FDTD 방법을 이용한 Microstrip 특성 해석에 관한 연구

The important electrical paramenters for microstrip line-design are effective dielectric constant and characteristic impedance. In this paper, a direct three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method is applied for the full-wave analysis of microstrip line and from the time-domain results, freguency-dependent effective dielectric constant and characteristic impedance are calculated by the Fourier transform and compared with the published results. When H is greater then W, FDTD differ from empirical formaula about 2.5%. When W is greater then H, FDTD has difference about 0.5% But, at the high freguency, FDTD is well agreed with empirical method. Also, scattering coefficient of the microstrip discontinuity is calculated over a large freguency range. Further investigation on different computer-memory-saving scheme will make this methold more suitable for CAD purposes.

An Ku-band monolithic two-stage low noise amplifier(LNA) with 0.15×140um and 0.25×200um HEMTs is designed. Source inductances are added to obtain both low noise figure and acceptable input match, and also to improve the stability of the amplifier. The matching circuits are cptimized by means of Super Compact. Simulation results reveal that 0.93㏈ noise figure and 20.44㏈ gain can be obtained for the 11.7 - 12.2GHz band. Variation test shows that the yield of 62.5% can be achieved for 10% variations of L, C and gate width, Small signal parameters used for simulation are based on the data from ETRI foundary.
