황금 에탄올 추출물이 IGF-II로 유도된 $HIF-1{\alpha}$와 VEGE 발현 억제에 미치는 영향

Background and Objective : Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease characterized by angiogenesis. It has been reported that growth factor as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-II are overexpressed in psoriatic epidermis. This stydy was carried out for whether SB extracts have an anti-angiogenic effect for angiogenic factor. Method : To investigate the inhibitory effect of VEGF expression by the SB extracts, we performed MTS assay, western blots using HaCaT cells. HaCaT cells were pretreated with SB extracts for 1 hour followed by treatment with IGF-II. Result : SB extracts significantly reduced IGF-II induced HIF-1 ${\alpha}$ protein level via p53 and MAPK pathway in HaCaT cells. Also, SB extracts inhibited IGF-II induced VEGF mRNA and protein expression levels in the HaCaT keratinocytes. Conclusion : These results suggest that inhibition of HIF-1 ${\alpha}$ and VEGF expressions by SB extracts contributes to the anti-angiogenic effects.

여드름을 중심으로 한 피부질환 환자의 삶의 질

Background : Quality of life(Qol) is a broad concept that incorporates all aspects of an individual's existence. There is many study about Qol of the patient with dermatic disease in the west, but in korea there is few study, particularly for oriental medical academic world. Objective : The purpose of this study is to Investigate the influence of dermatic disease, particularly acne on the Qol by using the korean version of skindex-29. Method : We measured the Qol of Kyungwon university student participating in Dongseo health examination by using the Korean version of Skindex-29. A total of 535 students were enrolled In this study. Results are reported as 3 scales scores (functions, emotions, and symptoms) and a composite score (average scale score). Result : 1) There were no statistically significant gender-related differences in Qol scores in patient group with acne. 2) There were no significant correlation between Age Duration and Qol socres in patient group with acne. 3) Acne group marked higher Qol scores than contact dermatitis and normal group (lower than Acne with atopic dermatitis group) within emotional scales. 4) Acne group marked higher Qol scores than scar, tinea cruris, and normal group (lower than Acne with atopic dermatitis group) within functional and total scales. 5) Acne group marked higher Qol scores than tinea cruris and normal group (lower than Atopic dermatitis group) within symptom scales. 6) In acne group that feel the necessity of medical treatment, group that be treated by occidental medical method marked lower Qol scores than group that don't be treated within functional, symptom, and total scales. 7) In acne group that don't be treated, group that feel the necessity of medical treatment marked higher Qol scores than group that don't feel within emotional, functional, and total scales. 8) Acne group that don't fee the necessity of medical treatment and be treated marked high scores than normal group within all scales. Conclusion : Acne is sometimes thought of as unimportant, but Acne significantly affects patient's Qol. Occidental medical treatment can help Acne patients to improve Qol. Even if someone who suffering from acne feel that he don't need to be treated, he had lower Qol than healthy controls. And we can expect that proper occidental medical treatment help him. But few study have discuss whether oriental medical method can improve Qol of acne patients. From now on we expect interesting study that measure effect of oriental medical therapy on Qol of Acne patients and compare with occidental medical therapy by using Qol mesure instrument.

상한론 처방을 이용한 아토피성 피부염 환자 1례 보고

Introduction : Atopic dermatitis is very epidermic disease in these days. Atopic dermatitis is difficult for patient to be treated because there is no specific treatment. The oriental method of atopic dermatitis is varied as patient situation and doctor's view point. The Treatise on Febrile Diseases(傷寒論) may be a hint for atopy disease. Object: Although we use various method such as acupucture, aroma therapy, a medicine for external use, we use the two decoctions in the Treatise on Febrile Diseases according to differentiation of syndromes and abdominal diagnosis. Result : After inpatient treatment in 21 days, the itching, redness, exudation, crust, lichen get better and insomnia and constipation was removed quickly. The SCORAD index is decreased from 84.2 to 25.9. Conclusion : These decoction can treat the atopic dermatitis although there is no symptom in atopy because we cure the all situation of the patient. We can cure the atopic dermatitis not only by routine remedy for various symptoms but also by diagnosis and treatment based on overall analysis of symptoms and signs.

