        Monitoring of Mycophenolic Acid Trough Concentration in Kidney Transplant under Cyclosporine Is Beneficial in Reducing Acute Rejection within 1 Year

        Background: This study was designed to analyze the clinical usefulness of mycophenolic acid trough concentration monitoring in kidney transplantation patients who were maintained with cyclosporine. Methods: The data of patients who underwent mycophenolic acid trough concentration monitoring after their first kidney transplant between November 2006 and August 2013 and were prescribed with cyclosporine, mycophenolate, and methylprednisolone were reviewed retrospectively. Cox analysis was used to analyze the risk factors for acute rejection within 1 year post-transplantation. Results: Among 90 patients, 41 (45.6%) achieved both the target levels of cyclosporine and mycophenolic acid, while three patients (3.3%) failed to achieve the target level of either cyclosporine or mycophenolic acid. Nine patients (10.0%) only achieved the mycophenolic acid target level and 37 patients (41.1%) only achieved the cyclosporine target level. While patients who achieved only the mycophenolic acid target concentration had no statistically increased risk compared to patients who achieved both target levels (hazard ratio [HR], 1.569; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.316 to 7.778; P=0.581), patients who only achieved the cyclosporine target concentration showed an increased risk of rejection compared to the both achievement group (HR, 4.112; 95% CI, 1.583 to 10.683; P=0.004). Patients who had no achievement in the target levels showed significantly increased rejection risk compared to the patients who achieved both target levels (HR, 17.811; 95% CI, 3.072 to 103.28; P=0.001). Conclusions: Mycophenolic acid trough concentration monitoring combined with cyclosporine trough concentration monitoring is useful for avoiding acute cellular rejection if the first 1 year post-transplantation.

        정신지체학교 교사의 과학교육에 대한 이해와 교과용 도서 활용실태 분석

        The purpose of this study is to figure out how special teachers understand science education and use science textbooks which developed on 2011 according to the special education curriculum. To accomplish this research, we practice the questionaries to 95 special school teachers who work in the schools for the mental retardation and emotional disturbance. The result of survey is as following. First of all, science specialists understand contents better than classroom teachers on the science textbook’s contents in the schools for the mental retardation. Specially, as in the contents, science specialists figure out better than classroom teachers in the Biology, Chemistry, Physics. Second, middle school teachers utilize textbooks more than high school teachers, and science specialist use textbooks more than classroom teachers. An aspect of application of science textbooks, elementary school teachers prefer to utilize specific unit for students. Third, it shows that the teachers who understand the science contents higher use textbooks more. In light of these findings, science specialists understand contents better than classroom teachers on the science textbook’s contents, and the teachers who understand the science contents higher use textbooks more. So, it is important to understand science textbook’s contents in the utilization of the science textbooks. 이 연구는 2011 특수교육 기본 교육과정 과학과 교육과정을 적용하고 있는 정신지체학교 교사들이 과학교육을 어느 정도 이해하고 있는지와 과학과 교과용 도서를 활용하고 있는 실태는 어떠한지 및 그 관계는 무엇인지를 파악하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 정신지체학교 교사 95명을 대상으로 조사를 실시한 결과, 정신지체학교 교사들은 학교급별로 과학교육에 대한 이해에 큰 차이를 나타내지 않았으나, 과학과 전담교사들은 비전담교사들보다 과학교육을 더 많이 이해하고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그리고 정신지체학교 교사들은 초등학교와 중학교 과정의 교사들이 고등학교 과정의 교사들보다 교과용 도서를 더 많이 활용하고 있으며, 과학과 전담교사들이 비전담교사들보다 교과용 도서를 더 많이 활용하고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그리고 정신지체학교 교사들의 과학교육에 대한 이해는 교과용 도서 활용에 영향을 미치는 변인이 되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 따라서 정신지체학교 교사들의 과학과 교과용 도서 활용을 지원하기 위해서는 교사들의 과학과 교육내용에 대한 이해를 높이는 것이 중요한 과제라고 할 수 있다.

      • Lithium이 마우스 골수조혈세포 집락형성에 미치는 영향

        The role of lithium in increasing granulocytes and, platelet production has been studied. The author has investigated the stimulation effect of lithium on granulopoiesis and megakaryopoiesis together and singly to see whether it has a direct effect on the stem cell or an indirect colony stimulating effect when the intergrity of T-lymphocytes. The liquid system was used in murine hematopoietic cell culture. The results were as follows; 1. Comparing to the control (25,642±11,273 /ml) total colonies were not increased with lithium during hematopoietic cell culture. 2. In a conditioned medium and stimulated by pokeweed mitogen, colony numbers cultured with a 2.0, and 4.0 mEq/L concentration of the lithium respectively, increased 2-3 times compared with those of the control. 3. The increment of total colonies were 2 to 6 times in proportion to the concentration from 1.0 to 4.0mEq/L of the Lithium, cultured. in a conditioned medium and stimulated by lithium alone, and also the colony stimulating activity was more potent when the pokeweed mitogen was added to the lithium. 4. When cyclosporin A, an inhibitor of the T-lymphocyte function, was added to the conditioned medium once with pokeweed mitogen present and once without pokeweed mitogen, colony stimulating activity decreased to about 15% of the control group. 5. The distribution of megakaryocytic colonies were not different from the control (16.5±6.7 %) with or without pokeweed mitogen in any concentration of lithium. In summary, the lithium induced granulopoiesis and megakaryopoiesis were not stimulated to the stem cell directly, but cause to an enhancement stimulating activity when the integrity of the T-lymphocytes function is required.

      • 漢江水의 弗素含量에 關한 硏究

        Abstract This study was performed to know the fluoride contents in Han River as the source of supplied water from the Duk Do area in upstream of Han River to Haeng Ju ferry. The analysis was made for the tramples collected from April to November 1973 in every Friday in a week. The obtained results were as follows: (1) Duk Do area in upstream of Han River were less contained by fluoride. The average contents were 0.19ppm, range 0.19~0.38ppm. (2) In the Han River down stream, Haeung Ju ferry was average fluoride contents 0.51ppm, the range 0.30~0.59ppm. (3) The fluoride contents in the Han River were average 0.19~0.51ppm and lower than the level which is able to prevents the occurence of dental caries. (4) The fluoridation of supply water is recommended in order to improve the oral health in Korea.
