환경경영과 환경교육을 위한 기업 환경교육의 의의: 일본의 협동 환경교육에 관한 질적 사례 연구를 중심으로

본 연구에서는 기업 환경교육의 연구와 실천이 비교적 활발하게 진행되고 있는 일본에서, 기업과 환경교육 전문단체가 협동으로 실시하고 있는 기업 환경교육의 우수한 두 사례를 선정하여 질적 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 자료 수집은 두 사례의 관계자들과의 인터뷰, 관련 문헌 조사 그리고 현장 관찰 등을 통해 이루어졌으며, 수집된 자료는 ``기술``, ``분석``, ``해석``이라는 절차에 의해 결론으로 도출되었다. 이러한 분석 과정을 통해 드러난 결과가 기업 환경교육의 가능성, 즉 기업 경영과 환경교육에 어떤 의미를 부여할 수 있는지에 대해 논하였다. 두 협동 환경교육에 대한 연구를 통해, 첫째 기업 환경교육은 기업이 직면한 과제인 환경 문제에의 대응과 실천에 도움을 줄 수 있다는 것, 둘째, 기업 환경교육은 환경교육의 발전에 있어 중요한 역할이 가능한 것을 알 수 있었다. 기업 환경교육은 기업의 경제적 이윤을 위한 ``생산 활동``과 ``생산을 위한 모든 기업 활동``, 심지어 사회적 가치를 위한 ``사회적 활동``에서 환경을 고려하게 할 수 있었다. 기업의 환경교육을 위한 잠재력은 ``기본 요소``, ``전문 요소``, ``네트워크 요소``로 범주화 될 수 있었다. This paper has taken on the challenge of finding out the importance and possibility of corporations`` EE through a qualitative case study. For this purpose, the research is focused on the two collaborative EE programs initiated by corporations and NGOs. The main data research was compiled by conducting interviews, reviewing documents that related to the issue of EE and participatory observation. Collected data was analyzed through ``description``, ``analysis`` and ``interpretation``. As the significant results of this research revealed, the corporations` EE can contribute to their economic profit as well as create social values, which have became more important for business organization. In the case of economic profit, EE can contribute by instilling an environmentally friendly mind set into its employees which is considered an important factor of environmental management. Furthermore a company can also develop their production through EE, and a corporation EE can be very effective for EE groups. Corporations have various potential elements for EE, which can be divided into ``basic element``, ``specialized element`` and ``network element``.
