부드러운 섬유 소재가 지닌 물성은 인간의 유연한 감성과 잘 어우러진다. 이러한 감성을 자극하는 예술작품은 내면에 울림과 풍부한 감동을 선사하며 삶을 아름답게 꾸며나간다. 자신을 드러내고 아름다움을 추구하는 것은 인간의 본능으로, 기원전 문명이 발달한 시점부터 장신구는 그 소재와 형식을 달리 할 뿐 끊임없이 제작되어왔다. 시대의 흐름에 따라 부와 신분의 상징을 드러내는 값비싼 귀금속으로 제작된 장신구는 20세기 현대미술의 급진적인 변화와 더불어 새로운 소재와 기법에 대한 탐구와 시도를 통해 그 영역을 무한히 확장하였다. 현대의 장신구 디자이너들은 색다른 소재와 형태를 추구한다. 그에 따른 결과들 중 최근 섬유소재를 혼용한 장신구들은 독특한 질감과 물성으로 주목받고 있다. 전통적인 장신구의 재료인 금속에 비해 상대적으로 가벼운 중량과 유연성을 지닌 섬유는 다양한 색감과 질감을 지닌다. 또한 신체를 감싸는 의상과 더욱 자연스럽고 밀접한 관계를 형성할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 텍스타일 장신구의 역사적 배경과 활용사례 등을 고찰하여 연구자의 디자인 개발에 그 바탕을 두고, 기하학적 모듈구조를 활용한 장신구 디자인을 전개함으로써 각기 다른 특성들의 결합과 충돌이 만들어내는 시각적 효과와 더불어, 신체의 움직임과 유려한 곡선에 의해 완성되는 가변적인 변형을 이끌고자 한다. 섬유 소재의 투명성과 수공예에 의한 불규칙성과 미묘한 차이, 자율성 등의 가변성은 기하학적 모듈의 자유로운 결합에 의해 신체와 보다 유기적이고 다양한 입체적 형태로 전개된다. 이처럼 본 연구는 기하학적 모듈 구조를 활용한 텍스타일 장신구디자인을 통해 다양한 시각적(촉각적 효과 등의 조형적 특성들을 분석하고, 다양한 디자인 영역에 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 본 연구가 기초 자료로써 역할 할 수 있기를 기대한다. The physical properties of soft textile materials are appealing to human sensibilities. The works of art that stimulate emotions have a rich interior resonance and decorate life beautifully. It is a human instinct to pursue beauty. Since the development of the earliest civilizations, ornaments have been produced constantly in different forms and styles. Ornaments made of expensive, precious metals originally served as symbols of wealth and status to the flow of the times infinitely expanded the area through the exploration and attempt of new material and technique along with the radical change of 20th century contemporary art. Modern ornaments designers pursue different materials and forms. Among many modern innovations, ornaments mixed with recently developed textile materials have attracted attention for their unique texture and physical properties. Combining metals, the material of traditional ornaments with relatively lightweight and flexible fibers creates a variety of colors and textures. Such combination can also be used to form a more natural and close relationship with body-wrapping costumes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the historical background and use of textile ornaments, and to develop ornament designs using geometric module structures created by the researcher. In addition, the study aims to initiate designs in which the movement and curvature of the body complete variable transformations. The free combination of geometric modules allows the transparency of the textile material, variability in irregularity, subtle differences due to handicraft, autonomy, etc., to be developed in more organic and variously cubic forms with the body. In short, this study analyzes formative characteristics such as various visual and tactile effects in the design of textile ornaments that use geometric module structures, and suggests possibilities that could be applied in various design areas in the future. Therefore, I hope that this study will provide basic data for researchers and designers.

주변환경에 반응하는 인터랙티브 텍스타일 디자인 사례연구

하루가 다르게 발전되는 소재, 기술의 진보는 이전과는 다른 방식의 상호작용을 통하여 제품과 인간과의 관계를 새롭게 정의할 수 있는 새로운 관점을 제공하고 있다. 자연적 환경 요소가 디자인의 일부가 되고, 그에 따른 반응으로써 다양한 형식으로 변화하는 인터랙티브 텍스타일 디자인 사례 연구를 통해 텍스타일 산업에 새로운 관점과 접근의 가능성을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 최근의 전시회나 서적에 소개된 다양한 텍스타일 디자인의 활용 사례를 통해, 그 흐름과 역할을 분석한다. 이 연구에서 소개한 사례는 외부 환경으로부터 오는 자극에 반응하여 다양한 변형과 변화를 유도하면서 특정한 기능의 수행을 목적으로 한다. 이처럼 새로운 소재와 기술의 통합은 평범한 일상에 특별한 기능과 혁신적 변화로써 환경과 제품 그리고 인간의 관계를 상호보완적 관계로써 접근할 수 있는 관점을 알 수 있었으며, 이를 바탕으로 본 연구가 앞으로의 인터랙티브 텍스타일 디자인을 위한 기초자료로써의 역할을 기대한다. The advancement of materials and technology offers a new perspective for design in order to redefine the relationship between people and products through different modes of interaction. This trend presents a new point of view and the possibility of new approaches to the textile industry through the introduction of textile design cases in a variety of formats that are responsive to natural elements. This study examines the recent trend of textile design to apply newly developed materials and technologies in the case of textile design prototypes that change and transform visually or physically in response to environmental stimulus. To this end, the study analyzes the meaning and role of this trend through a case study of a variety of textile designs presented in recent exhibitions and publications. Interactive textile design examples presented in this study induce a change in the material properties in accordance with the intention and the purpose of products. Interactive textile design performs particular functions in response to immediate surroundings. It informs the users of the condition sensitively in a variety of ways. Such integration of smart materials and technology provides exceptional performance and innovative changes in the mundane objects of everyday life. Interactive textile design provides a new point of view for people, environment, and surroundings in complementary relations. Therefore, it is expected that this study could serve as a basis for future experimental textile design through investigating various design cases that show innovative thinking about the role of new materials and technology.
