차량 하부에 장착된 스테빌라이저바는 차량이 곡선 구간을 선회할 때 차량의 자체를 유지해 줌으로서 차량 주행을 보다 안정적으로 유지해 준다. 스테빌라이저바는 중실과 중공 타입 2가지가 있으며, 차량의 경량화를 위해 중공 형태의 스테빌라이저바의 적용이 늘고 있다. 차량의 경량화를 위한 중공 스테빌라이저바는 중실에 비해 경량화는 달성하였으나 국부적인 응력증가로 인해 내구수명 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 이러한 내구감소에 대한 대안으로서 응력이 높은 구간에는 단면을 증대하고, 응력이 낮은 구간에는 단면을 감소시켜 중량 및 응력 최적화하는 설계 및 제조 기술로서 요구하는 내구 수명을 보장할 수 있다. The stabilizer bar mounted on the underbody of a vehicle makes for a more comfortable ride by keeping the vehicle level when it is cornering. Two types of stabilizer bars are available: solid and tubular. To reduce the vehicle weight in accordance with weight reduction requirements, tubular stabilizer bars are increasingly being used. Tubular stabilizer bars achieved lighter vehicle weight compared to solid stabilizer bars, but demonstrated a tendency for decreased durability life due to local stress increases. As an alternative to this reduced durability, it is possible to ensure the durability life required with a design and manufacturing technology to increase the cross-section in areas with high stress and decrease the cross-section in areas with low stress to optimize both the weight and the stress.

차량 하부에 장착된 스테빌라이저바는 차량이 곡선 구간을 선회할 때 차량의 자체를 유지해 줌으로서 차량 주행을 보다 편안하게 해 준다. 스테빌라이저바는 중실과 중공 타입 2가지가 있으며, 차량의 경량화를 위해 중공 형태의 스테빌라이저바의 적용이 늘고 있다. 차량의 경량화를 위한 중공 스테빌라이저바는 중실에 비해 무게가 34% 이상 경량화가 가능하지만 경량화 비율이 높아질수록 제품의 내구 수명은 급격하게 감소하는 경향을 나타낸다. 이러한 내구 수명 감소에 대한 대책으로서 소재의 고강도 및 고경도 소재를 적용하거나 쇼트피닝 공법을 개선 하는 등의 노력을 통해 내구 수명을 보장할 수 있다. Stabilizer bars are available in two types: solid and tube. To lighten the weight of the vehicle, and owing to weight reduction requirements, tubular stabilizer bars are increasingly being used. Tubular stabilizer bars can be fabricated to be over 34% lighter than solid bars, but the lifetime of the product tends to decrease rapidly as the weight ratio increases. However, the durability can be improved by utilizing high-strength and high-hardness materials for the stabilizer bar or by improving the shot peening method.

The effects of re-peening on the fatigue damaged material are studied in this paper. The effects of re-peening process on surface hardness, surface roughness, surface compressive residual stress, and fatigue life are investigated. The results can be summarized in brief as follows: The depth of hardening layer was increased by re-peening process. There is no large variation of the surface roughness by re-peening process. The compressive residual stress of shot-peened specimen decreases under the fatigue loading and then increases again by re-peening process. Re-peening process increases the fatigue lifo of shot-peened and fatigue damaged specimen. The increase of fatigue lift under high stress level is much higher than under low stress level.

The fatigue characteristics of re-peened SM45C steel are investigated in this paper. Re-peening<br/> process is applied to the specimen after the shot peened specimen undergoes the fatigue damage.<br/> Surface hardness, surface roughness, surface compressive residual stress, and fatigue life are also<br/> examined. The experimental results shows that the compressive residual stress of shot-peened specimen<br/> decreases under the fatigue loading and then increases again by re-peening process. The shot peening process is most often used to improve fatigue properties of metal parts. Shot<br/> peening involves modifications of the surface and subsurface condition of a material that can be<br/> described by the change of the residual stresses, the hardness, and the surface roughness.<br/> In this study, the results of observation on the arc height, surface roughness, hardness and residual<br/> stress of a Almen strip(SAE 1070) shot peened were obtained.<br/> Experimental results show that the increase of arc height is tremendous by shot velocity and<br/> expoursure time. Also show that the increase of surface roughness, hardness and compressive residual<br/> stress of Almen strip by shot velocity.

In this paper, the development of the simulation system deciding the coiled shape of coil spring from design shape is discussed. The developed system is based on the iterative nonlinear finite element analysis for the hot setting and cold setting process. the developed program calculated the reverse setting value from the comparison between design and set shape after the each analysis and apply those on the coiled formed shape of spring as the initial shape of next iteration of analysis.
