        『논의』의 ‘행복’에 관한 교육학적 의미

        This study investigates, based on Analects, if the Confucius' insights about the pursuit of happiness could still hold true in the 21st century, when a highly developed material civilization aggravates human mental breakdown and unhappiness. Confucius provided the following insights. First, practicing the Confucian principle of benevolence completes one's good life. He further proposed two ways of fulfilling this principle: one lies in the individual and the other in the relationship with others. Second, at the individual level, one should cultivate one's morals through continuous learning. Third, one should strive to establish qualitative relationships with others through the Confucian proprieties and sympathy, which emphasizes the importance of understanding others by puting oneself in other people's shoes. Ironically, the post-modem eudemonics of Confucius, often considered as the oldest idea, is certainly believed to have the power of healing the deformed society today, which boasts of its state-of-the-art technologies, and yet the members of the society feel unhappier than ever. Therefore, it is worthwhile to reconsider the Confucian eudemonics as part of "reviewing the old and learning the new," as Confucius described.

        루소의 교육과 아동의 행복

        This research aims at examination on Rousseau's blueprint for juvenile education, which is described in the second chapter of his best and most important book, Emile, and approaches the question to ask if his theory of education is worth practicing for children's welfare. Fundamentally, the purpose of this study lies in revealing that his faith in negative principle of education is logically related to juvenile's happiness. Rousseau's emphasis on the proposition that we should waste time forge nuine juvenile education suggests the direction of education for happy children and the importance of slow education theory in our society, where speediness is priority over anything else and we need to realize that happiness and welfare of children consists of waiting and slowing education philosophy. Most of all, it seems to Rousseau that the pathway to happiness of children lies here and now, not far away from the present. The ideal of juvenile education begins with self-loving and self-cherishing and it is achieved through setting children free from the conventional restraints and accepting children's natural rights. Rousseau reminds contemporary people that children can develop by plays and physical activities and can acquire proper balance themselves between desire and ability. Surely there is some criticism on Rousseau's education theory. Considering the phases of the times, however, it is clear that Rousseau is expressing concretely an innovative education project for juvenile's happy education.

        대학 발전의 미래 가치로서의 교양교육의 방향 모색

        This study is based on the view that the reestablishment and reinforcement of liberal arts education at university is what the society and the university should aim at for their advancement in terms of the future value. The results are following. First, the liberal arts education has been sustained in two main streams of the liberal education and the general education since it originated in the Ancient Greek Age and experienced some changes in the genuine meaning of the education. The spirit of liberal education is involved with the conception of leisure and freedom and occupied only by the privileged class, which therefore is considered opposite to that of vocational education. But liberal education was served as an opportunity for everyone to receive liberal arts education. The purpose of liberal arts education, which was concentrated on the liberal education and the theoretical aspect of education, sought for the intellectual excellence of human beings through training and development of their reason. Second, there were two attitudes which theoretically confirmed the definition of liberal arts education: one is a reason focused attitude which was concentrated on cultivation of human reason and mind on the basis of liberal education view; the other is a utilitarianism attitude purposed on practical side of education in terms of general education view. Regardless of the differences between the two angles, it is needless to say that the ultimate purpose of liberal arts education should involve both the liberal education for training of human mind and the general education for realizing what they learned in practice because the essential purpose of today's education must be to nurture a whole person. Third, one of the educationalists who dedicated themselves to improvement of liberal arts education's contents and method is a rationalistic educationalist, M. J. Adler, who thoroughly recognized the necessity and importance of liberal arts education in the early 20th century and put forth his whole energy on cultivation of genuinely liberal arts educated persons. His education programs contain a kind of modernity, what we are faced with in the present, and suggest some practical implications that we should attempt in order to achieve more desirable effects from the present education system. So it seems needed to review the past to find a guide into tomorrow. Finally, whether the liberal arts education may succeed or not may depend on so called "the inter-liberal arts subjects project" through an independent institute which covers all the works with liberal arts education within university. In short, it means that liberal arts education desperately needs specialization. When this is achieved, the liberal arts education surely serves as the major driving force to lead the growth of education quality and the improvement of university competitiveness to be speeded up effectively as well as individuals and society to be more matured and qualified.

