In this study, the basic performance characteristics of a falling film type absorber for use in an absorption chiller were investigated. In order to improve the performance of the absorber, newly-designed heating pipes were tested. End Cross 38, End Cross 40, End Cross 26-2 V, End Dimple, and NF tubes were tested, as well as conventional tubes (Floral tube and End Cross 26 tube). If the falling film absorber is theoretically divided into an upper part that covers the top 35%, a middle part that covers the middle 35% below the upper part, and a lower part that covers the bottom 30%, a high heat transfer and vapor absorption process occurs in the upper region, with successively lower heat transfer and vapor absorption processes in the middle and lower parts. In the case of a low liquid film flow rate of less than 20 liquid film Re, the EC 26 tube has a high overall heat transfer coefficient, and at high liquid film flow rates of 20 to 30 liquid film Re, which are the operating conditions of actual absorption refrigerator commercial equipment, the EC 40 tube has the highest overall heat transfer coefficient. It was also found that the EC 2 V heat transfer tube has a high overall heat transfer coefficient. Finally, it was found that the Floral tube had a generally low heat transfer coefficient.

In this paper, the demonstration experiment for adsorption system using LOW Temp Heat Source is experimentally studied. In order to use wasted low temp heat source, adsorption system is designed. In addition, the system uses water as a refrigerant, which is more environmentally friendly and simpler in structure than other refrigeration systems.A 35kW class system is designed and made in the present study. According to the results of the cooling demonstration test, it can be confirmed that the system can be used in an actual environment.

In Ball end milling processes, characterized by use of rotating tools, the underformed chip volume varies periodically with the phase change of tool. In current study, as a new approach to analyze shear behaviors in the shear plane and chip-tool friction behaviors in the chip-tool contact region during an ball end milling process. In this approach, ball end milling process is transformed into an equivalent oblique cutting process. Experimental investigations for two sets of cutting tests i.e.. ball end milling and the equivalent oblique cutting tests were performed to verify the presented model.
