In the issues of the suspension system noise during the vehicle development phase, nowadays activities to improve the noise have been conducted in the vehicle driving conditions. This is required with a repeated tuning on the actual vehicle states. Therefore a significant amount of time and effort is put in the improvement process because it is based on the subjective experience of tuning engineers. If the noise is particularly generated in the low-temperature environmental conditions, it is sometimes difficult to evaluate in the same condition as the case may be. This paper indicates effective test methods and procedures to improve the rumble noise caused by damper system-level status. In addition, it introduces a real case that occurred during vehicle development phase.
