In the ongoing debates over the need to identify new sources of energy and to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases. Hydrogen has emerged as one of the most promising alternatives due to its emissions from the vehicle being virtually zero. The governments have identified the development of regulations and standards as one of the key requirements for commercialization of hydrogen-fueled vehicles. Regulations and standards will helpful in overcoming technological barriers to commercialization. Developments of a technique for safety assessment of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle(HFCV) includes four tasks, research for regulation system and policy, hydrogen safety, vehicle operation safety and protection against high-voltage. The objective is to establish a technique for safety assessment and amend safety standards for HFCV and consequently reflect research results to vehicle management policy. We devised safety standards and evaluation techniques with regard to high-pressure gas and high voltage of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standards(KMVSS) for HFCV was amended to June 10, 2014. including the results of the safety assessment technology for high-voltage and hydrogen characteristics.
$SO_x^-$ 노점 측정에 관한 연구 (연탄 온수보일러의 부식문제에 관하여)

In the briquet-burning hot water boiler the $SO_x$-dew point is calculated and found to be between $130^{\circ}C\;and\;154^{\circ}C$. The corrosion rate depends on the surface temperature and the concentration of the condensate on the surface. The concentration of the condensate is decided acoording to the difference detween $SO_x$-dew point and the surface temperature. When the surface temperature is $80^[\circ}C$, the concentration of the condensate is also high (0.15N). Therefore the high concentration and high temperature promote the high corrosion rate of $14{\times}13^{-3}g/100cm^2{\cdot}hr$ on the SS41 material. On the other hand, when the surface temperatures are $60^{\circ}C\;and\;40^{\circ}C$, the concentrations and the co..sion rates are reduced dramatically to $0.11\;N,\;8.6{\tiems}10^{-3}g/100cm^2{\cdot}hr$ and $5{\tiems}10^{-4}g/100cm^2{\cdot}hr$ respectively.

UNECE/WP29/GRPE/EVE has recently defined that the power of a hybrid electric vehicle is the system power. Although a method for measuring the maximum power of a hybrid electric vehicle is presented by KATRI, it does not consider charging and discharging characteristics of traction batteries. This study provides a maximum power measurement method which reflects the charging and discharging characteristics of traction batteries in NOVC-HEVs (Not Off Vehicle Charging-Hybrid Electric Vehicles). Both methods are compared with regard to the output measurement results.

Greenhouse gas is the big issue of the whole world. So foreign countries, EU, USA, Japan, China and Korea made the policy for reducing greenhouse gas. For calculation of reduction, it is necessary to know the quantity of current greenhouse emission per year in Korea. It is not reflected real driving condition for measuring the Fuel economy and greenhouse gas. The subject of this study is to figure out the characteristics which influence on greenhouse gas in real driving condition. And final goal is applying the policy greenhouse emission reduction.

As motorcycles are getting more widely used recently, motorcycle accidents are gradually increased every year. Although most accidents are caused by human factors, the importance of motor vehicle safety standards cannot be underestimated indeed. A variety of regulations related to motorcycle safety have been issued in many countries such as EU, U.S., and Australia, etc. In order to harmonize the international safety standards, it is necessary to develop or enhance the Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (KMVSS) for motorcycles. In this study, motorcycle safety standards for an exterior rear-view mirror and a tire are investigated. Actual test procedures are expected in sequential studies according to the results provided herein. Also, the findings in this paper can be utilized to ensure the KMVSS for a safer driving.
유럽과 한국의 이륜차 엔진 성능 시험 규정에 대한 비교 연구

As a preliminary research to provide amendment for the engine performance test regulation of two-wheeled vehicles, the engine performance data are investigated in terms of maximum torque, rated power, and engine speed of motorcycles on sales in Korean market. Based on the engine performance database officially published to consumers, some forecasted problems are discussed when the maximum torque and the rated power are measured under the present test standards. EU and Korea regulations on engine performance test are carefully compared in terms of the accuracy of measurement devices, test procedures including data acquisition method, and allowable range of rated power measurement. Complementary items are discussed to eliminate ambiguities in the present regulation and to construct rational regulation system.

The number of vehicle accidents related to the side impact has increased since 1990 in Korea, thus the side impact test has been performed as one of the major vehicle evaluations of the Korean New Car Assessment Program(KNCAP) in 2003. A total of 77 vehicles of eight different types(compact, small, semi-midsize, midsize, and large sedans and small, midsize, and large sports utility vehicles) were tested in side impact and side pole impact conditions. In this study, the head and thorax injury values(HICs and chest deflections) of the side impact tests performed between 2003 and 2013 were investigated in terms of vehicle type, test year, and test condition. The recent vehicles showed better safety performances(lower injury values) and similar injury patterns were obtained between side impact and pole side impact tests.

When combustion gas is cooled down below the dew point of sulfuric acid vapor in the heat recovery systems, condensation occurs. Since the condensed sulfuric acid solution causes low-temperature corrosion in materials, it is important to measure the SOx dew point by electric measurement. In this study, two kinds of probes having electric gaps of 1mm or 2mm were used. and experiments were carried out by the parameters of sulfuric acid vapor and water vapor concentration. The changes of electric current caused by sulfuric acid condensed on the surface of probe according to the cooling rate and the probe head surface temperature were sudied. The opimum cooling rate was decreased with the increasing of water vaper concentration regardless of sulfuric acid concentration. The sensitivity of electric current is improved for the narrower gap(1mm) of ring electrodes, but it rarely affects the SOx dew point measuring of different probes according to the change of cooling rate.

The discharge started at lower voltage for the cathode corona than the anode corona. In contract Spark occurred higher voltage for the cathode corona. The anode corona showed higher NO to NO₂ conversion rate. The cone-hole type showed more stable discharge than the cone-plate type. As O₂ concentration increases, the NO to NO₂ conversion increases. It can be seen that the onset of combustion occurs at approximately 280℃ when using NO₂, while temperatures of around 480℃ are required to combust soot using 0₂
