The phenomenon of back corona generallly occurs in the industrial electrostatic precipitator when the resistivity of a precipitated layer of dust exceeds a value in the neighborhood of 5×10^(10)〔Ω-cm〕. In this paper a study is made on the relationship between electrical resistivity and chemical compositions and also on the mechanism of back corona. Components of Li, Na and Fe lower the resistivity. But, the resistivity is not the only factor of back corona. Back corona can be explained with relaxation time as tne fundamental parameter. As relaxation time is determined by some other factors rather than resistivity, new method protecting back corona call be developed.

This study is to increase recognition rate and to reduce processing time in the speaker recognition system. For processing time reduction we used only difference between average reference pattern and speaker's input pattern without using DTW which had been mainly used in pattern matching. For increasing recognition rate existing cepstrum weights are modified. Experimental results with ten speakers showed increase by 1.75%(95.25% from 93.5%) in speaker verification and 100% in speaker identification.

An electrostatic precipitator has two electrodes, one is a collecting electrode and the other is a discharging electrode. In choosing the shapes of electrodes, many factors, such as mechanical strength, anti-corrosion, and convenience of fixing or exchanging, must be considered. Especially a discharging electrode has special shapes in order to keep a stable corona discharge, i.e.to keep an efficient and stable precipitation. Experiments with some kinds of discharging electrodes show that there are stabler and more currents between electrodes with sharp edged electrodes and those with round electrodes, though a little difference in spark-starting-voltages between them could exist.

There are two kinds of data transmission communication method, namely, Analog communication method and Digital communication method. The latter has many excellent characteristics as compared with the former. In order to design excellent Digital Filter, the window function is studied in this paper. The conventional time-domain windowing requires N/2 stored values of the data window and N multiplications. A class of windows, called binary windows, for the frequency-domain implementation of the Discrete Fourier Transform is proposed. They do not require multiplications or stored constants ; rather, they are replaced by shift and add operations. These windows offer excellent sidelobe behavior compared with the conventional windows.

As an excitation system of the synchronous generator, an exciter which is directly connected to the main shaft, comprising some restrictions by the increasing capacity under the condition of commutation, has generally been used. In order to solve the restriction problem as well as to operate the generator without difficulty, it is desired to get rid of electrical sliding contacts such as brush and slip ring. To eliminate these electrical sliding contacts, several types of brushless generators have been developed, one of which being understood to be the self-excited brushless single-phase synchronous generator. In this paper, the results of experimental test about the characteristics are analyzed. There are not a few possibilities in the CT connection wherein the load current affects the exciting current.