        공자의 "논어" 관점에서 재조명해 본 교사리더십의 철학적 의미

        본 연구의 목적은 교육의 본질로 내면화된 교사리더십의 철학적 의미를 공자의 『논어』를 통해서 재조명해 보는데 두었다. 이런 목적을 달성하기 위해 먼저, 공자의 인간관과 교사 관, 교사리더십을 고찰하였다. 그 결 과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공자의 인간에 대한 기본적인 관점은 인본주의의 토대 위에서 어느 누구보다도 인 간 자신을 반성적으로 생각해 보고 자기 존재를 자각하였으며, 그리하여 최상의 인간적 이상을 군자의 체현 에 두고 있었다는 점에서, 그리고 인간의 도덕적 자각 가능성을 마련하고 인간답게 사는 도덕적 세계를 제시했다는 점에서, 현대인이 지녀야 할 바람직한 인간의 위상과 가치관 정립의 중요성을 시사해 준다. 이는 오늘날 우리 사회가 물질만능주의 가치에 경도 되어 인간적 가치나 건전한 인성의 발달이 오히려 평가절하 되고 있는 사회적 분위기에 경종이 될 것으로 사료된다. 둘째, 공자는 교사의 언행은 학생들의 모방 대상이므로 학생들에게 미치는 영향이 크다는 것을 역설한 후, 군자상이자 교사상으로 수기와 치인의 실천으로 스스로의 도덕적 인격수양 뿐만 아니라 이를 일상의 생활에서 실천하여 모범을 보임으로써 구성원들을 교화 하고 바른 길로 바른 길로 이끌어주는 리더로 구현되어야 함을 강조하고 있다. 셋째, 『논어』에 담겨있는 공 자 교사리더십의 철학적 의미는 호학정신을 바탕으로 자아성찰과 타인배려로서의 충. 서의 실천과 행위와 행동규범으로서의 예와 관련하여 구체적 상황에 대한 올바르고 정확한 현실판단과 가치판단으로서의 義의 중요성에 대한 인식과 실천을 재고시켜 주는데 있다. This study attempted to shed new light on teacher leadership through the lens of the Confucian Analects. To do this, Confucius` perspectives on human, teacher, and teacher leadership were examined, and the results are as follows: First, Confucius` humanism focused on self-recognition grounded on self-reflection, leading to the embodiment of an idealistic man of virtue. It also made it possible for human beings to raise moral awareness, and it further envisioned a moral world. All of them present a desirable image of man that human beings in modern society need to possess and also emphasize the importance of establishing values. It is expected to serve as a warning to us living in an age of materialism, where human values and sound personality development tend to be devalued. Second, Confucius stressed that teachers` words and behaviors put a great influence on their students. Through “self-cultivation” and “ruling others” as part of the desirable image of a gentleman and a teacher, teachers should exert an effort to build self-discipline and play the role of leader by putting this into practice as a role model in everyday life. Third, the philosophical meaning of Confucius` leadership as it appeared in the Analects is founded on the love of learning, and it helps us reconsider the importance of practicing loyalty and reciprocity through introspection and consideration of others, as well as the importance of righteousness to judge reality and values, with regards to proprieties as an act and a model of behavior.

        새로운 미래사회를 위한 대학 교양교육의 혁신

        This study aims at seeking ways to innovate university education for the new future society and the ways are searched on the basis of newly established liberal education at university. For this purpose, the features of new future society which can be considered as a symbol of microscopic social change are studied in terms of knowledge-information based society, digital revolution society, and globalized and diversified society. These features suggest that university education should correspond to the society of ``technological success`` with rapidity and a new paradigm. The change of ideals and functions in university education, popularized university education, and the change of the right people for society and time have indicated the need of an innovative university general education as a specific action plan of the new paradigm for university education. Therefore, the directions of the innovation for university general education are searched as the following. First, the purpose of liberal education at university lies in the realization of humans, morals, and creativity. Second, the contents of university general education contain reinforcement of the humanities education for the realization of morality and humanity, emphasis on tool-subjects for capable people at the age of globalization, and strengthening of art education for creativity expression. Third, the methods of liberal education at university include seminars and discoverist teaching process. Fourth, the circumstances of university general education need the interdisciplinary approach by establishing the division focused on the education only and various educational facilities. Through the innovation of university general education, the genuine purposes and functions of university education can be accomplished and fulfilled by procuring human resources quipped with humane qualities and professional or technical capabilities.

        J. Dewey의 생애에 따른 사상적 발전과정

        This article approaches to study on the process of changing thoughts and the characteristics of development in the thoughts according to John Dewey's career, which is divided into three parts, the earlier (1859-1888), the middle (1889-1930), and the later (1931-1952) parts. First, the earlier part of developing process in his thoughts is considered as the stage of formation in thinking. This period is the results of many accumulated experiences during Dewey's childhood, infinite intellectual inducements motivated by well-known previous scholars, and his own academic cultivation and meeting with people of various social experience. So this first period of the development in his thoughts is regarded as a foundation stone to build his thinking. Second, John Dewey was interested in the matters of philosophy, democracy, education, and others during the middle period of his career. He also revealed far more advancement in his academic and practical fields than he did during the first period. He exerted a lot of achievement in education and training of various academic areas through practical activities on and off campus. So this period is considered as the stage of development in his thoughts. Third, for 22 years until he died at the age of 93 on June 1st, 1952 after his retirement from Columbia University, John Dewey had never stopped devoting himself to active participation in social innovation and educational renovation through academic activities, authorship, and special lectures. It is true that he has had a great influence on philosophy, aesthetics, education, laws, political theories, and social sciences of the U.S.A. during the 20th century. This fact makes the later period of his career the perfect completion of his idea and learning for society. Through the developing process of John Dewey's building philosophical ideas and educational thoughts, we can realize that a philosopher's formation of thinking is related to his own personal inclination, sincere academic attitude, some advice from previous or present thinkers, and active ability to put what he learned into action. It can be also said that John Dewey's life and development of philosophy shows an example of learning attitude and an opportunity of reflection on today's learning depth to the later generation.

