Vol.13 No.1

The purpose of this study were analysed to kinematic of gait motion on various inclined walkways and suggested that data using inverse dynamic method predicted to load at muscles and joint structure. Three dimensional kinematic gait analysis using VICON 370 system. Experiments were performed for 12 adult females on various inclined walkways with the same normal speed of 1.25m/sec. 4 different inclinations of walkway were selected: As follow are the result of analysis: 1. The pelvic tilt angle and the angular velocity shown similar pattern on -5% down-hill walking with level walking, on 5% up-hill with 10% up-hill. There are definite differences on up-hill and down-hill at the foot strike and the opposite toe off (P $lt; .05). 2. Hip angle shown differences each inclination at the foot strike, the opposite toe off and the toe off((P $lt; .001). but there are no differences in maximum extension angle. The angle velocity shown differences at the foot strike, the opposite toe off(P $lt;. 05). 3. Knee angle shown differences each inclination, at the foot strike, the opposite toe off and the toe off. The case of the angle velocity shown differences each inclination in minimum extension angle(P $lt; .001). 4. The case of the ankle angle, there was differences on foot strike(P $lt; .05). on opposite toe off(P $lt; .001) about inclination. The angular velocity was different at the foot strike with at the OTO. As there analysis and conclusion show. Walking, the aerobic exercises for health maintenance and improvement which needs the time of at least 30 minutes, so it gives load continuously and repeatedly on muscles and ligaments. Especially at the up and down hill walking, we suspect the angle and angular velocity change fast each joint. so during the up and down-hill walking. the old and the weak or the novice should walk slowly or do it in the limit of no body-stress.

Vol.3 No.-

The Purpose of this study is to identify the causes of injury in aerobic dancing and to provide for the preventive measures against the injury. The study consists of three parts: survey of aerobic dance, Video analyses of aerobic dance movement, and body impacts analyses via force plate form. The survey focuses on five factors of injuries that, are commonly related to body load. Those are intrinsic factor, extrinsic factor, injury factor, exercise experience facror, and exercise factor. First, the intrinsic factor s composed of anthropometric variables such as height, weight, body mass index, sex, and age. Second, the extrinsic factor includes usage of protective gears, shoe quality, shoe sole thickness, and floor type. Third, the injury factor consists of the injury experience, injured part of human body, medical treatment of the injured, and history of disease. Fourth, the exercise experience factor includes frequence of exercise, exercise time length. Fifth, the exercise factor includes landing motion, exercise pace, and reaction force. The sample of survey is confined to the adult persons residing in Seoul. The places where the survey form was distributed include local community sports center, private commercial fitness facilities, and private noncommercial fitness facilities. The aerobic classes in these facilities were shot with video cameras and using the film. We analyzed a few important body movements such as landing style, movement type, movement speed, and movement frequency. The film was also used to test the reaction force of various exercise movements. The dependent variable of the test are (I)the vertical reaction force in landing, (2)the number of peaks, and (3) the rate of loading. on the other hand, the independent variables are (1)shoe type, (2)floor type, (3)feet position in landing, and (4)motion speed. In conclusion and suggestions, many people continuously practise aerobic exercise over a long period. To make it desirable as a life-time sports, we need to minimize the physical impacts that aerobic movement exerts on our body. It implies that we would be safer by wearing protective gears and by keeping our bodies warm. In order to prevent injuries, leaders should not compel an intense exercise and also ought to recommend a rest to individuals who show signs of discomfort during exercise. Most of private commercial fitmess facilities do not consider that different age groups need distinct aerobic programs. A uniformly imposed program is most likely to overwork our bodies. Therefore, aerobic classes need to be divided according to both age and the degree of physical fitness of students. To minimize the injuries due to the lack of body flexibility, it is recommended that students carry out some stretching exercise befor and after the main exercise. It was a surprising finding that not only the lower limb but also the upper limb like. arms and shoulders is subject to exercise injuries. Now that this study has focused on the lower limb injuries, further studies on the upper limb would be quite useful. The shock of aerobic movement on human body largely depends on the frequency and magnitude of within-50ms passive impact. Therefor, in conducting high impact movement, we need to minimize this type of passive impact. On the other hand, low impact movement may also cause a injury if it is continued over a long time length. In this regard, we may test the impact of extrinsic. factor(e.g., floor quality, shoes type)on human body engaged in low impact movement like walking by extending the exercise time length until the walker gets fatigued. When performing running, jumping, and fast walking, we need to wear jogging shoes or aerobic shoes that are effective in shock-absorbing.In additin, wooden floor appears to be the most desirable fo those exercise. Dancing shoes or indoor shoes that are used by 27.2%of the surveyed is of the least shock-absorbing quality. Therefore, an injury-preventive education seemsto b

