        글리옥살을 이용한 마직물의 무포름알데히드 방추가공 (제2보) : 팽윤제 PEG 와 고착방법의 영향 Effect of PEG and Fixation Methods

        The effects of concentration of PEG 600 and fixation processes(pad-dry-cure and wet-fixation) were investigated in terms of changes in mechanical and sorption properties of ramie fabrics treated with glyoxal. Glyoxal was selected as a crosslinking agent because of its non-toxicity, ready availability, and high reaction rate with cellulose molecules at relatively low curing temperature. Effect of PEG 600 during glyoxal finishing was also throughly studied. As the concentration of PEG 600 increased the wrinkle recovery angle, breaking strength, tear strength, water imbibition, moisture regain, and whiteness of treated ramie fabric increased. Application of wet-fixation method provided a further improvement in strength, softness, and moisture sorption properties of glyoxal treated ramie fabric.

        Effect of Organic Photosensitizers on the Antimicrobial Property of Polyurethane coated Leather

        Cow leather coated with polyurethane film that contains various organic photosensitizers was investigated to demonstrate the antimicrobial properties in the application of the material to protective clothing and home appliances. To prepare the antimicrobial coating on leather surfaces with high potency against microbes, photoactive agents, such as benzophenone (BP), 4,4’-bis(dimethylamino) benzophenone (MK), 4,4’-dihydroxybenzophenone (DHBP) and methylene blue (MB), were incorporated into polyurethane-based coating solutions. The photoactive antimicrobial agent treated leather samples were characterized by SEM, color appearance, color fastness against abrasion, and antimicrobial tests. The optical properties of organic photosensitizers indicated that active UV absorbance ranges were different: BP (around 250nm), MK (around 360 nm), DHBP (around 305 nm) and MB (around 295 nm &570 nm-685 nm). The intensity of the UV absorbance curve at the UVA light wavelength for the antimicrobial test showed the highest value with MK; subsequently,this was followed by MB, DHBP and BP in decreasing order. The treated-leather samples demonstrated excellent antibacterial activity under UVA light. The antimicrobial effects for the Staphylococcus aureus were superior to Escherichia coli. Moreover, the polyurethane finishing showed an effective durability to abrasion. The overall results indicated that DHBP is the most suitable PU coating additive to provide antimicrobial properties to leather as well as color and surface appearance than MK, MB, and BP.

        플라즈마 에칭 및 PdCl₂/SnCl₂ 촉매조건이 무전해 동도금 피막의 성능에 미치는 영향

        Cu/PET film composites were prepared by electroless copper plating method. In order to improve adhesion between electroless plated Cu layer and polyester (PET) film, the effect of pretreatment conditions such as etching method, mixed catalyst composition were investigated. Chemical etching and plasma treatment increased surface roughness in decreasing order of Ar>HCl>O₂〉NH₃. However, adhesion of Cu layer on PET film increased in the following order: O₂<Ar<HCl<NH₃. It indicated that appropriate surface roughness and introduction of affinitive functional group with Pd were key factors of improving adhesion of Cu layer. PET film was more finely etched by HCl solution, resulting in an improvement in adhesion between Cu layer and PET film. Plasma treatment with NH₃produced nitrogen atoms on PET film, which enhances chemisorption of Pd²^(+) on PET film, resulting in improved adhesion and shielding effectiveness of Cu layer deposited on the Pd catalyzed surface. Surface morphology of Cu plated Pet film revealed that Pd/Sn colloidal particles became more evenly distributed in the smaller size y increasing the molar ratio of PdCl²:SnCl² from 1:4 to 1:16. With increasing the molar ratio of mixed catalyst, adhesion and shielding effectiveness of Cu plated PET film were increased.

        실란-키토산 혼합용액을 이용한 면섬유 가공(I)

        Cotton fabric was treated with chitosan-silane mixed solution by pad-dry-cure process to improve the performance properties as well as antimicrobial activity and its washing durability. 98% deacethylated chitosan of 38$\times$10$^4$ molecular weight was selected as antimicrobial agent and methyltrimethoxysilane and gamma-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane were used as flexible binder. Cotton fabric was impregnated with 0.5% chitosan and silane of various concentration. Percent add-on of chitosan and silane increased as the concentration of silane increased resulting in improved antimicrobial activity and washing durability. An application of silane into chitosan finishing bath improved the performance properties of cotton fabric. Tear strength and crease resistance, softness, and whiteness of cotton fabric treated with chitosan-silane composite solution were efficiently improved without significant loss of tensile strength as compared with those treated with chitosan alone. In addition, further improvement of thermal stability of cotton was achieved with silane application.

        전기자극 치료를 위한 의료용 의복소재에 관한 연구

        Electroconductiye fabrics were prepared to improve the properties of conductive electrode pad material used for electrotherapy when it is subjected to various movement of human body. Highly stretchable and conductive fabrics were prepared by in-situ chemical polymerization of pyrrole on nylon/spandex stretch fabric. Electroless Cu plated polyester composites were also prepared and the effect of plasma pretreatment was investigated in order to improve adhesion between electroless plated Cu layer and polyester. Performance properties of prepared stretchable conductive fabric were evaluated in terms of conductivity changes as a function of tensile strain, repeated extension and continuous current application time and distance. The fabric conductivity was well maintained after 50 cycles of repeated extension and prolonged treatment time. And conductivity of prepared composites was well maintained over 12 cm distance. Furthermore, it was found that electrotherapy with prepared electrode pad could reduce contact allodynia and heat hypersensitivity. Therefore prepared electrode pad in this study can be practically useful for electrotherapy.

