      • 자궁 경부의 편평상피 화생, 이형성과 콘딜롬에서 p53, Ki-67 및 HPV의 발현 양상

        To observe the expression of p53, Ki-67 and HPV type in the uterine cervical lesions, such as 11 cases of squamous metaplasia, 6 cases of CIN Ⅱ and 14 cases of condyloma accuminatum and to evaluate the correlationship between the results, the author has been carried out immunohiostochemical staining for monoclonal antibodies to p53, Ki-67 and in situ hybridizatiion of HPV nucleic acid. So, following results are obtained. 1. The HPV type 6 and 11 are negative in all cases of suamous metaplasia and CIN Ⅱ. 2. In condyloma accuminatum, the HPV type 16 and 18 are negative in all cases, but HPV 6 and 11 are positive in 9 cases out of 14 (65%). 3. The stain patterns of p53 in squamous metaplasia and CIN Ⅱ show similar findings but the areas of basal and reserve cell layers show more strong stain. 4. The stain pattern of Ki-67 in squamous metaplasia and CIN Ⅱ show high prolliferatlion. 5. In condyloma accuminatum, the expresseion of p53 show weakly reaction in general, but in cases of present nuclear enlargement and atypia, the stain degree show more stronger than only koilocyte presence. 6. The Ki-67 in condyloma accuminatum show high proliferation in all cases.

      • 자궁 경부의 상피내암, 침윤이 있는 상피내암과 침윤성 편평상피암에서 p53, Ki-67 및 HER-2/neu의 표출 양상

        To observe the expression of p53, Ki-67 and HER-2/neu in uterine cervical lesions, such as 10 cases of carcinoma in situ(CIS), 7 cases of carcinoma in situ with stromal invasion and 8 cases of invasive squamous cell carcinoma without carcinoma in situ, and to evaluate the corrleationship between results, the author has been carried out immunohistochemical staining with monoclonal antibodies to p53, Ki-67 and HER-2/neu. So, following results are obtained. 1. The p53 show negative reaction in all cases of CIS, and similar patterns in CIS with stromal invasion and invasive squamous cell carcinoma. 2. Ki-67 show high proliferation pattern in all cases and the basal cell show proliferating activity. 3. HER-2/neu show higher score in area of CIS than invasive area in stroma. 4. The stain pattern of HE-2/neu and p53 appeared to be inverse proportion to each other

      • 위선암에서 p53, MMP-2 및 TIMP-2의 표출

        Gastric adenocarcinoma is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. Many oncogens have been found in malignant tumor cells. Among these oncogene, MMP-2 and TIMP-2 show important role in invasivness and metastasis of malignant tumor cells. P53 is regulator of cellular proliferation, and the over expression of p53 relate to malignant transformation and prognosis. To evaluate the expression of MMP-2, TIMP-2, and p53 according to histopathologic features and the relation between these antigens and prognosis in gastric adenocarcinoma, we have performed immune staining, using mouse anti-MMP-2, mouse anti-p53, and mouse anti-TIMP-2 for 91 cases. The results were as follows; 1) The expression rates of MMP-2, TIMP-2, and p53 in gastric adenocacinoma were 58.2%, 57.1%, and 49.5%, respectively. 2) MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in gastric adenocarcinoma showed reverse correlation.(p<0.001) 3) MMP-2 showed more higher expression rates in intesinal type and sell differentiated form of gastric adenocarcinoma, and in cases showing more deeper invasion and metastasis to lymph nodes in advanced carcinoma. 4) TIMP-2 in advanced carcinoma showed more lower expression rates in cases showing more deeper invasion and metastasis to lymph nodes. 5) MMP-2 expression and TIMP-2 non-expression showed more higher frequency in intestinal type of gastric adenocarcinoma and in cases showing more deeper invasion depth in advanced carcinoma. 6) p53 in advanced carcinoma showed more higher expression rates in cases more deeper invasion and metastasis to lymph nodes. Above results indicated that MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in gastric adenocarcinoma shows reverse correlation, and may be show reverse relation according to progression, type, invasion depth, and metastasis to lymph node. The expression of p53 may be related to metastasis to lymph nodes and degree of depth in advanced carcinoma.

      • 위선암에서 Metallothionein과 p53의 표출

        Gastric adenocarcinoma is the most common malignate tumor in Korea. Many oncogenes have been found in malignant tumor cells. Among these oncogenes, MT has high affinity for metals such as copper and zinc, The fuction of MT is metabolism and detoxification of copper and zinc, The relation between the expression of MT and prognosis of patients in various cancers are reported but is controversial. p53 is a regulator of cellular proliferation, and the over expression of p53 relates to malignant transformation and prognosis. To evaluate the expression of MT and p53 according to histopathologic fearures and the relation between these antigens and prognosis in gastric adenocarcinoma, we have performed immune staining, using mouse anti-MT and mouse anti-p53. The results were as follows; 1) The expression rates of MT and p53 in gastric adenocacinoma were 67.6% and 56.3%, respectively. 2) MT in gastric adenocarcinoma showed statisfically significant higher expression rate under 59 years than above 60 years(P=0.043). p53 showed higher expression rates under 59 yerars, but there is no significant difference(P-0.078). 3) MT showed statisfically significant higher positive rates in cases showing invasion within the gastiric wall than cases showing invasion surrounding tissue(P=0.051), but no significant difference according to progression, differentiation, lymph node metastasis or not. 4) p53 showed especially higher expression rates in advanced carcinoma than in early carcinoma(P=0.065), and no significant difference according to differentiation, invasing depth, lymph metastasis or not. 5) Gastric adenocarcinomas expressing MT(+) p53(-) are early carcinoma 14 cases(73.7%), advanced carcinoma 5cases(26.3%). There is statisfically significant difference compared to carcinomas showing MT(+) p53(+), MT(-) p53(-), MT(-) p53(+)(P=0.003). According to differrentiation, progression, lymph node metastasis or not there is no significant difference. 6) Correlation between MT and p53 in gastric adenocarcinoma were not seen. Above result indicated that MT in gastric adenocarcinoma may be related to progression of cancer. Also significant defference in early carcinoma showing MT(+) p53(-) may be indicates relation to prognosis.

      • 진피내 모반, 경계 모반 및 악성 흑생종에서 p53과 Ki-67의 발현 양상

        The authors analyzed immunohistochemical expression of mutant p53 and Ki-67 in eleven cases of intradermal nevus, 7 cases of junctional nevus and 6 cases of malignant melanoma, so following results were obtained. Results: 1. The positive reaction of p53 protein was 0%(0/11) in intradermal nevus, 43%(3/7) in junctional nevus and 83%(5/6) in malignant melanoma. 2. The positive reaction of Ki-67 was 9%(1/11) in intradermal nevus and 14%(1/7) in junctiona nevus, but the labelling index were below 10% in both nevi. In malignant melanoma, the positive reaction of Ki-67 was appeared in 50% (3/6). but the labelling index were below 20% in all positive cases Above results suggested that the p53 expression was stronger in poor differentiated tumors, so the p53 protein expression appeared to be related to the histological differentiation degree. But the Ki-67 expression appeared to be more related to the prognosis according to tumor growth rate than histological differentiation degree Because the Ki-67 labelling index was low in malignant melanoma as expected, it was difficult to justify the idea that the growth and prognosis of malignant melanoma were justified only by the Ki-67 positive reaction and labelling index. But the Ki-67 positive cells were not almostly observed in intradermal nevus and junctional nevus, So the differnetial diagnosis between benign and malignant melanocytic tumors were appeared to be possible by Ki-67 positive reaction and labelling index.
