보수와 진보 언론간의 갈등은 우리 언론의 객관성 및 공정성과 관련해 적지 않은 문제점들을 노정해 왔다. 이러한 갈등은 특히 이념적 성향이나 이해관계에 따라 언론사들의 첨예한 프레임 대결로 이어졌다. 본 연구는 언론사들과 직접적인 이해관계가 얽힌 ‘미디어 관련법’에 대한 언론사별 뉴스보도의 비교분석을 통해 이념적 성향에 따라 관련 뉴스프레임이 어떤 차이를 보이는지 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 미디어 관련법에 관한 보도량, 기사유형, 게재면, 정보원, 주요이슈에서 보수신문과 진보신문간 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 보도량에서는 진보신문이 보수신문에 비해 두 배 이상 많은 지면을 할애 했다. 정보원 이용을 살펴보면 진보신문은 노조와 시민단체, 보수신문은 정치권을 주요 정보원으로 활용한 것으로 나타났다. 주요 이슈에서는 보수신문은 산업 활성화 측면을, 진보신문은 언론장악 저지 측면을 주로 다루었다는 점에서 차이를 보였다. 프레임 분석결과, 우선 형식적 측면에서는 단편적인 사건을 다룬 일화적 프레임을 보수신문들 주로 사용한 반면 진보신문들은 관련 이슈의 원인과 배경을 다루는 주제적 프레임을 더 많이 사용한 것으로 관찰되었다. 내용적 측면에서는 갈등 프레임과 책임귀인 프레임이 보수 및 진보신문사 모두에서 주요 프레임을 분석되었다. 그러나 경제적 중요성의 경우 보수신문이 상대적으로 많이 다룬 반면 도덕성 프레임은 진보신문에서 현격히 많이 다룬 것으로 나타났다. 보수와 진보신문의 보도가 특정 프레임에 집중되어 있다는 점에서 각 신문사는 미디어 관련법 보도에 있어서 다양한 의견과 시각이 충분히 반영되지 않고 있는 것으로 풀이된다. Since the ‘media law’was suggested in December, 2008, the precipitated kinds of social and political conflict aroused the attention to the function about the reality definition of the suggestion. The conflict between the conservative and liberal media serve as a momentum of a huge suspicion on the objectiveness and fairness of the media. As the result of this study, in the qualitative characteristics, the aspect of report quantity, article type, insertion page, information resources, major issue was widely different. In the report quantity, liberal newspapers reported more than twice as conservative newspaper did. Concerning the information sources, it was noticeable that the liberal newspapers relied more on labor union and civil association while the conservative newspapers on political parties. Episodic frames appeared more frequently than thematic frames in the conservative newspapers whereas vice-versa in the liberal one. As the conservative and liberal newspapers focused on the specific frames, it was grasped that each press did not cover the various perspectives of the media law issues in their reporting.

During the last decade, most researchers have often used linear subspace-based and correlation filter-based algorithms actively for face recognition. In this paper, we compare and analyze the performance of them in illumination variation that prevent from accurate face recognition. Experimental results show that the correlation filter-based algorithms are robust in illumination variation, and the three correlation filter-based algorithms have similar recognition rates.
