The pandemic situation lasts over about two years, and we, in turn, no longer hope the recovery of our previous life. With various effects caused by the prolonged COVID19 pandemic, measures have been discussed for the recovery of our daily life but now, ‘Living with COVID19’ is the issue instead. Christians who prayed for restoration are also afflicted with this looking-unanswered situation. This article is a work of pastoral counseling which reveals clear intrinsic psychic dynamics of Psalm chapter 131 for Christians in this era to fully experience the massage of comfort and hope. According to conventional interpretations, the experience of ‘the weaned child’, throughout the chapter, is simply the experience of complete comfort with suppressed desire for milk. However, the experience is an intricate struggling to overcome the psycho-social crisis of the basic trust vs. basic mistrust stage Erik Erikson maintained and, at the same time, a course of progress to obtain the virtue of hope to bear inexplicable difficult times. This progress is an experience of self-transcendence and liminality in which the weaned child chooses to trust its mother not to evade her. As the child overcomes the mother’s inexplicable response of weaning by deciding to trust her love in her arms, David overcomes God’s inexplicable rejection by choosing to trust Him. Now we see the struggling weaned child in the generation under the prolonged global pandemic. For those, who are even losing hope for recovery, existential courage to stay decisive is essential for life of seeing God discarding fear and anxiety.

This study aims to improve the curriculum of counseling psychology of this school. To set the right orientation of the improvement, ‘the orientation presented by curriculum policy administration of the Ministry of Education’, ‘the surroundings of the school’, ‘the distinctiveness of the department of counseling psychology’, and ‘connection between the purpose of education and the model of the school’ were considered. From those factors, the model of the department of counseling psychology was derived: ‘the distinctive profession of counseling psychology with expertise, spirituality, and practical qualification.’ To embody the model, the core competences ‘expertise’, ‘spirituality’, ‘practical qualification’, and ‘distinctiveness’ were set as the standards for domains to divide the classes according to the right orientation considered before. Lastly, based on those newly-set standards, the classes of the prior curriculum were reclassified, and the way was sought to rectify the distribution of the classes which was disproportionate.
