범주형 자료에 대하여 탐색적 자료분석을 할 수 있는 기존의 여러 그림들을 변수의 수가 많아지면 시각적인 식별이 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 삼차원이상의 다차원 범주형 자료를 이차원 평면성에 표현할 수 있는 링차트(ring chart)를 제안한다. 각 칸의 확률값을 표현하는 링차트는 범주형 자료의 구조 전체를 시각적으로 파악할 수 있으며, 관측값을 표준화한 링차트는 변수들간의 연관성 여부를 시각적으로 판단하는데 유용한 정보를 제공한다. 삼차원이상의 자료에서는 이중 링차트(조건부 링차트)를 개발하여 일차 및 이차교호작용 검정까지도 가능하다. 또한, 관측값과 잔차를 동시에 표현한 잔차 링차트는 설정된 모형의 적합성 여부를 시각적으로 평가할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
Urinary Tract Infection Symptom Assessment 설문지의 한국어 번역본의 개발

Purpose: The aim of this study was to translate the Urinary Tract Infection Symptoms Assessment (UTISA) questionnaire, which assesses the severity and nuisance of symptoms and signs of uncomplicated urinary tract infection, into Korean with subsequent linguistic validation for clinical use and research. Materials and Methods: This self-administered questionnaire is composed of 14 items that cover the 7 most frequent symptoms and signs. After acquiring permission for use of the questionnaire in Korea from Bayer Health Care Pharmaceuticals Global Health Economics and Outcome Research, 2 bilingual linguists individually translated the original English version of the UTISA questionnaire into Korean, and the translations were then reconciled by the linguists and the authors. A preliminary Korean version was translated back into English and reconciled by another bilingual linguist to confirm proper forward translation of the UTISA questionnaire, and then a complete Korean version of the UTISA questionnaire was finished. Ten women with acute cystitis completed the Korean UTISA questionnaire and were then interviewed to confirm the final Korean version through cognitive debriefing. Results: Linguistic validation of the Korean version of the UTISA questionnaire was completed through forward translation and reconciliation, back-translation and reconciliation, cognitive debriefing, and finally, proofreading of the questionnaire as a instrument for assessing symptoms and signs of uncomplicated urinary tract infection. Conclusions: The UTISA questionnaire was translated into a Korean, and the translation was validated linguistically. Psychometric validation will be needed in a large set of patients with uncomplicated urinary tract infection. 고병원성조류인플루엔자는 2003년 12월 10일 충북 음성군에서 최초 발생한 이후 2004년 3월 20일 경기 양주시를 마지막으로 총 19건이 발생되었으며, 지난 5월 29일 경남 양산지역을 마지막으로 이동제한이 전국적으로 해제되었다. 정부에서는 2004년 9월 21일부로 국제수역사무국(OIE)에 국내종식상황을 통보하였고 이에 일본에서는 국내산 가금육의 수입중단조치를 10월 13일에 해제하기에 이르렀다. 그러나 6월 16일 인도네시아를 기점으로 베트남(6.29), 태국(7.6), 중국(7.6) 등 총 15개에서 재발$\cdot$확산되고 있으며, 태국에서는 이종간의 전파로 호랑이가 30여마리가 조류인플루엔자로 폐사하고 유사증상을 보이는 호랑이 30마리를 살처분하기(10월 21일)에 이르렀다.
