In order to monitor the developmental features of embryos, larvae, and juveniles of chub mackerel, Scomber japonicus, the fertilized eggs were obtained by artificial insemination. The fertilized eggs were spherical in shape and floated separately. Their membrane and yolk having 1 oil globule were transparent. The transparent eggs, having one oil drop in the yolk, were 0.94~1.02 mm(mean, 0.95±0.03 mm) in diameter. The fertilized eggs started hatching at 51 hrs after fertilization in 20±0.5℃ water. The total length of the hatched larvae was 2.52~3.0 mm(mean, 2.75±0.04 mm). At hatching, the larva, with the mouth and anus not opened yet, had yolk sack, 28~31 myomeres and eyes with melanophore. Yolk completely 2 days after hatching and the total length of post-larvae 3.12~3.63 mm(mean, 3.39±0.05 mm). At the 18 days after hatching, the tip of tail became curved at the end and the stems for pectoral, dorsal, and caudal fins appeared. Juveniles, having all firm rays, was 44.12~58.72 mm(mean 55.95±6.74 mm) in TL 25 days after hatching.
남해안 여자만에 서식하는 짱뚱어 Boleophthalmus pectinirostris의 난발생 및 자치어 형태발달

이 연구는 남해안 여자만에 서식하는 짱뚱어의 초기생활사를 규명하고 그 결과를 같은 망둑어과 어류들과 차이점을 비교하였다. 연구에 사용된 어미는 2015년 6월 전남 벌교읍 갯벌에서 맨손으로 포획하였다. 산란량은 411~11,688개였고, 난은 짧은 타원형으로 크기는 1.40×0.72 mm였다. 수온 25~27℃에서 부화시간은 91시간 35분이 소요되었다. 부화 직후 난황자어는 전장 3.02~3.31 (평균 3.17±0.08, n=30)mm로 난황을 갖고 있었고, 먹이 섭취는 하지 않았다. 부화 후 4일째에는 전장 3.31~3.52 (평균 3.43±0.07, n=30) mm로 입과 항문이 열리면서 전기자어기로 이행하였고, 먹이를 섭취하였다. 부화 후 14일째 전장 5.06~5.25 (평균 5.16±0.06, n=30)mm로 척추 말단 끝부분이 45°로 완전히 휘어지면서 후기자어기로 이행하였다. 부화 후 41일째 전장 14.3~16.8 (평균 15.4±0.85 mm, n=30)로 각 지느러미 기조수는 제1등지느러미 5개, 제2등지느러미 26~27개, 뒷지느러미 24~27개, 배지느러미 6개로 정수에 달하면서 치어기로 이행하였다. 연구 결과 후기자어는 별 모양의 흑색소포가 가슴지느러미 앞쪽부터 꼬리지느러미 기저까지 침착되어 있어 다른 망둑어과 어류 후기자어들과 형태적인 차이가 구분되었다. This study investigated the early life history of the Boleophthalmus pectinirostris living in the southern coastal Yeoja-man and compared the results with the same Gobiidae fishes. The brood stork used in the study were captured with bare hands in the tidal flats of Beolgyo-eup, Jeollanam-do, in June 2015. The amount of spawning was 411~11,688, and the eggs were short oval and the size was 1.40×0.72 mm. The time of hatched took 91 hours and 35 minutes at a water temperature of 25~27℃. Newly hatching larvae, the yolk sac had a total length of 3.02~3.31 (average 3.17±0.08, n=30) mm and did not eat rotifer. 4 days after hatching, the total length was 3.31~3.52 (3.43±0.07, n=30) mm, and as the mouth and anus opened, the fish transitioned to the preflexion larvae and fed. 14 days after hatching, the total length was 5.06~5.25 (5.16±0.06, n=30) mm, and the distal end of the vertebra was completely bent at 45° and the transitioned to the postflexion larvae. 41 days after hatching, the total length was 14.3~16.8 (15.4±0.85 mm, n=30), and the number of fins reached an integer of 5 first dorsal fins, 26~27 second dorsal fins, 24~27 anal fins, and 6 ventral fins, and the transitioned to the juveniles. As a result of the study, star-shaped melanophore were deposited from the front of the pectoral fin to the base of the caudal fin, which distinguished them in form from other postflexion larvae of Gobiidae fishes.
능성어(Hyporthodus septemfasicatus)의 산업적 양식을 위한 수정란 대량생산

