음악교과에서의 역량,인성교육 요인에 관한 교사인식 FGI 연구

본 연구는 현재 우리나라 교육에서 강조되고 있는 ‘역량’, ‘인성’ 중심 교육의 의미와 방법에 대한 음악교과 차원의 논의를 시도하는 데 목적을 두었다. 초등, 중등 고등학교 음악교사 세 개 그룹, 총 14명을 대상으로 실시한 표적집단면접(FGI)을 통하여 ‘역량’과 ‘인성’의 음악교과적 의미와 상호 연관성 그리고 수업에서의 적용에 대한 교사의 인식을 도출 하였다. 현장 교사들은 ‘삶에 적응과 발전을 위해서 반드시 필요한 공통적인 능력’이란 전제를 가지고 ‘음악 역량’을 논의 하였을 때, 음악 향유 능력, 생활화, 감수성과 같은 요인들을 중요하게 인식하고 있었으며, 이러한 요인들이 실현되기 위해서는 음악표현능력이나 악보읽기와 같은 음악에 대한 기본 능력 또한 중요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 학교에서의 음악적 경험은 배려, 조화, 협동과 같이 타인과의 상호 작용에 관련되는 인성 요인에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 수 있어서 향후 학생의 사회적응 및 조화로운 삶에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다고 인식하고 있었다. 특히 음악활동에서는 음악의 본유적 특성인 음악적 감수성과 표현활동이 동반적으로 이루어지기 때문에 성취감, 공감, 인내심, 창의적 사고와 같은 개인 내적 역량 또한 기대되는 것으로 나타났다. FGI에 참여한 교사들은 현재의 교육 동향에서 강조되고 있는 ‘역량’, ‘인성’의 중요성에 대체로 공감하고 있었으며, 음악 교과적 적용과 실천을 위하여, 수업방법, 교사 역량, 그리고 교육 지원에 있어서의 적절한 논의와 개선이 필요하다는 점에 상호 공감대를 형성하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study was to discuss meanings and ways to adopt ``competency`` and ``character`` based education, which are emphasized in National Education, from the view of music subject. Through a Focused Group Interview, this study intended to explore the school music teachers` recognition to competencies related to music learning and character-related components that can be cultivated through school-music experiences. Under the meaning of ``competency`` as commonly required skills and abilities for individuals to be adapted and develop themselves continuously in a society, the teacher participants thought that most important ``music competencies`` should be ability to enjoy music, to utilize music in common life and musical sensibility and musical skills and knowledges for music reading and plying are also important to accomplish ``music competencies``. Participants were highly agreed that musical experiences in school would positively effect to character education for cultivating factors like care, coordination, collaboration which can have a positive impact on the student`s future social adjustment and on their harmonious lives with other people. And due to the artistic sensitivities and expressiveness of musical experience, they thought the inner personal competencies like feeling of self-achievement, empathy, patience, creative thinking also can be developed through music education in school. The teacher-participants in FGI showed high agreement on that the ``capacity-based`` and ``character-based`` education have meaningful implication also in music education so that more systematic discussions and effort to improve teaching method, teacher capacity, educational support for music education for future society.