가미계지탕(加味桂枝湯)이 알레르기 비염에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구

This study is for Gamigyejitang's effects on the histological change s of allergic rhinitis. for this purpose, the changes of the mucosa epithelium and the submucosa tissue of nose were observed and the effects on neutrophil count and eosinophil count in blood were estimated. The rats were divided into normal group, control group and experimental group. Control group was administered normal saline and experimental group was administerd Gamigyejitang. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The epithelium layer of experimental group was restored to normal thickness and state nearly. 2. The submucosa tissue of experimental group was restored to normal state nearly. 3. The neutrophil count and eosinophil count were decreased in the experimental group(Gamigyejitang treated group) as compared with the control group but not significantly. According to above results, it is supposed that Gamigyejitang has considerable effect on allergic rhinitis and could be applicated to treat the nasal mucosa edema and several symptoms.

식체(食滯)를 원인으로 진단한 혈관신경성 부종(퀸케 부종)의 2례 보고

Object : In this study, the effect of herb medication and acupuncture against angioneurotic edema was investigated. Method & Result : The symptoms of angioneurotic edema such as edema, redness, tenderness, itching were determined by using an arbirary definition and angioneurotic edema lesion was checked by taking pictures. These patients were treated by herb-medication and acupuncture. In the result, their symptoms were disappeared rapidly. Conclusion : This study suggests that herb-medication and acupuncture were effective treatment of angioneurotic edema. So further research is needed continuously.

포중익기탕(補中益氣湯)이 알레르기 비염(鼻炎) 유발 마우스에 미치는 효과(效果)

Objectives: Maier symptoms of allergic rhinitis are nasal obstructions, sneezing and watery rhinorrhea. When exposed to certain allergens, the IgE covered mast cells degranulate and release inflammatory mediators and cytokines which result in a local inflammatory reaction. In many recent studies, molecular biological methods have been used to investigate the role of cytokines in pathogenesis and new therapeutic targets of allergic rhinitis. This experimental study was done to reveal the effects of the Bojungikgi-tang on the allergic rhinitis. We have studied effect of mice on OVA-induced production of IL-4, IL-5, $INF-{\gamma}$ by murine splenocytes and effect of OVA-induced Total IgE and OVA-specific IgE Meterial and Metheds: 21 BALB/c rats were divided into three groups: normal group, control group, experimental group. To induce the allergic rhinitis in control group and experimental group, rats were sentitized intraperitioneally with 0.1% ovalbumin solution 3 times at intervals of 2 weeks. Then intranasal sensitization was performed by diffusing 0.1% ovalbumin solution 3 times at intervals of 2 days for a week. After that time, rats in experimental group were oral administration treated by the Bojuogikgi-tang fer 28 days. We observed changes of IL-4, IL-5, $INF-{\gamma}$, Total IgE and OVA-specific IgE. We used independent-test statistically. Results: 1. In IL-4 study, Bojungikgi-tang treated group didn't show significant differences. 2. In IL-5 study, Bojungikgi-tang treated group shows significant differences. 3. In $INF-{\gamma}$ study, Bojungikgi-tang treated group shows significant differences. 4. In Total IgE, Bojungikgi-tang treated group shows significant differences. 5. In OVA-specific IgE, Bojungikgi-tang treated group didn't show significant differences. According to this result, Bojungikgi-tang was concluded to be effective on lowering the total IgE. Through this. Bojungikgi tang seems to reduce the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. More studies are required to know exact mechanism of Bojungikgi tang to show the anti allergenic effect.