The mass production of fertilized eggs of the convict grouper Hyporthodus septemfasciatus was studied from 2013 to 2020 for industrial aquaculture. The experiment was divided into two groups. Group 1 broodstock was raised from wild-caught fry and used from 2013 to 2020. Group 2 broodstock was raised from artificially propagated fry and used from 2019 to 2020. Males used to collect sperm for artificial insemination weighed more than 7 kg. The effects of various hormones on artificial ovulation were investigated from 2013 onward. Among these, luteinizing hormonereleasing hormone analogue (LHRHa) at 100 μg/kg body weight showed the most effective results and was used for artificial egg collection from 2014 onward. In Group 1, the average total egg production per year, average egg production per individual, fertilization rate, and hatching rate were 26,143 mL, 609.7 mL, 93.3%, and 91.8%, respectively, and in Group 2, were 2,750 mL, 316.5 mL, 92.1%, and 90.4%, respectively. Based on these results, we showed that a large number of fertilized eggs for artificial seeding could be produced consistently. Moreover, the mass production of fertilized eggs in Group 2 establishes a foundation for the complete aquaculture cycle of H. septemfasciatus.
한국 특산종 눈동자개, Pseudobagrus koreanus의 생식소 발달과 성분화

Sex differentiation process of the spotted Black Bullhead, Pseudobagrus koreanus, was investigated using fish samples of different age after hatching. The primordial germ cells appeared separately under air bladder in 1-day larva(total length: 6.63~6.95 mm). The primordial gonad with a genital ridge developed in 5-day prelarva(7.50~9.36 mm). The ovarian differentiation started in about 25-day juvenile(11.58~13.21 mm). The somatic tissues enlongated in the tip of one end of undifferentiated gonad and fused each other. Thus a small ovarian cavity appeared. The testicular differentiation was initiated in 30-day juvenile(12.19~13.72 mm). The rudiment of sperm duct was appeared in the lower part of the undifferentiated gonad. In 50-day juvenile(16.28~17.06 mm), the ovary started to fill with peri-nucleolus oocytes, and the spermatogonia started to develop. In 250-day juvenile(35.49~51.12 mm), the ovary became bigger and filled with oocytes, and the number of spermatogonia started to increase. Considering these results, the spotted Black Bullhead could be a differentiated type in sex differentiation and gonochorism in sexuality.
대맛조개 (Solen grandis) 의 수정란 발생과 유생 성장

Solen grandis is an industrially important edible bivalve that is traded at high prices as it is unfarmed and the production has decreased due to environmental pollution and overfishing. Major studies on Solen grandis have reported only basic research on reproductive development, change, etc., and no studies on spawning, egg development, and larval management have been reported for seed production and aquaculture technology development. Therefore, in this study, spawning was carried out using mature plaques secured through habitat survey for Solen grandis seed acid, and artificial seed production was succeeded, and the egg development process from fertilized egg to D phase larva and larval development process of 1 mm or more were observed through a microscope. Additionally, this study aims to develop technology for promoting seed production as basic research for fostering high value-added bivalve industrial varieties and resource recovery. Based on the existing research data, we conducted research on the development of fertilized eggs and larval development using the mature plaques of Solen grandis.
호르몬 처리에 의한 붉바리 Epinephelus akaara의 배란유도

본 연구는 붉바리 배란유도를 위해 다양한 호르몬과(ovaprim, pimozide, LHRHa, HCG)과 LHRHa의 농도별 효과를 조사하였다. LHRHa는 50 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>, 100 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>, 150 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>, 200 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>의 농도로 처리하였다. 호르몬은 등 근육에 주사하였으며, 조사 결과 LHRHa 단독, 그리고 LHRHa와 Pimozide를 혼합하여 투여했을 때 가장 효과적이었으며, 두 실험구 사이의 차이는 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 LHRHa를 단독으로 사용하는 것이 가장 효율적인 것으로 판단된다. 그리고 LHRHa를 다양한 농도로 처리하여 배란유도 효과를 조사한 결과 100 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>의 농도로 투여했을 때 가장 우수한 것으로 조사되었다. This study aims to investigate how ovulation induction of red spotted grouper, Epinephelus akaara varies when treated with different hormonal substances such as ovaprim, pimozide, LHRHa, and HCG. As for LHRHa, we injected it at four different concentrations: 50 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>, 100 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>, 150 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>, and 200 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>. All hormonal substances including LHRHa were injected into the back muscles. Buoyant, embryonic survival, fertilization, and hatching rate were the highest in LHRHa and LHRHa + pimozide group. When LHRHa was injected at different concentrations, buoyancy and fertilization rate were the highest in 100 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup> group. Embryonic survival and hatching rate were the highest in 150 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup>. Based on these experimental results, we concluded that LHRHa at the concentration of 100 ㎍kg<sup>-1</sup> is the most efficient for the ovulation induction in this fish species.
