Various vehicles for the disabled or elderly are used as a means of transportation. Most of them are designed for a passenger to drive using a on-off switch and a direction control switch. But some failures, such as out of control, often occur due to switch mal-function. In this paper, we designed a new vehicle for the disabled or elderly, which automatically follows a helper using a motion detecting sensor or which is controlled by a passenger’s smart phone or a joy stick. We implemented a mecanum wheel driven vehicle, a BLDC motor driver unit using a micro-controller, a kinect sensor control program that can detect motions, and smart phone application program based on android platform. Through experiments, the operations of it are confirmed to be safe and stable in 3 operation modes.

Most PCB manufacturers are applying automation processes to their production lines to improve the quality and productivity of PCB products. In particular, the PCB depaneling process, which is the final stage in the automation process, is an important factor for improving the reliability of PCB products. In this study, a smart DNC depaneling router was implemented by using hardware such as actuators, step motors and drivers, spindle motor, motion controller, host PC and tablet. This router is driven by a system program that includes a G-code compiler, a U/I program for the depaneling process, and a mobile application program containing a deep-learning engine. Through experiments, Using the deep-learning engine implemented with the appropriate learning data, it was confirmed that the bridges to be removed at the time of the depaneling process were decently detected.

With the development of economy, more and more public facilities and large factories come forth, it is imperative to seek some automatic patrol solutions for reducing costs. So, the implementation of an unmanned patrol vehicle controlled by smartphone is presented in this paper, which includes the mechanical design of the vehicle, the design of control unit based on micro-controller, the system program including navigation algorithm and app. programs based on android platform. The vehicle has been equipped with two differential driven wheels including encoders for navigation, and also contained a GPS sensor and geomagnetic sensor to navigate autonomously the predefined paths. Several experiments were conducted to verify the capability of the vehicle. From the results of experiments, we have been able to conform that the proposed navigation algorithm of the vehicle shows satisfactory performance in the navigation of the predefined paths.

Most power supplies used in small laboratories have a fixed structure, which provides up to three output voltages that can be used simultaneously, and these devices have only basic function to protect the internal circuit by overcurrent. In this study, we implemented a smart plug-in switching mode power supply using AC-DC converter, modular DC-DC converter, voltage sensing module, controller and tablet. This power supply is designed as a plug-in type and can be used with only the necessary output power module, and the function of diagnosing the power supply can be executed by the app program which incorporates the deep learning engine running on the tablet. Through experiments, using a deep learning engine that has been learned with appropriate data, it was confirmed that data for determining the failure of the power supply was detected.

In this study, we implement the electric heating system which is remotely controlled by a smartphone. The app. program is to control micro-controller through bluetooth communications, and it is to operate the electric heating system. In accordance with the amount of space needed, the proposed electric heating device with pressure-sensitive sensors and power semi-conductors can be assembled into arbitrary size. It also provides the ability to control the temperature in each unit cell of electric heating device. Therefore, compared with the existing system, the proposed system has a structure that can reduce electrical energy.

Babies in infancy communicate most by crying. Since it is a critical period in the brain development stage, a lot of effort is needed to understand the desire of the baby correctly. In this study, we introduce the analysis of research on babys crying and patterns, and how to classify them using artificial intelligence. The sound source consists of the baby’s crying sample from the existing research, and the pattern is stored and classified. It is transformed into spectrogram image data, visualized, analyzed and preprocessed, and used as learning data for CNN model. This study presents how to implement a system that classify baby’s crying with comparatively higher accuracy than existing research that uses patterns from the average of frequency measurements. If much more input data is verified by experts in the near future, it can be commercialized easily and immediately.
