용존공기부상법 ( DAF ) 에서 미세기포와 입자간 충돌이론의 실험적 증명

In this research, the theoretical modeling of DAF which was obtained by trajectory analysis has been verified. Especially, the effects of electrostatic nature and particle size of bubble and particle (floc) was focused. To measure the electrostatic nature of bubble, zeta potential measuring setup was made in a well controlled laboratory. The effects of several operational parameters in DAF process are investigated on a system composed of batch DAF reactor, microscope and video system. The effect of pH on the removal efficiency of DAF is presented. The effect of mixing time is presented. The effect of zeta potential of floc and bubbles with the addition of coagulant is presented. It is found that all the phenomena can be explained primarily from the electrostatic nature of bubble and particle and secondarily from the effect of particle size. The findings from this research are compared and verified with the results of DAF modeling by α_(bp). This research will be helpful to understand and explain the process better and possibly can be used to modify and improve the DAF process.
개발도상국에서 Hybrid Ferric-Manganese-Silica Oxide를 적용한 비소 제거용 정수 BSFilter 적정기술개발

Arsenic (As) contamination in drinking water is severe problem for about 100 million people who live in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Myanmar, Mongolia, and Ethiopia etc. Chronic doses cause skin cancer, blackfoot disease, and cardiac damage. Even though the biosand filter (BSF) is popular in many developing countries, it could not remove effectively hazardous ions as As. Adsorbent is effective and feasible to reduce As. In this study the improved biosand filter (iBSF) was embedded with adsorbent, was tested to evaluate As removal as well as organic removal. In 20 days removal of turbidity, bacteria, and $UV_{254}$ have shown 60-95 % removal. Arsenic was removed more than 99.9 % in the columns embedded with silica oxides of ferric manganese ($FM{\alpha}$) while 5.8 ~ 38.3 % in columns without $FM{\alpha}$. Isotherm test showed that average amount of the adsorbed arsenic on the oxides was 0.56 mg/G.
효과적 공간활용을 위한 Side Stream Plug-Flow Reactor를 이용한 하수 고도처리 공정 적용에 관한 연구

This study configured the conventional $A^2O$ (Anaerobic-Anoxic-Aerobic bioreactor) system which the fixed media immersed into the anoxic reactor(Named PFR system : Plug Flow Reactor) for evaluating the removal efficiency of nitrogen in the wastewater. The experimental equipment was a cylinder which was consist of 4 pleated PE Pipes(Length 330M, Diameter 100mm) including 2 rope shape media. As a result, the average effluent T-N removal efficiency of the conventional $A^2O$ system was 17.9, 40.3, 50.6, 44.6% in each mode, but the average effluent T-N removal efficiency of the PFR system could achieve 38.8, 57.1, 71.8, 65.4% in each mode. It indicated that the PFR system caused to the increasing of C/N ratio that effected to the increasing of the denitrification efficiency. Not only the effective T-N removal efficiency but also the controllable install space will give advantages for retrofitting of the wastewater treatment plant with the conventional treatment system to the PFR system.
