The aim of this study is to suggest a design proposal for the restoration of Suwon Youngdong Market which is located near Paldalmoon. It is expected that the potential of the Market would be enhanced greatly due to the increase of tourists followed by the progress of Hwaseong Restoration Program. To make the Market as a major node of tourist network, a design proposal arranging shops and circulations based on two hyper-plazas is suggested. The two plazas which has to be sunken due to the height limitation and the amount of space to be accommodated is designed to pulls pedestrians into the market and induce them to go around the market following floating pathways. The two hyper-plazas characterized by their dynamic spaces plays a key role as a landmark in the tourist pathway and also as a community center of Youngdong Market and the vicinity area.

In Seongnam-si, deteriorated areas of old town was created by deployment of Seoul evacuating citizens while establishing Seongnam-si. Nowadays, residential circumstances of Seongnam's old town is showing weakness by it's narrow spaces; lack of parking spaces and that of open spaces. To improve residential circumstances and also to get rid of the gap between "planned city" Bun-clang district, and also for Sung-nam's balanced improvements, Seongnam has made "Basic plan for Urban Renewal". On this study, we are suggesting design concept of living for small-income group, which can improve neighborship between groups by making programs need for renewal and good quality of living space, to get rid of those problems. First, we've abstracted design concept for recovering neighborship from analyzing theory of neighborhood. By these concepts, we regained fallen ability and value of living and made it to wealthy living space. Second, we've kept system and scale of street the same to make natural harmony with adjacent blocks which will make residents easier to approach the changes without feeling strange. Third, we've used collective housing with courtyard construction as constructive equipment to offer space and psychological sense of stability by interception which can keep personal area physically, filter negative exterior factors and secure interior identity. Thus in this study we've suggested constructive space for recovering its fallen original ability of living by applying neighborhood theory, harmony with existing city system and collective housing with courtyard construction.

The purpose of this study is to search possibilities of the mixed industrial-resiential area in Seoul as an industrial community and to suggest a readjustment model providing a suitable physical condition for the coexistence of small factories and housing in a neighborhood through a case study of Munrae-Dong area in Seoul. This study analyses the relationships among small factories based on industrial linkages in the mixed industrial-residential area and the role of housing in the area and patternize the spatial relationships among them. Based on the spatial relationships patterns, corresponding physical requirements are identified. leanly, a conceptual model integrating them as an organic unit is proposed.