소청용장(小靑龍湯)이 생쥐의 폐(肺) 대식세포(大食細胞) Cytokine 귀전자(遣傳子) 발현에 미치는 영향

In many recent studies, molecular biological methods have been used to investigate the role of cytokines in pathogenesis of lung disease. This Experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of Sochungyong-tang on gene expressions in Mouse Alveolar Macrophage. Fer this purpose, we observed the cytokines ($IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6, IL-10, iNOS, $MIP-1{\alpha},\;MIP-1{\beta},\;MIP-1{\gamma},\;TGF-{\beta},\;TNF-{\alpha}$). We picked the alveolar macrophage out of mice and cultured it. We analyzed the cytokine gene expression by reverse transcription-PCR. The results obtained were as follows : 1 . Sochungyong-tang showed inhibitory effects on $IL-1{\beta}$ in time and concentration. 2. Sochungyong-tang showed inhibitory effects on IL-6 in time and concentration. 3. Sochungyong-tang showed inhibitory effects on IL-10 in concentration. 4. Sochungyong-tang showed inhibitory effects on iNOS. 5. Sochungyong-tang showed inhibitory effects on $TGF-{\beta}$ in time and concentration. 6. Sochungyong-tang showed on inhibitory effects on $MIP-1{\alpha},\;MIP-1{\beta},\;MIP-1{\gamma}$, $TCF-{\beta}$, $TNF-{\alpha}$. According to above results, it is supposed that Sochungyong-tang has the inhibitory effects on cytokine gene expression in mouse alveolar macrophage and can be usefully applied for curing inflammatory process of lung disease. Advanced studies are required to investigate the cure mechanism of Sochungyong-tang in the future.

외치요법을 위주로 한 아토피 피부염 환자 증례

Object : In this study, the effect of herbal external therapy, aromatherapy, herb medication against atopic dermatitis was investigated. Method : Atopic dermatitis grade and the effect of medication was determined using Kunz type and SCORAD index. Atopic dermatitos lesion was checked by taking pictures Result : The patient's admission SCORAD index was 74.2 but during 32 days admission treatment the patients's symptoms are getting reduced. At last when she discharged, the SCORAD index was 16.1. Conclusion : In this study, herbal external therapy, aromatherapy and herb medication were shown to treat atopic dermatitis effectively by decreasing itching, oozing, crust, dryness, lichenification. It is very possible that external therapy can offer a valuable mode of the treatment of not only atopic dermatitis but also another eczema.

신이청매음(辛夷淸肺飮)이 알레르기 비염(鼻炎)에 미처는 효과(效果)에 대한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究)

Objectives: It has a growing interest in the prevention and medical treatment of allergic rhinitis. According to many studies, it's known that Sinicheongpye-um has the inhibitory effect on the allergic rhinitis. We have studied effect of the mice on OVA-induced Production of IL-4, IL-5, $Interferone-{\gamma}$ by Murine Splenocytes and effect of OVA-induced Total IgE. Methods: Mixing Ovalbumin(OVA) $10{\mu}g$ into PBS(phoshate buffered saline) and $Al(OH)_3$, gel solution and changing into $1\;m{\ell}$, we made it into OVA solution. That was administered to normal group. After the last administration into abdominal cavity, we caused allergic rhinitis in nasal cavity of mouse of control group and sample group administering 0.1% solution dropwise 3 times a day for 7 days. Keeping separated serum at -20 degree and after refloating spleen cells, cultivating the cells and centrifuging the upper liquid and keeping it at -20 degree, we measured the amount of IL-4. IL-5, $Interferone-{\gamma}$ and OVA-induced Total IgE by ELISA. Results: 1. In Total IgE, Sinichengpae-um treated group was proved significant inhibitory effect.(p<0.05) 2. In IL-4 study, Sinichengpae-um treated group was proved significant inhibitory effect.(p<0.005) 3. In IL-4 study, Sinichengpae-um treated group was proved significant inhibitory effect.(p<0.001) 4. In $Interferone-{\gamma}$ study, Sinichengpae-um treated group showed a increasing tendency. Conclusion: Based on the above result, it is considered that Sinichengpae-um has the inhibitory effect on the allergic rhinitis of mice and suggested thai it could be used in relieving patients of the symptoms which are caused by allergic rhinitis.

Ramsay Hunt Syndrome을 동반한 성대마비환자 1례 증례보고

Objective : This study was designed to evaluate the effects of oriental medicine therapy on Vocal cord paralysis with Ramsay Hunt syn. Methods & Result : The clinical data was analyzed on a patient with Vocal cord paralysis with Ramsay Hunt syn. whose main symptoms were right facial palsy, auricle pain, dysphagia and hoarseness. The patient was treated by the acupucture and Herb-medicine.. As the result, symptoms are improved. Conclusion : This result suggest that the acupucture and Herb-medicine. was effective treatment of Vocal cord paralysis. So futher research is needed continuously.