        화상분석 법을 이용한 세탁에 의한 섬유손상도 평가

        A system to detect fabric damage introduced by household washing machine was developed by using computer image processing and analysis. The images of Marquisette fabrics used for evaluating the gentleness of laundry machine action in the AHAM test method, were captured in gray levels using an image scanner with resolution of 600 dpi. The images were filtered using Gaussian filter and converted into binary images. The converted images were further treated by thinning method. From the images, the dislocations of cross-over points of the weft and warp were detected. Then fabric damage was evaluated by the ratio of total number of the dislocated cross-over point to the total number of cross-over points in observed area. In addition, the degree of fabric damage was also evaluated by the summation of the gap between the dislocated weft and imaginary reference weft. The results obtained with this image analysis system showed good correlation with those of human observers.

        세탁에 의한 섬유손상도 평가방법의 표준화를 위한 연구

        International and Korean standard test methods for evaluating the performance of electrical washing machines for household use were compare. Among various performance criteria, various test methods for evaluating fabric damage suffered by washing agitation during laundering were screened and their reliability and accuracy were compared. In addition, the effect of washing conditions on the fabric damage during laundering was also evaluated. As a result, it was revealed that it is necessary to establish additional standard test methods for evaluating fabric damage, entanglement of washing load, and mechanical detergent loss in the sump of sump of washing machines in Korean industrial standard. Among various test methods for evaluating fabric damage suffered by washing agitation, the test reliability of ISO, and modified IEC methods are better than that of EMPA and AHAM methods. Fabric damage increased severely as washing time, washing load, and the number of rinsing and extraction cycles increased.

        의류업체의 마일리지 제도가 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this research is to provide the apparel companies with a successful business strategy by analyzing the concept, function and current status of mileage programs; and examining how customer's attitude, recognition, experience, compensation method of the mileage program in apparel companies affect its brand loyalty. In this research simple random sampling was performed. The sample pool was based on 494 people which included college students and employed men and women in their twenties and thirties living in Seoul and in the metropolitan area. The data analysis was completed on the basis of SPSS package, using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, factor analysis, variation, Schefe test, regression, t-test, and χ². The following results were found in this research: It is effective to maintain brand loyalty through continuous relationship with consumers as fierce competition increases in apparel companies. A mileage program is a win/win strategy that allows clothing companies to increase its sales and brand loyalty while consumers feel greater satisfaction.

        전기전도성 의류소재의 제조 및 물성에 관한 연구

        Highly conductive polyaniline(PAn)-nylon 6 composite fabric was prepared by immersing the nylon 6 fabric in 0.5M aniline+0.35M HCI aqueous solution at 40℃ for 2hours. Polymerization was then followed by mixing the prepared oxidant and dopant solution (0.5M(NH_4)_2S_2O_8+0.35M HCl) to the diffusion bath at 5℃ for 30minutes. The conductivity of prepared PAn-nylon 6 composite fabrics reached as high as 0.5 x 10^-1S/cm. Their conductivity were significantly affected by the aniline and oxidant concentration. As compared to those of nylon 6 fabric, heat of fusion, melting point, the degree of crystallinity and tensile strength of PAn-nylon 6 did not significantly changed by inclusion of PAn. In the aspect of serviceability, whereas the fabric conductivity was significantly decreased after multiple washing, no significant changes in the fabric conductivity were observed after abrading the composite fabric over 50 cycles. However we found that the fabric conductivity could be recovered by acid re-doping with HCI.

        $PdCl_{2}$/KCl 혼합촉매에 의한 PET 직물의 무전해 동도금

        The effect of catalyzation conditions on microstructures of copper deposits, electormagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI SE), and physical properties of electroless copper plated polyester fabrics were investigated, in order to develop high quality EMI protective clothing. Optimum molar ration of $PdCl_{2}$/KCl and concentration of mixed catalyst were studied. EMI SE of fabrics higher than 40 dB could be obtained over a wide range of frequency level under optimum conditions. FE_SEM analysis of deposited Cu particles on PET fabric revealed that the size of Cu decreased with increasing molar ratio of $PdCl_{2}$/KCl up to 1/8, and that the particles were more evenly and compactly distributed. The size of Cu particles became bigger and less uniform as the molar ratio exceeded 1/8, resulting in a decrease in EMI SE. Optimum concentration of mixed catalyst is 0.01M $PdCl_{2}$/0.08 M KCl. Furthermore as the catalyzation temperature increased from 25$^{\circ}C$ to 40$^{\circ}C$, the EMI SE of Cu plated fabrics increased, whereas it dropped to about zero when catalyzation temperature exceeded over 40$^{\circ}C$.
