Total 210 heads of the dairy cattles imported in Chung Nam Area from Canada and others were used to obseve by the Clinico-hematological examination for the infection states of the So-called small type Piroplasmosis. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The infection ratio of the Piroplasma on the imported cows were showed 15 percent of 120 heads in first year(1969), 17% fo 90 in the second (1970) and the ratio of total 210 were about 16%. 2. Comparing with Kyung Pook Area the infection ratio of the Piroplasmosis were notably obtained low results. According to the distribution of the agent "ticks" they were seemed to be the different Area. 3. The dairy cattles which have already been rearing in this country seem to be able to infect without regard to age when if they were obtained a chance of infection 4. The application of the treatment medicines "Pamaquine and others" were temporarily proved to be good effects. And about 4 weeks after, treatment will be repeated reasonable to require improvement.
충남지역(忠南地域) 유우유방염(乳牛乳房炎)의 감염율(感染率) 및 원인균(原因菌)에 관한 연구(硏究)

A total of 820 dairy cattle were examined formastitis by California mastitis test method and 181 dairy cattle were examined bacteriologically according to the method of Connecticut mastitis control program. The results obtained were as followings: 1. Milk samples from 1.231(38.1%) of 3,225 quarters and 568(69.3%) of 820 dairy cattle were positive for mastitis by California mastitis test method. 2. Among 181 cattle examined bacteriologically by the method of Connecticut mastitis control program 159(22.9%) quarters of 102(56.4%) cattle were infected. Clinical mastitis was found in 5 cattle. 3. Important causative organisms were found to de Staphylococcus aureus(44.8%), Streptococcus agalactiae(21.5%), and non-str, agalactiae Streptococcus(26.4%). Corynebacterium ssp., Pseudomonas spp., Coliforms and Yeasts were also occasionally found to be causative organisms. 4. Strains of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from bovine udders were tested for sensitivity to antibiotics. The rates of resistant strain were 13.7%, 11.8%, 8.8%, 5.9%, 100%, 4.9% and 4.9% for penicillin G, streptomycin, terramycin, erythromycin, chloramphenicol, ampicillin and kanamycin, respectively.

Five hunderds and thirty four samples collected from some farms in Daejeon area were used to determine the antibiotic resideus in milk by T.T.C. test. The results were summerized as follows: 1) Among 250 random samples tested for one month, positives were 18.4% and suspects 21.2%. Another 122 sampls were divide into 3 groups with interval of 3 days, and 23% of positives and 36% of suspects were found. 2) From individual test of 162 samples from farms which produced positive milk, 5% of positives and 2% of suspects were appeared. Of the mixed milk 59% of them was found positive or suspect. 3) In order to protect antibiotic residues in marketing milk, milk must be tested with interval of 3 days. And if cows were treated with mastitis drug, it will be better to use the drug with food blue and not to be sold the milk up to 3 days or more after the treatment.