        객관적 품질과 가격의 상관관계 분석 - 1996년~2006년 소비자시대 상품테스트 분석결과를 중심으로

          상품이 첨단화되고 상품의 수가 증가하면서 어떤 제품이 좋은 품질의 제품인지 판단하는 일은 점점 더 어려워졌다. 그래서 소비자들은 종종 제품의 가격이 비쌀수록 좋은 상품이라고 판단하여 상품을 구매한다. 그러나 동일한 제품에 대해서도 다른 가격에 판매되는 가격분산이 존재하고, 가격과 품질의 상관관계가 정비례하지 않을 경우 소비자는 부당한 지불을 하게 된다. 이에 재화의 가격과 품질간의 상관관계를 연구하는 일은 소비자의 구매의사결정에 도움을 주고, 나아가 재화의 품질수준에 적정한 가격을 부여하기 위한 시장가격 정책 마련을 위한 자료를 제공할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.<BR>  이에 본 연구는 1996년 1월부터 2006년 4월까지 발행된 월간『소비자시대』의 상품테스트자료를 사용하여 제품의 가격과 품질간의 상관관계를 분석하였다.<BR>  분석 결과 첫째, 분석대상으로 사용된 제품의 가격과 품질간 상관관계는 상품에 따라 매우 상이하게 나타났다. 둘째, 유사 제품끼리 분류했을 때, 제품군에 따라 매우 상이한 상관관계를 보였다. 셋째, 고가제품이 오히려 부적상관관계를 나타내고 있었다. 넷째, 기간별로 품질과 가격의 상관관계 기복이 매우 심하였다. 다섯째, 제품별로 가격이 가장 높은 것으로 구매한 경우가 품질이 가장 좋은 것으로 구매한 경우보다 전체 가격의 약 26.46% 화폐손해를 보는 것으로 나타났다.<BR>  따라서 소비자들은 상품을 구매할 때 품질정보를 정확히 파악하여 상품을 구매해야 하며, 소비자교육을 통해 소비정보를 활용할 능력을 길러야 한다.   As a product gets advanced and the number of product gets increased, it has become difficult for consumers to judge a product of a good quality. Consumers have a tendency to use a product price as a simple indicator for product quality as products get more complicated. However, if a price dispersion exists and a correlation is not in direct proportion between a price and a quality, consumers should make an unreasonable payment.<BR>  In this study, we analyzed the correlation between a price and a quality of a product by using a product test by Consumer, a monthly magazine published from January 1996 till April 2006, as relevant data.<BR>  As a result of such an analysis, first, the correlation of a product used as a subject for the analysis was very different depending on a product. Second, correlation coefficients were different among product groups classified by product similarity during the analyzed period. Third, a high-priced product showed a negative correlation. Fourth, there were severe ups and downs of correlation between a price and a quality during the analyzed period. Fifth, buying the most expensive product can lead an approximately 26.46% overpayment compared to a buying the best quality product.<BR>  Thus, it is necessary for consumers to purchase a product by accurately finding out the information on quality in case of purchasing a product and cultivate an ability to utilize the information on consumption through an education for consumers.

        인-브랜드 자산과 호스트 브랜드 자산의 관계에서 브랜드 적합성의 조절효과 검증 연구:

        브랜드 마케팅 전략이 점차 고도화되면서 부품 또는 소재를 브랜딩하는 인-브랜딩 전략에 대한 관심이 점차 높아지고 있다. 최근 인-브랜드의 사용이 서비스 산업에까지 적용됨에도 대부분의 기존 연구는 제조업 기반의 상품에 대한 인-브랜드 효과를 설명하고 있어 서비스 산업에서의 인-브랜드 효과를 규명하는 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 서비스 산업 중 패밀리 레스토랑에서 인-브랜드와 호스트 브랜드 자산이 인-브랜드와 조합된 호스트 브랜드 자산에 미치는 영향과 두 브랜드 간 적합도가 미치는 상호작용 효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 가설검증을 위해 서울, 경기, 충청남도 지역에 거주하고 있는 대학생과 일반 직장인을 대상으로 온-오프라인을 통한 설문조사를 진행하여 최종 294부가 분석에 사용되었다. 연구 결과에 따르면 인-브랜드와 호스트 브랜드 자산 모두 인-브랜드와 조합된 호스트 브랜드 자산에 유의미한 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 가설과는 배치되게 두 브랜드 간 적합도가 미치는 효과는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않게 나타났다. Although the interest in the ingredient branding strategy grows and it extends to service industry, previous research tends to focus on ingredient branding strategy of manufacturing based products. This study extends the research scope to service industry and especially examines the moderating effects of perceived brand fit on the relationship between ingredient and host brand equity in the family restaurant industry. To test hypotheses, on/off line survey was conducted and data was collected from 294 respondents. The result shows that the ingredient and host brand equities positively have significant effects on the host brand equity combined with ingredient brands. However, the perceived brand fit between the ingredient and host brands do not have significant effects.
