A radiological and clinical observation was made on 77 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia admitted to the department of Urology, Cho-Sun University Hospital during the period form January 1972 to December 1979 and following results were obtained. 1. Incidence of PBH was 8.1% to 953 total inpatient , 11.3% to 679 male inpatients, and 34.5% to male inpatients of 50 years more. 2. Majority of cases found in 7th and 8th decades(80.5%) with mean age of 69.4%years old. 3. A gradual tendency of annual increase of the cases was observed and the mean interval elapsed form initial symptoms to visit was 29.9 months. Common symptoms were dysuria in 72 cases(93.5%) , hematuria in 53 cases(68.8%), frequency in 51 cases (66.2%) and 12 cases (15.6%) were acute urinary retention. 4. I.V.P. findings of BPH were elevation of the bladder base in 71 cases (92.2%), trabeculation of the bladder wall in 58 cases (75.3%), hypertrophy of the baldder in 24 cases (31.2%) and the complications-hydrone- hrosis & hydroureter 16 cases (20.8%), bladder diverticula 9 cases (11.7%) and bladder stone were 5 cases(6.5%). 5. Cystourethrographic findings of the posterior urethral with 33 cases of PBH were smooth, gentle sloping in 28 cases ( 84.8%), widening in sagittal plane in 23 cases (69.7%), elongaton & narrowing of the urethra in 26 cases (78.8%).

Air may enter the mediastinum via Lhe deep fascial planes of the neck or rarely by dissection front the retropsritoneal space or by transit through a patent foramen from the peritoneal cavity, Pneumomediastinum also results from perforation of the trachea, or bronchi or esophagus and as a sequela of interstitial emphysema. The lattsr condition, sometimes referred to as "spontaneous pneumomediastmum" is the results of alveolar wall rupture secondary to high intraalveolar pressure caused by artificial ventilation, cough, straining etc. I have experienced 2 cases of spaniansous pneumoinediastinum associated with acute asthmatic attack recently, so I report the cases briefly with a review.

The properties of magnetic recording materials largely depend on their shape magnetic anisotropy. The control of their shape and size distribution is very important for improving magnetic properties. The silica-coated goethite$(SiO_2$/$\alpha$-FeOOH=1.5wt%) having acicular shape was prepared. The sillica-coated goethite was heat-treated at 40$0^{\circ}C$~1,00$0^{\circ}C$ 1hr and then reduced at 50$0^{\circ}C$ 2hr. When the silica-coated goethite was heat-treated at 80$0^{\circ}C$ its acicular shape was maintained and its magnetic properties were improved(Hc: 1,325 Oe $\sigma$m:138.8 emu/g, Rs:0.56) However the acicular shape of the paricles was broken for non-coated hematite obtained by dehydration at 80$0^{\circ}C$ They were sintered and showed poor magnetic properties.

The effect of dehydration temperature on the reduction process of silica-coated hematite was invest-igated The particle shape and magnetic properties of the products reduced from hematite at various conditions and the oxidation resistance of silica-coated iron powder were examined. It was revealed that single phase iron powder obtained over 45$0^{\circ}C$ had good magnetic properties. The iron powder manufactured between 45$0^{\circ}C$ and 50$0^{\circ}C$ displayed the maximum coercive force as a result of maintaining its acicular shaped. However the coercive force of iron powder reduced over 50$0^{\circ}C$ was decreased. The oxidation resistance of silica-coated iron powder in air was very good up to 11$0^{\circ}C$ and for 12 days.
