It has been reported that the ethanolic extract of the root of Piper methysticum (P. methysticum) inhibits melanogenesis in melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH)-activated B16 melanoma cells. Flavokawain B (FKB) and Flavokawain C (FKC) isolated from this extract have been found to inhibit melanin production based on anti-melanogenesis activity. This study was designed to find out the inhibition and its process of FKB and FKC on melanin synthesis in melan-a melanocytes. FKB and FKC inhibited melanogenesis at 10 µM, 5 µM respectively in melan-a melanocytes. However, they did not inhibit extracellular tyrosinase activity from melan-a melanocytes. FKB reduced the protein level of tyrosinase (Tyr), tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TRP-1), tyrosinase-related protein 2 (TRP-2), microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) and the mRNA level of Tyr and TRP-1. FKC reduced the protein level of TRP-2 and MITF and the mRNA level of TRP-1 and Tyr. The reduced expression of Tyr and TRP-1 might be resulted from the decreased MITF which regulates major melanogenic proteins. However, since the mRNA expression of MITF did not change by FKB and FKC treatment, the effects of FKB and FKC on extracellular signal regulating kinase (ERK)/AKT phosphorylation, known to regulate the degradation of MITF, were confirmed. FKB and FKC significantly increased the phosphorylation of ERK1/2, not in AKT. These results suggest that FKB and FKC may be helpful as a potential depigmenting agent for various hyper-pigmentary disorders.

Amid the rapidly changing constructional business conditions, construction sectors showed insufficient improvements in quality management for its expansion in size. Especially, construction works for educational facilities of elementary, middle and high schools has been performed by the mid-sized construction companies who are not capable of doing systematic quality management while the requirements of the customers are getting higher. In order to deal with the rapidly changing business conditions and to enhance the quality level at the same time, it is urgent to reorganize the effective quality management system by doing the overall and systematic analysis about current situation of construction site. Accordingly, through the survey about the mind and status of quality management of the construction companies of domestic educational facilities and its related personnel, this study will focus on which level our current quality control system arrived at. The purpose of this study is to provide the preliminary data for the establishment of quality management for the construction site of the domestic educational facilities by analyzing the survey results.

Especially, construction works fur educational facilities of elementary, middle and high schools has been performed by the mid-sized construction companies who are not capable of doing effective and systematic quality management while the requirements of the customers are getting higher and higher. In order to have a flexible deal with the rapidly changing business conditions and also to enhance the quality level, it is the high time to reorganize the effective quality management systeme by doing the overall analysis about the quality defects in construction site. Accordingly through the investigation about the quality defects in the construction sites of domestic educational facilities, this study will focus on what kind of quality defects show. It is aimed at providing the preliminary data for the establishment of quality management fur the construction site of the domestic educational facilities by analysing the investigation results.
순환여과식 양식장 해수 열원 히트펌프 시스템의 전력 소비량 예측을 위한 인공 신경망 모델

This study deals with the application of an artificial neural network (ANN) model to predict power consumption for utilizing seawater source heat pumps of recirculating aquaculture system. An integrated dynamic simulation model was constructed using the TRNSYS program to obtain input and output data for the ANN model to predict the power consumption of the recirculating aquaculture system with a heat pump system. Data obtained from the TRNSYS program were analyzed using linear regression, and converted into optimal data necessary for the ANN model through normalization. To optimize the ANN-based power consumption prediction model, the hyper parameters of ANN were determined using the Bayesian optimization. ANN simulation results showed that ANN models with optimized hyper parameters exhibited acceptably high predictive accuracy conforming to ASHRAE standards. 본 연구에서는 순환여과식 시스템의 해수 열원 히트펌프의 전력 소비량 예측을 위한 인공신경망(ANN) 모델의 적용을 다룬다. 히트펌프 시스템을 적용한 순환여과식 시스템의 전력 소비량 예측을 위한 ANN 모형의 입출력 자료를 얻기 위해 TRNSYS 프로그램을 이용하여 통합 동적 시뮬레이션 모델을 구축하였다. TRNSYS 프로그램에서 얻은 자료는 선형회귀분석을 이용하여 분석한 후, 정규화를 통해 ANN 모델에 필요한 최적의 데이터로 변환하였다. ANN 기반의 전력 소비량 예측 모델을 최적화하기 위해 베이지안 최적화를 이용하여 ANN의 하이퍼 파라미터를 결정하였다. 하이퍼 파라미터가 최적화된 ANN 모델의 예측 결과는 ASHRAE 기준을 충족하며 예측 정확도가 매우 높음을 확인하였다.

In the point that residential environment has significant effect on physical, social and psychological aspect of the dwellers, Post-Occupancy Evaluation research provides invaluable data for current situation and future design. Although, not much POE researches on residents of high-rise condominiums have been performed compared to those of ordinary condominiums because of their relatively exclusive character. On this study, based on basic theory of residential environment and proceeding researches on characteristics and architectural planning factors of high-rise residence, new 13 evaluation categories were developed. Through questionnaire survey designed from this new frame, residential satisfaction level of 114 residents of two high-rise residential complex was investigated and analyzed. The result can be served as grounding for understanding residential characteristics for future planning of high-rise residential complex.
난류 예혼합연소 화염의 LES 및 산업용 연소기 개발을 위한 LES 응용 해석 기술

LES results of turbulent premixed combustion flows are introduced by using the dynamic sub-grid scale model based on G-equation describing the flame front propagation. The turbulent premixed combustion flows around bluff body and over backward facing step are analyzed to validate present formation. LES of swirling partially premixed combustion flame is also performed to conform the predictive capabilities of LES model and to prompt our understanding for the combustion flows over double cone swirl burner combustor by using CFD-ACE+ commercial code.
