This experimental study was the effect of ultrasonic-treated fuel on the performance in SI engine. This technology was befor-treatment technique using the ultrasonic energy and high-speed vibration energy. Used experimental engine was the 1998cc, gasoline engine (L4, 4stroke, SOHC, MPI system). The experimental equipment constructed the ultrasonic adding system, the test engine, the dynamometer and the DAQ system Test engine revolution condition was variable part load and full road. The ultrasonic adding system operation was 28kHz, 40W and the used transducer was the bolted-Langevin type. Ultrasonic-treated gasoline characteristics was low viscosity and high distillation considering normal gasoline, therefore this study was compared fuel performance between the ultrasonic gasoline and the normal gasoline in Sl engine.

The air-shrouded injector is the type of injection mixed fuel and air with a proper air flow rate. Usually we can obtain the outstanding atomization effect without special equipments, using the air-shrouded injector. Injection pressure ‘ how to mix the fuel and air, flow rate and velocity of shrouded air. arc the major facts to atomize the fuel particle when the fuel is sprayed to the intake valve by the air-shrouded injector<br/> So ‘ this experiment was performed with variations of injection pressure from 2.0 to 4.0 at intervals of O.5(bar) and air flow rate from 0 to 10 at intervals of 2(SCFH)<br/> The mass-distribution characteristics of gasoline injection was measured by 2-D patternator with 400 slits(20 x 20). Through the result of the mass-distribution, we could understand the injection characteristics of air-shrouded injector and forecast the atomization of fuel particle in the intake manifold

The main objective of this study is to investigate the correlation between chemical structure and higher heating value of reformed diesel fuels by ultrasonic irradiation.<br/> In order 10 analyze the chemical changes of molecular structure of the reformed diesel fuels by ultrasonic irrdiation, ¹H-NMR was used and bomb calorimeter was used to analyze the the effect of higher heating values of the ultrasonic energy added diesel fuels to compare with thai of the conventional diesel fuel. The results showed thai the aromatic carbon percentages and higher heating values of the reformed diesel fuels by ultrasonic irradiation increased more than that of the conventional diesel fuel, but the Aromatics percentages and branch indices of those reduced more than that.
