This paper presents a soft-switching technique of single-stage power conversion Matrix Converter of AC-AC converters Conventional hard-switching method is limited to operate at low switching frequency due to increased switching loss. In this paper, by additional auxiliary switch circuits, it is shown that the main switch of the matrix converter operate as a zero-voltage switches, and the auxiliary switch operate as a zero current switch. Finally, the soft-switching technique with auxiliary switches is compared with conventional hard-switching technique, and is analyzed by simulation.

This study developed a consecutive convexo-concave shaped shear reinforcement approach as an alternative for transverse crossties in basement walls. Test results revealed that the developed shear reinforcement is more favorable to restricting the opening of the inclined cracks and enhancing the shear capacity of the basement wall when compared with the conventional crossties.
고효율 운전이 가능한 지능형 무정전 전원장치에 관한 연구

In this paper, a control scheme with the capability of high efficiency, which is realized by predicting the conditions of a load power and an input power, is proposed for the uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Generally, on-line UPS system supplies a constant voltage and a constant frequency (CVCF). However, the efficiency of the On-line UPS system can be reduced due to the switching losses of semiconductor devices during the power conversion. The these losses are improved by the proposed smart UPS with the high efficiency drive system, which is realized by analysing and predicting the conditions of a load power and an input power.

In this paper, a control method using Sinusoidal Filter Controller of Silent Discharging Ozonizer is proposed and also the control methode performed robust control against variation of capacitance, command voltage and frequency. As the control system for this methode, Sinusoidal Filter Algorism can be simplified configuration of the power supply by using a low-pass filter. Through simulations and experiment results, the proposed control methode compensates for the high voltage waveform to the ozonizer.
Random PWM 기법을 이용한 무정전 전원장치의 노이즈 저감에 관한 연구

In this paper, Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS) Inverter system using Carrier Frequency Modulated PWM (CFM-PWM) is proposed to reduced harmonics and electromagnetic noise. Power conversion of UPS system is executed by the ON-OFF operation of semiconductor switching devices. However, this switching operation causes the surge and EMI which deteriorate the reliability of the UPS system. This Problems improved by Random PWM switching method. The simulation results of the proposed system was compared with the system using conventional method using Matlab/Simulink. The results show that the output voltage and current harmonics of the proposed UPS system significantly decreased and spread into wide band area by the proposed Carrier Frequency Modulated PWM(CFM-PWM) method based on the Space Vector Modulation.
가변주파수 스위칭 Flyback 컨버터를 이용한 자동차용 고압방전등 안정기의 설계

본 논문은 가변주파수 스위칭 방식의 flyback 컨버터를 이용한 자동차용 35[W]급 고휘도 방전 램프용 전자식 안정기의 고효율 제어시스템을 구현하였다. 또한 안정기 성능, 크기 그리고 효율을 고려하여 planar 변압기를 이용하여 flyback 컨버터를 설계하였다. HID 램프를 자동차에 적용하기 위해 복잡한 과도특성을 제어할 수 있는 매우 복잡한 제어회로와 고효율의 안정기의 제작이 요구되어진다. 제안된 전자식 안정기는 planar 변압기를 사용한 flyback 컨버터, full bridge 인버터와 숭압 정화장치로 구성되어 있으며, flyback 컨버터의 스위칭 주파수는 안정기에 입력 전압의 변화에 따라 제어되도록 설계하였고, planar 변압기를 사용하여, 안정기의 가격과 크기를 크게 절감할 수 있었다. 제안된 시스템에 대한 성능 및 효율은 여러 가지 실험을 통해 확인하였다. This paper presents high efficiency control system of automotive 35W electronic ballast for high intensity discharge(HID) lamp using switching flyback converter with variable frequency, Considering performance, size and efficiency of ballast, the flyback converter is designed with planar transformer in converter stage. HID lamp demands a highly efficient ballast and very complex control circuitry that can control complex transient state for applying to automotive. The proposed electronic ballast system is composed of a flyback converter using planar transformer, a full bridge inverter, and a step up ignitor. In this system, switching frequency of flyback converter is controlled by varying input voltage of HID ballast and the price and the size of HID ballast using planar transformer can be reduced. The performance and efficiency of the proposed system are verified through various the experiment results.
