A mechanical linkage system to measure the operating temperature of the piston is developed and installed to the engine. Actual temperature distribution is measured for comparison with the numerical results. Heat transfer at the piston is analyzed using an FEM program. Thermal boundary condition of piston surface is determined by analytical and empirical methods. The temperature distribution and the thermal deformation are obtained by the FEM program.
다단변동/충격하중하의 탄소섬유강화 복합재료의 피로강도 특성 및 잔류강도 저하거동에 관한 연구

Under the multi-step loading and impact loading, similar to real loading, fatigue tests have been carried out to examine the characteristics of a fatigue strength and a fatigue life and the degradation of the residual strength in carbon-epoxy composite materials. Two different shape of test specimen and test methods were used and the theory of cumulative damage and the residual strength degradation was applied to the test data of two parameter Weibull distribution. The static ultimate strength of the test piece used here in is observed to be relatively higher than that of existing composite materials, while fatigue life is shorter than that of estimated by residual strength degradation model when the stress level above 0.62. The fatigue life of the materials tested were observed the one of the high-low multi-step was longest and the one of the low-high next compared by Miner's value. It is proven that the prediction of fatigue life by the analysis of the theory of cumulative damage and degradation is resonable.
AISI 4340鋼의 引張特性 및 破壞靭性에 미치는 溫度의 影響에 관한 硏究

The K_(IC) value derived from CVN test were considerably different from measured value and it was difficult to predict the correct K_(IC) value of the materials under consideration. Compact tension and Charpy V―notch test in the invironment of high and low temperature on the specimen of AISI4340 steel have been conducted. The results may be sumerized as follows. The transition temperature by the impact absorbation energy range from - 50℃ and 150℃ and the impact energy from lower and high shelf have a tendencies of increasing with increase of the temperature. The measured K_(IC) value from CT test linearly increased with the increase of temperature. The K_(IC) value from the test fomular were derived and the error are within 6.8% against measured K_(IC) value.

This study targeted maintenance of architectural artworks, which were installed by the relevant law, but are being neglected in the aspect of facility management. Price of installing the architectural artworks nationwide, which were installed by the relevant law, stands at about 829.3 billion won as of April 2012. This study was begun from the critical mind as saying that these precious assets are outside the interests in the aspect of the facility management. A research scope and method were examined and analyzed several fundamental insufficiencies on the maintenance of architectural artworks including outdoor environmental sculptures amid urban environment in the aspect of the facility management, and were comparatively examined foreign cases. As a result of analysis, the more precise legal and institutional supplementation was analyzed to be necessary so that the public law and the private law cannot be collided for being possibly recognized as real estate value. Second, there is a need of being able to harmonize with a change in urban environment. In other words, a plan is sought that replaces after displaying for the certain period. Third, the public evaluation is needed that allows value to be possibly acknowledged when housing owner or possessor sells real estate.

The combustion process is the most important process in the S.I. engine since it determines performance and emissions. As the flame propagates slowly due to EGR or lean mixture, the fast burn system is widely used in the modern engines in order to improve engine performance. As the basic research for the fast burn system of the S.I engine, this study is aimed to identify the effects of the intake port design on the air motion inside a cylinder. In this study various intake ports were designed and tested. Swirl levels for the different intake ports were measured by a swirl meter and LDv.Also transient air motion inside a cylinder is further investigated following the motion of the boston. Out of the various intake ports tested in this study the masked shroud head (MSH) generates the highest swirl while keeping satisfactory volumetric efficiency. The MSH port also produces high level of turbulence by shearing action between cylinder wall and swirl.

본 연구의 목적은 흡기관내의 유체유동을 Lax-Wendroff 방법을 이용한 유한차분법으로 해석함으로서 엔진 흡기효율에 영향을 미치는 흡기관내 압력을 관찰하고 이를 이용한 흡기관계 최적 설계기술을 확립하고자 한다. In order to predict performance of the intake manifold, which is dependent on the length and diameter of a resonance pipe, the Fluid Dynamic Model for 4-cylinder diesel engine is developed using two step Lax-Wendroff method to solve the governing equations of air flow in the intake system. Boundary conditions at the intake valve, branch at the manifolds, and pipe end are also modeled. The results of the models are compared with the experimental results of a motored engine. The model is capable of predicting the real phenomena satisfactorily with reasonable computing time.