The purpose of this research was bring to be communities on field research to activate and being progress to "sport for all program." For the research 6 major cities-Seoul, Inchon, Deagu, Pusan, and Kyangju-and 19 minor cities have been selected. The survey questionnaire developed by the investigtors was mailed to the administrative persons of the City Hall and Local Hall before one week aheard the actural survey. The contents of this research has been divided into three major fields; 1. administration and planning, 2. menagements 3. evaluation. The research show the actual conditions of the local communities` sports for all is still limited. The results of this research are as following; 1. For improvement and progress of for all, the organization should have human power by stationing of sport 2. Currently the total government spending alloctates for soprts for all is approximate 2% but it needs to be increase to be effective. 3. Adimistration of long range plan of various fields is necessary. 4. Rather than to build new facilities, the current facilities needs to be revamped to meet the necessary functions. 5. Presently the possessor of liscences are not fully accounted for, thus there needs a was to account for them I hus tobe useful for sports for all programs. 6. Program should be diverse and complete to give the participants various selections. 7. Club of sports for all sould be formed not limited only to adult memberships. 8. Advertisement and continued education is necessary to bring about the understanding of sports for all. 9. Evaluation is necessary to assessment methodology and contents. Evalustion is to be able to be used as a feedback for future evaluation of sports.

Vol.26 No.1

The contribution of hydrophobic interaction to the binding of nylons with methyl orange and its homologs was investigated from the thermodynamic analysis of the binding system. It was found that the free energy increased negatively with the hydrophobicity of dye and nylon against unfavorable enthalpy situation in the binding system, which means that the binding is entropy-driven. The contribution of hydrophobic interaction to the binding was much pronounced in the binding of nylon 612 with butyl orange where the free energy increases negatively in spite of endothermic enthalpy situation. These results show that hydrophobic interaction contributes significantly to the binding of nylon with acid dye, and that not only hydrophobicity of nylon but also that of dye affects the hydrophobic interaction.

Vol.24 No.4

The bindings of nylons with methyl orange were studied, and the first binding constants and thermodynamic parameters for the binding were obtained. It was found that, with increasing the methylene group of the nylons, the free energy for the binding increased negatively and the enthalpy and the entropy increased positively. The favorable free energy change for the binding appeared to be a result of favorable entropy change rather than enthalpy change. All these facts obtained can be interpreted by the hydrophobic interaction between the hydrocarbon moiety of the dye and the hydrocarbon parts of the nylons, and it is reasonable to conclude that not only the electrostatic attraction but also the hydrophobic interaction contributes to the binding of methyl orange, a typical acid dye, by nylons.

Vol.24 No.5

To investigate the effect of carrier on the dyeability of poly(ethylen terephthalate)(PET) fiber, equilibrium dye uptake and initial dyeing temperature were measured and discussed in connection with solubility parameter. It was shown that the equilibrium dye uptake for carrier-added dyeing increased with smaller component solubility parameter difference between PET and carrier, and lower initial dyeing temperature. For carriers with similar solubility parameter and molar volume, the one which has phenyl ring and carbonyl group in its molecular structure exhibited greater carrier activity. In this experiment, the most effective carrier for PET fiber was benzaldehyde and acetophenone, which can interact with PET fiber most effectively by overlap of p-orbitals.
