1995 Pediatric Infection and Vaccine Vol.2 No.1
Authors have experienced a case of neonatal sepsis whose organisms were group B streptococci. This case was early-onset type and the two premature babies were expired. Autopsy was done but no specific findings were shown in pulmonary parenchyma except focally mild atelectasis and dilated bronchiols and alveoli, and distictive hyaline membrane or aspirated materials are not identified. A brief review follows.
Vol.0 No.64
This study purposed to examine the effects of teacher’s mathematical questions using mathematics related fairy tales on young children’s mathematic ability. The subjects of this study were 20 five-year-old children (10 boys and 10 girls) at G Kindergarten in J Province as the experimental group, and another 20 (6 boys and 14 girls) at C Kindergarten as the control group. The children’s average age was 72.68 months. For this study, we designed a teaching-learning plan with mathematical questions based on mathematics-related fairy tales for the experimental group, and applied it through 18 sessions for 6 weeks. Collected data were processed with SPSS 12.0, and descriptive statistics were obtained through a pretest and a posttest of the experimental group and the control group. In addition, ANCOVA was performed using the score of the pretest as a covariate and the score of the posttest as a dependent variable. According to the results of this study, teacher’s mathematical questions using mathematics-related fairy tales had a positive effect on young children’s mathematical ability and its sub-factors. Therefore, teacher’s mathematical questions using mathematics fairy tales may be useful as effective materials for enhancing children’s mathematical ability in the field of early childhood education.
