디젤엔진은 기동 정지 시간이 빠르고 내구성과 신뢰성이 높아 발전소의 비상 발전기뿐 아니라 제한된 도서지역의 발전용으로 유용하게 사용되고 있다. 그러나 디젤엔진에 고진동이 발생될 경우 엔진 구조물 자체의 손상뿐 아니라 운전 신뢰성을 저해하는 요소가 될 수 있다. 본 논문은 고 진동으로 인하여 수년간 출력을 감발하여 운전되었던 10㎿ 급 발전용 디젤엔진의 고 진동 원인을 분석하기 위하여 수행한 시험 및 해석과 대책 수립에 대하여 기술하였다. 진동의 원인으로는 발전기 축의 비틀림 가진으로 인한 엔진 구조물의 공진으로 분석되었으며 수립된 대책을 실제 발전소에 적용하여 양호한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. Diesel engines are widely used as a power supply for an isolated island as well as an emergency power supply for a large-cap power plant because of its rapid response to operation, high reliability and durability. However, diesel engines are also vulnerable to having damages or degradation of reliability when a high level of vibration is generated into it. This paper shows experiments and analysis to determine causes of high vibration phenomena in a large-scale diesel engine which has been experienced various power decreasing for several years due to the high level of vibration. The main cause of the high vibration is identified to be a resonance created by torsional vibration of its crank axis and an appropriate countermeasures we have made worked well when it is applied to the field tests.

Induction motors are the workhorse of our industry because of their versatility and robustness. The diagnosis of mechanical load and power transmission system failures is usually carried out through mechanical signals such as vibration signatures, acoustic emissions, motor speed envelope. The motor faults including mechanical rotor imbalances, broken rotor bar, bearing failure and eccentricities problems are reflected in electric, electromagnetic and mechanical quantities. The recent research has been directed toward electrical monitoring of the motor with emphasis on inspecting the stator current of the motor, The stator current spectrum has been widely used for fault detection in induction motor systems. The motor current signature analysis is the useful technique to assess machine electrical condition. This paper describes the motor condition detected by the current signatures Paralleled with vibration signatures analysis of induction motors with the roller bearing and the journal bearing type for large vertical pumps in power plant as examples to discuss for motor fault detection and diagnosis.

Water leak for the water-cooled generator stator windings affects seriously the availability and the reliability of power plants. Leak test program for the stator windings is generally conducted in the power plant during every outage in order to confirm leak free. But it is so difficult to identify water absorption in the insulation of each winding because of the absence of adequate test equipment for the generator windings. In this paper, it is described as the new developed water absorption measurement equipment for water cooled generator stator windings and its verification using some experiments It is also introduced to the im plication of the developed equipment in power plant.
진동 해석을 통한 300 MW급 저압터빈 블레이드의 손상 원인 규명

The failure of blades frequently happened in the 300 MW LP(low pressure) turbine until now and they are maintaining the blades periodically during outage. So the blade-disk system is analysed by FEM in order to identify the main cause of failure of blade row. It is found that the stress of root's hole is highest in comparison with other parts from the result of the steady stress analysis. Also, the two dangerous frequencies which is related to the resonance condition are found in the interference diagram. One is 1,316 Hz. The other is 2,981 Hz which is related to the 1 nozzle passing frequency. The dynamic stress analysis is performed to identify more accurate root cause for failure of blade row It is confirmed that the dynamic stress of the former is higher than one of the latter From these results, it is concluded that the former has deeply something to do with the failure of blades more than the tatter. Based on versatile investigation and deliberation, the change of blade's grouping is determined to avoid the resonance condition with the operating speed. After the blade grouping is changed, the former frequency vanish completely but the latter is still in existence in the interference diagram. Fortunately, It is confirmed that the dynamic stress of the new blade grouping is lower than one of the old blade grouping. 2 years has passed since modification and the LP turbine is operated well without failure so far.

An unwanted outage of power unit can be occurred by significant insulation damage due to water absorption for generator stator bars. Reliable absorption test and diagnostics of water cooled generator stator bars are important to ensure the availability of power plant and to reduce maintenance cost by generator accident. It is described that the test method and the several stochastic evaluation methods for generator stator bar absorption. It is evaluated that the suggested methods can be used for reliable water absorption diagnosis of bar insulation by analysing the actual test result for generator stator bars in power plant.
