current Concepts: This review identifies the main barriers to nutrition counseling that are encountered by primary healthcare clinicians. We propose general strategies to overcome these obstacles, emphasizing the need for simple and easy approaches in clinical settings. In addition, specific one-point counseling methods according to gender and age that can be applied in various situations, techniques related to behavior change for motivating and guiding patients, and practical tips to cope with common conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity are also discussed. Additionally, utilization of education materials, apps, and websites as convenient resources for patients is highlighted. Discussion and Conclusion: Real-life cases demonstrated successful application of nutrition counseling in clinical practice that benefitted both the patients and clinicians. This review suggests enhancing nutrition education in medical schools and residency programs, along with activating nutrition counseling fees to motivate and support clinicians. In conclusion, this review reaffirms the importance of nutrition counseling and stresses the need for continuous learning and practice by clinicians. In the future, nutrition counseling is envisioned as a more integrated and patient-centered approach, necessitating active engagement and adaptation by primary healthcare providers.

日本語の可能について -「ヴォイス(Voice)」観点から-

本研究は、「ヴォイス(Voice)」の観点から日本語可能の位置づけを試みようとすることに目的がある。具体的には、伝統的な英文法とギリシャ語文法、そしてヨーロッパ言語での「ヴォイス(Voice)」の定義を検討し、その定義を踏まえながら、日本語に照らし合わせて「ヴォイス(Voice)」の定義を試みた。そこで得られた「ヴォイス(Voice)」の定義に基づいて、なお、今現在、変化の過渡期にある日本語可能を考慮した上で、「ヴォイス(Voice)」の中での位置づけを試みた。その結果をまとめると次のようになる。 まず、伝統的な英文法などでの「ヴォイス(Voice)」の概念規定を踏まえながら、日本語にあける「ヴォイス(Voice)」の定義を試みた。その結果、本研究では「ヴォイス(Voice)」という文法範疇を<文法関係の交替が動詞述語の形態および(文法的な)意味と相関関係にある>ものと規定した。 また、本研究では、「ヴォイス(Voice)」においての動詞述語の形態的な対立を、「レル・ラレル」「セル・サセル」に限っており、具体的に、変化の過渡期にある<可能>を、「ヴォイス(Voice)」の観点から、どう位置づけるべきなのか、について探ってみた。その結果、日本語の可能は「ヴォイス(Voice)」からの解放、すなわち、離れつつある過程にあるということが明らかになった。
