일제강점기 이규환 시나리오의 영향 관계와 변용 과정 고찰

This study aims to consider the formation and change process of director Lee Gyu-Hwan’s scenario world, focusing on his four scenarios in the Japanese colonial era. As a representative director leading the initial stage of Korean films, together with Na Woon-Gyu, Lee Gyu-Hwan is recorded as the fist director who entered the overseas market, and enhanced Korean films. Lee Gyu-Hwan is evaluated as a national film maker through a work like <A Ferry Boat That Has No Owner>, and he is also criticized as a pro-Japanese film maker through a work like <Military Train>. Such conflicting evaluations show the necessity to more extensively research Lee Gyu-Hwan’s film world and footprints in the future. Especially, this thesis aimed to compare <A Sighing Skull> that is his only remained scenario with Suzuki Shigeyoshi’s <What Made Her Like That> that is estimated to have influences on him, and also to examine how the characteristics shown here were continued and transformed in his late works. In <A Sighing Skull>, the lyricism and enlightening perception of the reality in Joseon are revealed, and when this is led to his late works, Na Woon-Gyu-style active elements are added for the aspect of popularization. This is transformed to the repetitive aspect such as murder and violation(report on woman’s misfortune, motif of selling a daughter), and it is relatively continued as lyricism and folkways, so he is specialized as an author containing the landscape of Joseon. This aspect of transformation and continuance was also led to his pro-Japanese film <Military Train>. During the Japanese colonial era, Lee Gyu-Hwan formed his own world by complexly showing his film experiences in Japan, something about Joseon, and the characteristics of Joseon’s silent movie period. Tracking his films that often used the image of train, those scenes seem to be according with a Japanese-tendency film like <Who Made Her Like That> and the scene of railroad constructed in colonized Joseon. 이 연구는 이규환 감독의 일제강점기 시나리오 4편을 중심으로, 그의 시나리오 세계의 형성과 변화 과정을 고찰해 보려고 하였다. 이규환은 나운규와 더불어 한국영화 초창기를 이끌어온 대표적인 감독으로 한국 영화를 고양시키고, 해외에 진출한 최초의 감독으로 기록되고있다. 이규환은 <임자 없는 나룻배>와 같은 작품을 통하여 민족영화인으로 평가받는가 하면<군용열차> 등을 통하여 친일영화인으로 비판받기도 한다. 이러한 상반되는 평가는 향후 이규환의 영화세계와 족적에 대하여 더욱 넓게 연구되어야 할 필요성을 보여준다. 본고는 특히 그의 시나리오 중에서 유일하게 남아있는 <탄식하는 해골>과 그에 영향을끼쳤을 것이라고 추정되는 스즈키 시게요시의 <누가 그녀를 그렇게 만들었는가>를 비교해보고, 여기서 드러나는 특질들이 그의 후기 작품들에서 어떻게 지속되고 변용되는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. <탄식하는 해골>에서는 조선의 현실에 대한 계몽적인 인식과 서정성이 드러나며, 이는 후기작으로 이어지면서 나운규 풍의 활극적 요소가 가미되어 대중화하는 양상을 보인다. 이것은 살인과 겁탈(여성의 환난신고, 딸 팔기 모티프) 등의 반복적 양상으로 변용되고, 문명성으로 대립되던 <탄식하는 해골>의 농촌과 서울의 공간 의미가 이후의 작품에서는 역전되고 여기에 그가 즐겨 사용하던 기차의 이미지도 변용되어 기능하는 것으로 보았다. 이러한 변용과 지속 양상은 친일영화인 <군용열차>에도 이어지는 것으로 보아 일제 강점기 이규환이 보여준 세계는 일본에서의 영화 경험과 조선적인 것에 대한 엘리트적 현실인식, 그리고조선의 무성영화기의 특성을 대중적으로 가미해 자신만의 세계를 형성했다고 볼 수 있다. 여성의 고난과 기차 이미지를 즐겨 사용했던 그의 영화가 추적해 올라가면 <누가 그녀를그렇게 만들었는가>와 같은 일본 경향 영화의 영향과 식민지 조선의 현실이 맞물린 풍경으로변화해 갔다고 볼 수 있다.

Yeast Two-hybrid System을 이용한 cTPx Ⅱ 결합단백질 탐색 및 분석

효모에는 5가지 종류의 thiol peroxid se 동위효소들인 cytoplasmic TPxⅠ, cTPxⅡ, cTPxⅢ, mitochodrial TPx (mTPx), 및 nuclear TPx (nTPx)가 존재하고 있다. 특히, cTPxⅡ는 다른 효모 TPx들과 비교해 볼 때 매우 낮은 peroxidase 활성을 보이나, cTPxⅡ를 제거한 cTPxⅡ mutant 균주는 심하게 성장이 저해되는 특징을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 효모에서의 cTPxⅡ의 생리학적 기능을 밝히는 연구의 첫 과정으로 cTPxⅡ와 상호 작용하는 단백질을 탐색하였다. Sacchromyces cerevisiae genomic DNA library에서 yeast two-hybrid system을 이용하여 cTPxⅡ와 상호 결합하는 단백질을 탐색하여 그 단백질들의 기능을 연구하여, 궁극적으로 cTPxⅡ의 생리기능을 밝히는데 이 연구의 목적을 두었다. There are five isoforms of thiol peroxidase in yeast. Each isoform was named after its subcellular localization such as cytoplasmic TPxⅠ, cTPxⅡ, cTPxⅢ, mitochondrial TPx (mTPx), and nuclear TPx (nTPx). Recently, we reported that unlike other TPx null mutants, cTPxⅡnull mutant showed a slow-growth phenotype. This observation suggests that cTPxⅡ might be involved in yeast cell growth. In this study, for a first step toward to investigate the physiological function of cTPxⅡ in yeast, we have identified a novel interaction between cTPxⅡ and various proteins by using the yeast two-hybrid system.
