Reflective dom-type artificial skies are effective tools in daylight research and design. However the artificial skies need to be designed carefully for design if they are to reproduce a desired sky luminance distribution faithfully. For daylighting studies during the building design process, the CIE overcast sky condition is the standard sky condition. But calibrating the luminance distribution whithin artificial skies to reproduce the CIE overcast sky is on highly time-consuming and difficult job. Therefore, a method to improve the calibration process is required. In addition, since the artificial skyes have a restricted space, they cause several measurement errors by thing such a scale and position of models.<br/> The purpose of this study was to develop calibration method for dome-type artificial skies using the RADIANCE program and to study the characteristics of measurement erroes in the artificial sky. An existing artificial sky in H university was calibration so that it reproduce the standard CIE overcast sky. The size and position of the physical scale model in the specific artificial sky were identified to be major factors for measurement errors.

RADIANCE 프로그램과 인터넷 환경을 이용한 조명시뮬레이션 시스템 개발

The prediction of illuminances from daylight and artificial lighting has been an important issue in the field of architecture. Architects traditionally have used scale models or various computer programs as tools for predicting the available illuminance in a building and for visualizing the overall lighting quality of the environment. The program requires accurate modeling of the geometric and photometric properties of a designed environment. RADIANCE is a program developed to aid lighting designers and architects by predicting the lighting levels and appearance of a space prior to construction of a building. The modeling of geometric property is usually conducted by commercially available CAD softwares. The modeling of photometric properties includes material color, texture and/or transmittance, daylight availability, and luminous intensity distribution of artificial light sources. The simulation itself uses backward ray-tracing technique to compute radiance values, which are typically arranged to form a photographic quality image. The purpose of this study is to develop a Radiance rendering system that operates automatically on the WWW environment.

축구 전용구장이 가지는 여러 지붕구조의 특성에 따라 경기장 잔디면의 조도 및 자연광량을 몬테카를로 방법과 광선추적기법을 적용하여 개발된 컴퓨터 프로그램에 의해 예측하고, 설계안에 의해 부족한 잔디면의 자연광량을 보충할 수 있는 인공조명시설의 제작방법을 레디언스(Radiance) 프로그램을 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 도출하여 제시하였다.
