In this study controller integrated heater modules using high voltage power were made for electric vehicles. The heat core and controller for the heater module were designed to improve the heater power density. We also investigated the performance characteristic(heating capacity, energy efficiency, pressure drop) of heater modules through the experiments. Therefore, the experimental results indicated that prototype of heater module had satisfactory performance. This study will contribute to developing the heating system for electric vehicle.

In this study, the heat dissipation analysis and design of power control unit for 48 V electric heater used in mild hybrid vehicles was performed. The heat sink of power control unit in electric heater was designed for enhancing reliability of the power device(MOSFET) under high temperature conditions. The temperature distribution and maximum temperature of power control unit in operating condition were analyzed with CFD(Computational fluid dynamic) method by each model. This study will contribute to designing the heat dissipation of power control unit for electric heater.
